I am 7days out too and experiencing the same thing, thanks for posting this. It is pretty awful isn't. I was starting to think it was all of the supplements "sticking" to me. LOL. -

left the house for the first time in 6 days which is surreal for me. the break has been kind of nice.

Surgery Cancelled....my Surgeon Resigned Again!

I started my liquid diet yesterday and was supposed to have my final surgeon appt today. I got a call at work yesterday saying that my appt and surgery were cancelled because my surgeon resigned that day. My surgery was scheduled for Dec 6th. I yelled out "WHAT!" in the middle of the office. I got a little teary and pulled it together. My co-workers looked frightened. I am the most mellow person, they have never heard me yell like that. This is the second surgeon to leave with little to no notice. My original surgeon left in July as I was going through the insurance required 6month supervised program. Needless, to say I was feeling really down. I am so prepared for this surgery to find out it wasn't happening just crushed me. I got up this morning with a new attitude and found a surgeon(in a different office) that will see me next week and if all is well, perform surgery 10days after. I joked with my fiance that I am going to have this Dr. sign a contract in his own blood that he will at least stick around long enough to perform this surgery. I will definitely make him pinkie promise he will anyway. :wink1: I have worked so hard to get here, I am determined to make this happen. -
I saw an Internal Med doctor for surgical clearance he says after looking at my abdominal ultrasound I may need to have my spleen and gallbladder removed also. Yikes! I'll find out for sure at my final appt with my surgeon on Wednesday.

I am less than a month away until surgery(yay!) and have been trying to get everything I need to prepare. One item I wasn't sure about and wanted input on is an abdominal binder or girdle type of a thing. Did any of you use one post op? Is it helpful? My surgeon's office didn't mention anything about needing one. I have an appt next week and will ask. I just wanted to check in and see if there were any thoughts on this. Thank you, Gina

3weeks til surgery. Pre op blood work shows I am a anemic. I take a MultiVitamin. I am now taking Iron supplements. Crossing my fingers hoping it doesn't effect me having surgery.

This forum is amazing, I have found much support here and a lot of good information and insights. I am getting sleeved on 12/6 and was buying things today to prepare for surgery. I am not a sipper either, I gulp my Water. I bought some plastic shot glasses from Walmart so I can start practice sipping. Each glass is one ounce so I will be able to track easily. I am trying to prepare my self for post op as much possible. Good luck to you! -
I will be sleeved December 6th at St Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA by Dr. Hirai! It is nice knowing we have dates so close. I hope we all stay in contact. I can't wait to hear about everyone's experiences.

Just yesterday I had an abdominal ultrasound, chest xray, a couple of different breathing tests, an EKG and blood work(9 tubes of blood, eek!) for my pre op tests. It sounds like it varies per surgeon. Good luck to you!! -
I got a date!!!! 12/6. I feel like this process has been the focus of this entire year. I can't wait to be sleeved!

I will also be sleeved 12/6 I am 31 and my blood pressure was high, since I have lost weight for the 6month supervised diet my bp is now in the normal range. I think that with the weight loss most of your problems will be resolved. Good luck to you ladies on 12/6! Gina

Funny, my name is Gina and I also finished my 6month SWLP too this month I am waiting for insurance approval I am looking at being sleeved at the beginning of November if all is well. Ones I didn't see listed that I think are super important are: How does the Dr check for leaks post op? What if anything do they do to prevent DVT's? Good luck to you!!!
