I always seem to have a sore throat after drinking Water. I've tried tap, bottled, room temp, and cold water, always the same with the sore throat. I'm having a really hard time getting in all the water that i need to have for the day.

I was banded a little over 1 month ago and I've been having the same pain. It first started in my lower right side. I thought it was my appendix the pain was so sudden and severe. My doctor said I may have tweeked a muscle while walking. Now, 2 days later, the pain traveled over to my left side. I've noticed that I'm a little more gassy than usual, but I can't imagine this much pain from just having gas.

Hi, I just had the biggest scare as of yet. I was going for my usual daily brisk walk and started having severe abdominal pains. It was so bad I was thinking it was my appendix and I was crying like a baby. It was on my right side halfway between my port and pelvis. I could barely walk back to work. Luckily, I work in a health care setting, a nurse took my blood pressure, it was 163/103, and I was able to lay down and rest for awhile. The pain is still there but now is very dull. I was banded on October 3rd and only have 4cc's in it right now. I spoke with my Doctor and she said that I probably just tweeked it a little while exercising. She said take some Motrin and relax and go easy with the food. Has anyone else had this pain before? I wonder if this is something that is normal with the band?

I'm getting banded on October 3rd and am really nervous. I went to meet the anesthesiologist yesterday and he mentioned that I might get chipped teeth from them putting down the breathing tube. He also said he had to mention that sometimes people are semi contious still during surgery. Hearing this makes me all that more nervous. My doctor never put me on a pre op diet, I just started drinking the protein drinks every morning for the past week by myself. My kids are asking me if I'm going to die. Holy crap! How do I reply to that?

October 3rd is my date. My doctor didn't put me on a pre op diet though. Hmmmm.....wonder if this is normal?

This is all very helpful. I'm having surgery on Monday, October 3rd and have the week off. My work is making a big stink about getting a letter from my doctor saying when I can go back. They are putting me on a family medical leave - I was only originally planning on taking vacation time. Now I have all kinds of forms to fill out. Great!
