Hey, I'm Christal but you can call me Chrissy, all my friends do.

At 44 yrs old, I was hospitalized with heart failure I began to explore gastric banding and quit my 30 yr smoking habit cold turkey. I began looking into gastric banding which I had successfully done in 2010. However, for me and my health issues, it was not a good fit. My revision to a vertical sleeve was done September 29, 2014.

I'm almost 50 years old. I've raised three amazing kids and have one friggin' bad a33 baby grandson. More than half my life is gone and it's been spent with the last twenty years battling illness and fat. I want at least part of them gone so I can keep loving my little family.

I write about being fat, being sick with rare disorders, having mental illness and parenting someone with mental illness, weight loss surgery and being weird at two blogs. It's my sanity hole.

With multiple health issues, complete dorkdom and a sense of humor where nothing is sacred, I am stumbling through this walk. Welcome to the havoc that is my brain.
