Another hair question...
mandyslife replied to ruthie74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if this helps but I continued to color my hair after surgery. I lost some hair but I noticed that if I kept up my protein it really helped. -
I'm Afraid of Bread...
mandyslife replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Nothing bothers me and it's rather scary, I try not to eat bread and pasta however, easier said than done. I'm 3 years out and afraid I will start to gain weight again so I avoid it!!! Maybe it's a blessing that it bothers you to eat it. -
I'm a year and 5 months out from my sleeve and I feel amazing!!! I'm looking into having a tummy tuck and breast reduction (so far it sounds like insurance will pay for the girls to be redone!) just wondering if anyone has had both done at the same time and everyones story if they've had a TT done.. Please don't hold back I need the good and the bad... Was it painfull, how was the recovery.... all that stuff!! I'm scared and have had some bad experiences with surgery in the past.. Thanks!!!

Post Op 4 Days Help!
mandyslife replied to jessfharris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a year and 5 months out and my tummy still makes funny noises! Alot depends on what I've had to eat or drink.. walking is wonderful and it will help with the pain too.. I don't remember how long I was on pain meds but I don't think it was more than a few days, if you need to call the doctor!!! Don't let things get too bad!! -
I Feel Like A Failure :(
mandyslife replied to BentleyJade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same why. You will have days that you want to sit and eat and drink like you did due to emotions and surroundings. You are better than this! You are a new you! You will succeed! I'm a year and 5 months out from my sleeve and I still have bad days. My advise.. Give yourself credit for making the first step.. It's all about baby steps to a new life eggs are amazing (but get boring) but when you want to eat go for the eggs or Protein shake. I've learned that tea (even unsweetened) has chemicals in it that make you crave sugar! (this from my doctors office) treat yourself to a nice scale and remember weigh yourself the same time each day.. (I do it first thing when I wake up, after I use the bathroom!!) It will get better and before you know it you will be a whole new you! -
*blushing* But I Have To Ask....bowel Issues...
mandyslife replied to TMyers1471's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in 2011 and I still have issues! I've tried everything listed and sometimes it works..If you find a cure let me know! good luck! -
I'm a year and 3 months out and by far NOT an expert but I know this... You need to drink fluids or if you like fruit try watermellon, strawberries ect. they have alot of Fluid content. I landed myself in the ER twice and it's never fun. As for toast/bread I try not to eat it! I have a problem with charbs .. I love them so I try to avoid them. I hope it helps and eventually you will learn your new body give yourself time. You can do it and work will always be there take care of YOU first! A hard lesson to learn I know..

I had the sleeve done in March of this year and I have lost 50lbs.. The past 6 weeks have been really slow for weight loss and I don't know why.. I've only lost 14lbs in 6 weeks! I know I haven't done the exercising (my work schedule just hasn't alotted for it) but I would think that I would be down more than 50 lbs by now... Is this normal? I'm also starting to loose hair! I take all my Vitamins and have even added Biotin, I'm getting my Protein but I also think I'm loosing muscle mass!!!! I'm just really down right now with everything!

I had surgery in March and have lost 50 lbs.. The past month has been very slow for weight loss.. I'm chalking it up to not exercising enough. I know it's hard, I've had many bad days but it will get better!! You have done wonderful so far and will continue to do so! -
Everything is in the details! I'm 5'5 and started at 248lbs, I am now 6 weeks out and down 38lbs! I feel wonderful! Just wondering if this trend will last? example of my day: Egg with slice of cheese 2oz of turkey with fat free ranch 3oz of chicken (or other meat) with tbs. of mashed potatos Water, juice, tea I don't weigh my food and I try not to over eat. Does this seam like an "okay" diet? Is the weight loss about average? Thanks for reading and responding!!!

6 weeks out and loving it
mandyslife replied to mandyslife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I posted on your wall a second ago!!! I try to walk a mile or more a day, and I do the "Walk at home" from weight watchers at work. (I sit for 12 hrs a night so it's nice to have a little movement at 2am) 28lbs is AMAZING!!! Try to get your fluids in whatever way you can! sugar free Jello, popsicles, propell fitness Water. My fluids are my number one priority however, there are days that I have trouble.. It's a day to day learning experience! I'm happy to be sharing it with you!!! -

I was having the same trouble with getting my fluids at my 3 week mark. I turned to sugar free popsicles and making slushies with fruit juice.. just to get something different.. Propell fitness Water is wonderful also (frozen too).. Good luck and Congrats on your loss so far!!! -
I tried campbells light Soups and then just took the chunks out of it. I also liked to buy soups from the deli (again taking out the chunks) and I loved making my own frozen treats with juice. Good luck! Things will get better!!!
