Underwear And Other Under Garments!
killerhighlights replied to killerhighlights's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
interesting. I feel like i need underwear up to my bra sometimes! -
I've lost enough weight now where my underwear is too big. Not something I thought about having to buy as I lost weight. I always bought Lane Bryant cotton thongs, but their underwear is too large for me. But I don't feel like I am a "normal" size yet. Where is the best place to get underwear? On the same note, I noticed that my belly skin jiggles when I walk. Is there an everyday underwear/under garment that you've found comfortable enough to wear all day, everyday???? HELP!!!!!

I would go with buying things that you are close to fitting into. I'll buy shirts that are too tight, but if I like the cut (and how they cover my arms and such) i'll go ahead and buy it. If you buy too far in advance it may not be a flattering outfit. You don't know what your body is going to do!

Port dislocation
killerhighlights replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, do you know what caused it?????? i'm 6 weeks post op and i've been having port pain and a bump on my port incision!!!! It scares me. -
I FINALLY got my surgery date! August 4th!!!!! I am so excited! I feel like it's a long ways away! Who else is getting banded in August?
-
Yeah I'm not able to be on my stomach either. But I cuddle with a firm pillow. It gives me the same feeling, plus it keeps me from rolling on to my stomach. My port is still sensitive.

How soon after surgery can you do stomach exercises?

My surgeon said at least 1 month post op. -
At work, I had my back to the room and one of the girls was at the copier and said "don't take this the wrong way, but you've got saggy butt syndrome and it's a good thing" talking about my pants being too big on me. She's a tiny little thing, made me feel good. LOL.

I was called by my job a few minutes ago. They told me that when I return to work on Monday, "since they're worried about me over doing it", I can only work about 3 to 4 hours a day. Is this even legal? I work for a small company (less than 20 employees) and while I was gone, they were having a couple girls do a couple of my responsibilities because the business obviously couldn't shut down just because I was getting banded. So they decided for those girls to keep doing that part of my job, and me to come in only a couple hours a day to do the part I didn't show them. I'll give them this, I know my job description says I have to be able to lift 50 pounds (which I can't do until a month post op). But I can get on the floor and unpack the boxes without lift above 15 pounds (which is my limit). What in the world? What can I do? I can't afford to only work part time!

Can my job cut my hours?
killerhighlights replied to killerhighlights's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance isn't through my job. Luckily. And this isn't the first time they tried to cut my hours. The last time they tried I was there to stop them. I think my surgery was an excuse to cut my hours, then tell me over the phone. -

I can file for partial unemployment. But I'm sure that my job will fight it. -

Yeah but surgeon would have to sign off on me lifting 50 pound boxes. He won't do that. I guess I'll be searching for a new job. This isn't the only time they've screwed me over. -
Where can I go to find inexpensive jeans? All my jeans have big holes from chub rub, but I don't want to spend a lot since I don't plan on being here long. I'm looking for size 18 or 20.

My surgeon won't sign anything that isn't truthful. I wouldn't expect him to. -

Would't that make him liable if something were to go wrong? -

I feel like my surgeon won't sign off on me being able to lift up to 50 pounds. -
Can my job cut my hours?
killerhighlights replied to killerhighlights's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's the thing. I can either not go back to work and make no money or work 3 hours a day and make too little of money. This is horrible. Why didn't they tell me this before I left. They knew about the surgery back in May! If I had known this I would have either accommodated for it or I wouldn't have had surgery. Simple as that. I work two jobs because I have to, not because I love it. They know this, and still have waited until 4 days before I return to tell me that I will be less than part time. -
Here's twist on the problem. I can only wear petite length. I'm 5'1". I went to goodwill last night. They didn't have anything in petite lengths. I went to a consignment shop and found a pair of capris. They fit PERFECTLY which means in a week they will be too big. But it's better than all the jeans that have chub rub holes in them. They were 8 bucks. Which is about the price range I am looking for.

I was the same way pre-band. But now, I am so worried about getting stuck or it going down difficult. I guess you could say that fear helped me chew throughly.

August 2011 Bandsters????
killerhighlights replied to killerhighlights's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i just went to my post-op visit... two days early. I have a little blister forming on my large incision so they wanted to see me today. They said it's perfectly fine and I'm not infected or anything. I've lost 17 pounds since the last time I was in their office. I go back to work on Monday. He said I can walk to exercise. But I see them again at the end of the month for my first fill... I hope I won't need it. I'm still not hungry. -
4 days post -op and very hungery
killerhighlights replied to sandiburn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am now 5 days post op. My gas pain is the only pain I have. I think I have a pocket of gas stuck by my belly button. Because it hurts so freaking bad. I'm still not hungry I hope I don't become hungry. My surgeon didn't leave any Fluid in my band. The liquids and cottage cheese are going down pretty good. Takes me about 30 minutes to do 4 oz. I see him again on Thursday. Maybe he can explain the belly button pain. -
What kind of birth control do you use?
killerhighlights replied to aroundthetown's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I used to have the Mirena IUD. I had it for the full 5 years. When it was time to have it removed, I was going to a different GYN and they said since I've never had children I should not have another one inserted. The risk of infertility was way too high. So they put me on the pill. I've been okay with the pill. I've not forgotten (i set my phone alarm) and actually no weight gain (even when I wasn't dieting). The generic name is Triphasil. The only thing I don't like is that I now have a period. With the IUD I didn't have one AT ALL! So of course I stared my period THE DAY BEFORE SURGERY! When it rains it pours! -
Mine was $300. It paid for my nutritionist visit, physical eval, and nutrition classes that was all required by insurance. But now, they have post-op meetings (like a weight watchers meeting) each month that I get to attend free of charge and I can continue to see the nutritionist. Plus they gave me a binder outlining everything there is to know about the band and foods with the band. So I would say it was worth it. I'm actually pretty excited about the post-op meetings. I lost the most weight on weight watchers. I suspect it was the group support aspect (and the points system) that did it for me.

4 days post -op and very hungery
killerhighlights replied to sandiburn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The reason I ask is because I did a liquid diet (no carbs) ten days before surgery. After 5 days I was no longer hungry. I am 4 days post op and I am still not hungry. So I wonder if it was because the liquid diet before or what? I'm hoping I don't get hungry.
