    yeah, i was cleared. i was walking an hour the day after surgery.....i was cleared to go to the pool after 6 days. Hes heavy into exercise and feels that most drs are too easy on their patients. we got fat by being lazy in his eyes i think and we wont do well if we remain so. i think thats the way he thinks anyway i cant get that much Protein in 1.5c food a day....45 at the most...

    yeah i hear ya......my poingt all along is there is no way to get that many calories in 1 1/2 cups of food a day..... lol

    Well, all, I had a long heart to heart with the nutritionist at the drs.......he said 1/2cup of food 2-3 times a day, with at least 1/2 of it being Protein. he said some people lose inches first, then the scale catches up. I'm going back to the Atkins shakes. At least I know they worked during pre-op. solid food isn't doing the trick...So, wish me luck!

    Hey there....banded 4-13-11 and have been on solids now for a week. i now am only 0.4 pounds under surgery weight. The only good news is I am 18 pounds less than the pre-op weight and down a total of 14 inches......but i paid $10,000 for nothing. This surgery obviously doesnt work for everyone. Anyone who asks me about it is getting an ear full of about how worthless it is. I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully we both have better luck

    hey, thanks for giving me an ida of what you eat..thats helpful...i ate a bowl of Soup one day and wanted to die from the pain..then the throwing up...but i felt my heart was being crushed...hard lesson learned about too much too fast...it was about 3/4c. i cant imagine eating as much as you are at once. im terrified. lol but seriously, thanks for giving me an idea of what a "normal" diet for someone looks like. i appriciate it

    yeah. probably true...i tend to overanylize..... i know his info says each meal, no matter what it is should fit into a 1/2 cup measuring cup, no matter what the weight is............ i sent a note to his nutritionist today. awaiting email back i found a site today that sounds good to me as far as being well rounded nutrition. i think i may follow it. i also found the lap band pyramid, but it has over 23 servings a day. hell, i didnt eat that before! lol glad youre doing well on this...congrats

    yeah, he said 4 ounceS at a time.... 50% Protein, 50% everything else... i see on here a lot of people are getting Snacks.....i may do that against his orders........he said no snacks and no more liquid calories after once you hit the pureed stage....and thats for life.......

    a whole shake is 160....4 oounces is less ok, let me ask you all al different question..............i thought of it as i was washing my car-dont ask me why lol tomorrow i can start real food................so, how do i put 800-1000 calories a day into 3 -1/2cup servings? unless that 1/2 cup is nothing but pure chocolate and icecream (gross) i cant think of anything that has that kind of calories............ how do you guys do it? can anyone tell me their typical day? i was thinking tomorrow: breakfast-oatmeal (140 calories) lunch-1/2 kfc grilled chicken breast (110 calories) and 1/4 c green Beans (20 calories) dinner-thin pork chop (maybe 100 calories?), 1/4cup steam carrots (50 calories) see??? there is my meals, but nowhere near close enough to those calories..... and as far as activity, well, I will be in pool 30 minutes before work, then work a 14 hour day............ so, ultimately, i think my body is in starvation mode too, but i know the dr has had great sucess........but i cant figure out how to get enough calories in 1.5 cups a day and still eat healthy........... any ideas??

    i doubt i can question his credibility, since he is one who goes around the country teaching others how to do this surgery, etc... Hes a master something or other for the allergan company (i forget the title). He's supposed to be one of the best in the country with tens of thousands under his belt, no deaths, no sentinal events at all associated with his care. i think i may go against his orders though and add a snack to the mix or something.. but im thinking muscle since i have lost so many inches. ive lost 10 inches in just my bust, waist and hips alone, which is phenominal. 14 inches total gone.

    the nutritionist is was the one who wrote the rule with him....... i will just wait and see what happens.....im probably jumping to conculsions here........when i see them in may i will talk to them about how far behind i am then thanks

    see??? you were banded day before me and have lost 26 pounds to my 8!!!!! you see how im a little freaked out? i should have lost at least another 20 at this point since im doing so much exercising.......the only good news is that my stomach is waaay smaller and i have lost 14 inches total since surgery, so maybe its all muscle

    no, actually ive got it right......but i can have all the Water and tea i want but at this stage im on pureed anyway...but even still, 1.5cups a day is not going to amount to much either. example: today i had... 1/2c Soup (60 calories) 1 pudding cup (60 calories) 1/2c pureed fruit (80 calories) i was on the treadmill for 20 minutes in the pool for 40 minutes rode the bike for 10 walked in the park for 30 (i had the day off work) see my frustration? maybe my body will adjust...i guess im just a little worried about having spent $10,000 for a procedure and having it not work.
