what should I eat before pre op diet?
phished10 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I am being sleeved in a little over 2 months. I will start my pre op diet 2 weeks before surgery but I'm not sure what I should be eating now. I see that some people start calorie counting and protein shakes months before surgery..should I do that as well? I met with the fitness instructor today and they suggest that you watch what you eat up until the strict pre op diet is started. But to what degree should I watch what I eat? Should I get more strict with portion control as well? Thanks in advance -

Contraception After Surgery
phished10 replied to gordatoflaca's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If you have a fairly regular cycle you can do Natural Family Planning. No hormones, pills, or inserting of a foreign object I also delt with infertility in the past and am wanting to avoid getting pregnant during the losing period. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! -
Are you scared to have weight loss surgery
phished10 replied to Suzannesh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much! Your words of encouragment mean so much. I know that this surgery is right for me but when I think about the "what ifs" I start to panic because I have a toddler and I can't imagine not being able to tend to him for so long (leak recovery). Or even worse, not being on this earth for him. I know it's silly but it's so scary at the same time. This thread is great because not only are the words helpful but it's great to know that you aren't alone in your fears -
Are you scared to have weight loss surgery
phished10 replied to Suzannesh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fear is a leak...I think about it day and night. I have called the nurse and asked her a million questions about the 1 patient that had a leak w my doc. Ugh, it's a huge fear of mine, but I keep praying that everything will go smoothly. Thanks for the uplifting post..it sure helps -

Great question! I am also wondering what vitamins I should buy. Do they all have to be in liquid form?

Self pay sleeve with 36 BMI no comorbidities
phished10 replied to LisaM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think there are several people at this site who have had the sleeve with a BMI lower than 40. My BMI is 39. From what I have read most surgeons will perform the sleeve on patients with a BMI over 31 but I'm sure it depends on the surgeon. Good Luck! -
I am so sorry you are going through this! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hoping for good news!

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I look forward to getting to know everyone, the support here is amazing I have a few questions about the surgeons at Acadiana Weightloss Surgery. Has anyone here been sleeved by either of the two? I am finding more reviews on Dr.Gachassin rather than Dr. Eschete. But not all of them are great. Some say his bedside manners are horrible! I can only find 1 review on Dr. Eschete and it's great, but I wish I had more to go off of, one review isn't much. I'm just wanting some feedback on their quality of care and your experience with these doctors. Also, I am cash pay, how long did it take you to get a consultation and into surgery? I called the office and asked the staff this questin and didn't really get an answer. I have the cash and I am 100% sure I want the sleeve. I would like to have the surgery next month, if not I will have to wait until the end of August. Thank you so much!
