    Mountain (trail) biking

Thanks Jake! Probably wise, even though the weather here is PERFECT and I'm going nutty wanting to do it. Was it the bouncing on the trails, or actually the action of riding the bike? I have a paved path I can ride on that is smooth and I can go slow.
  2. Thanks for asking this question! I'm also a nightshifter and was just banded, so these answers were great! I haven't gone back to work yet, but I think the hardest part will be the days that I'm out on a call and not able to get to the fridge where my lunch will be stashed, especially for the last few weeks on full liquid/pureed stages. But hey, with 14 pounds gone, I'll figure something out!!
  3. Hi all, Anyone out there a mountain/trail biker? This was something I was getting into before surgery (I'm one of those lucky ones who is pretty muscular under all the pudge. ) and I want to get back into it as soon as possible. My surgeon said two weeks before riding, but two different nurses from the surgeon's office said six weeks. Both said I could ride on paved trails as soon as I felt up to it, but my concern really is the rough twisty trails. I'm in Florida, so there's no steep climbs on any of the ones I ride. And yes, I've wrecked a few times, but I plan on taking it veeeeeeeery sloooooow at first. Anyway, if anyone does this or has any input, let me know. Thanks in advance!
  4. Awesome - thanks y'all! I'm enjoying the 7lb weight loss already... I'm excited to keep going with the band and get back into exercising so I can lose the other 93 until my goal!
  5. Hi all... Was just banded on Wednesday, and today was the first day I could be on full liquids. This is also the day I am starting my Vitamin regimen (chewable multi-vit, liquid Calcium and B-complex). So I took all those, mixed myself a Protein shake, and found that before I could drink it, I realized I was full, just from the vitamins! Anyone else have this issue? I'm not totally suprised (or unhappy) because it means the band is working already, but it was a little weird. -Teri
