Can I ask you, did you have to do a liquid diet before surgery?

I had mine done in Florence, KY on Thursday! *high five*

My surgeon didn't put any Fluid in my band. I'm just supposed to get used to it first. But the gas pains is the worst. It would be cake if it wasn't for the damn gas.

Today is the day I get banded! The liquid diet is fine... after 5 days. I've lost 15 pounds since I started it. You can do it... just don't cheat!!!!!!!!!!

Today is the day for me too! I will be banded in 4 hours!

I will be banded on Thursday! I go in for my pre-op testing tomorrow. I just want to get it over with already! *High Five*

Day 6 of liquid diet. 4 days until banding..... 11.4 pounds lost!

2nd day of liquid diet. *sigh* I was so hungry today! Hopefully tomorrow will be better. If you're wondering what I'm eating... check out my blog in my siggy.

Started liquid diet today. I'm already sick of not chewing......

I start my liquid diet on Monday. I got my protein in the mail today. But one of the containers were open. I have to call them tomorrow. I don't want to use open protein.

I had my upper GI today. Blech! Chalky barium crap. Although they let me watch the barium move around in my stomach.

My doctor didn't say that I had to lose a certain amount of weight before hand (thank you!) But the liquid diet is mandatory. I've done diets similar to this in the past. My dp estimates that I will lose around 15 pounds.

Yeah I have been drinking a lot of soda, my way of saying goodbye i guess lol I start liquids in 9 days. I am at the point where it's so close, yet so far. And it is driving me insane!!!! I just want to get this over with. Plus I feel like I need a break from work for a little while and this is the only vacation i'm getting this year. lol

tell them you have the band and know what you can eat and thanks for their concern. That's a nice way of telling them to mind their own damn business.

I know! This message board is super helpful! What's also helpful is that my dp's (domestic partner) step mom had gastric by-pass about 8 years ago. He told her about my lap band and she is psyched for me! I feel like she is the only person I know that can possible relate to what I'm going through. Everyone at my job (I work at a very small company) is really excited for me and are even throwing me a "food extravaganza" before I start my liquid diet, but none of them can relate. (None of them are even remotely considered overweight).

I wrote a new blog tonight. I am finding the blogging to be pretty therapeutic. Similar to journaling I suppose.

I'm not scared about it. I am just excited and can't wait. I'm ready to make this change in my life. I still can't imagine weighing any less than I do now.

I don't have it ready yet. I am waiting until it's closer. It's 15 days away now. My boyfriend (who is a healthy weight) is going to eat like this with me. He knows all about Proteins and stuff. He uses True Protein. They have better flavors than unjury, and they're cheaper. (About 50%) They have whey protein isolate that you can get in any of their flavors with any sweetener you want (including splenda!) and can add stuff in if you want (but you don't need that stuff). We're going to order our protein here in a day or so. I am trying a few different flavors, see what I like and what I don't. Plus I don't want to get bored! Before we met, he drank Protein shakes for meals and it didn't bother him. (I wish I was like that)

10 days before surgery I have to go on a liquid diet. It's supposed to help shrink my liver so they have room to work. They suggest just Protein shakes, broth and so forth. They want me to have 3 meals, and 3 Snacks. Meals will be 8 oz of liquid, snacks 4 oz. Of course this is only before I get the band

4 weeks until surgery!!! I can't wait! 18 days until liquid diet. I am not looking forward to the liquid diet, but I can't wait to start shedding weight.

I do 50% sitting, 50% physical (unpacking boxes and lifting up to 50 lbs). My job is telling me to take two weeks and so is my doctor. But I only have about 3 days of vacation left. Meaning I won't get paid for the rest. Of course that's when doctor bills will start coming due.
