Has anyone had the GNC 'shot' type of Protein? The blue raspberry? I was wondering if I could have that and mied it with some Water and crushed ice to make a slushy type of Protein Drink? Im just trying to find different ways to get my protein in and I think that will be almost good! Any other suggestions for the Clear liquids would be great! Thanks!

Do you take any vitamins? I havent had my surgery yet but I see that everyone seems to take vitamins for energy.

Im a nervous wreck! LOL! I was not this nervous before my lapband. I think my nerves are more about me doing this and not losing weight. That would be terrible. I trust Dr. Aceves but there is also that thought that something could go wrong. I had so many problems with the lapband I dont want to experience that with the sleeve. Good luck!

Thanks for posting all this. I have several questions. Im having the sleeve surgery 4/27/11 with Dr. Aceves. I know he is great b/c he put my lap band in and took it out last year. The closer I get to the date the more panicked I am getting. Is this the right choice? Will I lose? Will I get reflux (I dont currently have it), how bad will it hurt, will I be able to swallow? I see so many people with problems now I am worrying that if I have a problem I wont have a dr. around to help me. What about a leak? I had so many problems with my lapband. I was one of the ones that my body just completely rejected it. I guess I was so swollen up and it got so tight and I could not get anything- even Water down. So I worry if I will have some reaction to this surgery? I trust Dr. Aceves so that helps. I know I will be treated good. But I have so many after surgery fears. Thanks for being so supportive!

I am very lucky to have all supportive people around me. But anyone not supportive would be cut out of my life. Who needs that? You do what is best for you! Good luck. It is GREAT that your mom has maintained for 6 yrs.

My surgery is April 27th and I plan to go back to work May 5th. I have a desk job. Im hoping I will be OK by then.

Hi! I am new to the board and wanted to introduce myself. I had a lapband put in 11/06 and lost about 60 lbs. not nearly what I was hoping. I had trouble with the lapband and fills so I had to keep my band unfilled and in 5/10 had to have surgery to remove it. At that time I did not want to do a revision. I had not eaten for about a month b/c the band was so tight and I threw everything up, didn't sleep b/c of reflux, etc. I felt like such a failure and thought I would never lose. Fast forward to now. I have continued to gain weight and I cannot enjoy family activities b/c of my weight and decided I needed to do something ASAP. RNY scares me and so I began researching the sleeve. I will be sleeved April 27 in Mexicali with Dr. Aceves. He also did my lapband and my lapband removal. I am scared and excited. I am nervous. I have failed so many times. I want to lose and keep the weight off. I want to be able to go on vacation with my family and not hold them back and go on rides with my kids. Heck, I want to be able to walk out onto my daughters soccer field and watch a practice or game w/o being completely out of breath from walking. I have alot of weight to lose. It will be a long journey but I am glad to find sites like this to talk to other people who understand.
