  1. I was just banded on 4/28 also. I just talked to the nurse yesterday about the continued pain in my left shoulder/side and she told me that it is normal and it is most likely gas. She told me to use Maalox because it seems to work better than anything else. She also said that some people will have gas pains for up to a month. The pain in my shoulder brought me to tears last night. I keep walking and a heating pad and will get Maalox this weekend. I'm sure it will pass so I'm going to be tough a little longer. Good luck!!!

    April 2011 Bandits

I was banded April 28th. For the most part I felt good right from the start! I'm sore in my abdomen but I do have quite a bit of pain in my left side/shoulder. So I've been applying heat to that and got some Gas-X to hopefully help with the gas pains. If I can just get rid of the pain in my left side/shoulder I will be doing GREAT! I have been on a liquid diet since I left the hospital, just waiting for Tuesday when I graduate to soupy potatoes/pudding and pureed foods. It's funny to think about how exciting that idea is to me right now Congrats April bandsters and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
  3. I'm in Warrensburg and will be banded by Dr. Malley on Thursday (4/28). I'm nervous, excited, anxious, etc. I have been reading these forums for about a month and love the support I see. I may try to attend some of the support meetings at New Hope but given the distance, I'm glad to know that I have this online option. I'm happy to read about all the success stories!!
