I live in a multi-level house. I learned quite by accident that running up or down the stairs moves the offender........

What Is The Soonest You Can Get A Lap Band Fill?
nayttap replied to Matt Z's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your stomach needs time to heal around the band. I too, was so excited to "turn that band on"...but surgery is only the first step of a long couple months of working up to the sweet spot. Eat appropriately, begin exercising, and focus on healing instead of fills. The first ones are such a disappointment anyway.... Pushing fills too fast and too soon have detrimental results for many in the long run.........you need a good 4 weeks to heal that band in place -

Switching Surgeons/Office post approval but Pre-Op

From Bandwagon on the Road....a blog by Jean McMillan 11/14/11 on the importance of treating sleep apnea to increase success from lap band surgery: " Non-restorative sleep - Sleep affects the production of hormones (leptin, grehlin, cortisol) that are key to the experience of hunger, appetite, and satiety. Poor sleep tends to decrease leptin (satiety hormone) production and increase grehlin (hunger hormone) production. It also seems to increase sensitivity to pain. If you have sleep apnea or another type of sleep disorder, or even subclinical sleep disturbance, it's likely that your physical hunger is increased and your sense of satiety is decreased. The adjustable gastric band can intervene on your behalf, but it doesn't correct the hormone production problem." I realize that this still doesn't answer your question about changing surgeon's.......but the requirement is valid in my opinion and worth taking the time to ensure that you have maximum and optimal success from the life changes that you are making. -
I like the Dannon Traditional.......160 calories, 11 g Protein. The Raspberry is mixed throughout the yogurt--not just on the bottom.

The Sleep Centers I've worked with are extremely busy and booked weeks out. Usually you see the sleep physician 2-3 weeks after the study for the results. Often the sleep study is required by the physician, or by insurance. What they are asking of you is not unrealistic....just not your plans. -

Why did the first doc refuse you fills? And the second one?

the 'why can't you just lose the weight normaly' question...

Seeing that coming........I never told my family--beyond the immediates like my own children who are young adults. My parents, siblings, etc have been left in the dark. Sad reality......because there's so much I'd like to share and educate them on as they are interested........but they'll never know. It's easiest that way for me. I feel for you........could see that same thing coming from my ever devoted mama and papa, all in the name of love and knowing what is best for their children............even though we are all in our 40's & 50's. Like fills and the amount needed, and the right decision for each person, it's an individual choice--not one right answer. -
Am i eligible for lap band?
nayttap replied to squishy88's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You need to go to a seminar, check out the details with your primary doc and insurance, and investigate options. Usually individuals must be stable for a couple years mentally with depression under control before a health team will consider the person in a good spot mentally and physically for surgery. If your social security is solely because of depression, I suspect you must have several health care professionals in your realm to make initial inquiries about the possibility. Having any sort of WLS is a major life change. If you are not ready to accept a life time change of eating and exercising, you may not be a good candidate RIGHT NOW. That being said, this might be the motivating factor to make life changes towards this end............starting with the boyfriend who seems cruel from your description. Surgery is only the very beginning.......... -
