I tried a tsp of them in the last drink of my shake this morning and was pleasantly surprised by how well they kept me satisfied! I finished my shake at 7:45 this morning and didn't start getting hungry until 11:15. I even had a few that got stuck in my permanent retainer and couldn't believe how much they expand. LOL

I fly every weekend and have noticed that I have been having more issues with my band being tighter. I was at my sweet spot and now I get stuck daily (for the past 2 weeks). The only thing I can relate to the problem is the flying. I know it isn't supposed to have an impact, but has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Might just have to do that. It is driving me bonkers!

I had my 2nd fill 3 weeks ago. I am at 3 cc in a 10 cc band. I was fine the first week (definitely had restriction) but since week 2 I have been having a LOT of trouble with getting stuck. Basically every meal I do...even with taking very small bites. I can't even take a large drink of water without it coming back up. Isn't it unusual for it to be delayed like that? I thought I could hold out until my appt next week but everything I seem to eat/drink is uncomfortable going down.

Relief!!! The PA took out the 1cc that she put in last month and I instantly felt better. Too tight indeed!

After not being able to get broth down comfortably today I called and am going in for an unfill tomorrow.

I am going to ask for .5cc to be taken out of mine as well next week. They can just take it out like they put it in.

I can eat, it is just pretty uncomfortable. I think I'll give them a call.

May 2011 bandsters how are you doing?
LVGirl replied to healthierme72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doing pretty good! I was banded on 5/27 and am down 50 lbs now. I have had 2 fills (3cc total in a 10cc band) and think I need to have .5cc taken out. I'm having some struggles since about a week after my last fill. Aside from that, I am about to get back to the gym. I had to stop about 6 weeks ago because I kept breaking out into hives every time I worked out. I must be allergic -
Used my lap-band card for the first time
LVGirl replied to JimR915's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are fortunate that they take it! I have only found 2 restaurants in Vegas that will accept it. -
I can't do scrambled eggs or omelets anymore. I have to have my eggs over medium. That started with my 2nd fill. I have heard of several people having the same issue.

Exactly...this isn't about speed weight loss. It is about permanent weight loss. This whole journey is about changing your lifestyle, not losing weight quickly. I am down 40 lbs in 12 weeks and while sometimes I wish it was more, I know that I am doing it the right way...not by starving myself and using hormones.

So far the only difference is I am regular as can be. Every 4th Friday like clockwork. I am hoping for the excess hair to cease and my hubby & I gave up our baby hope a year ago. We'll see what happens!

Hi all! I am a military wife living in Vegas who is working towards having lap band surgery (ASAP). My husband is being discharged soon so I literally only have a few months to get this done and have it covered by insurance. I have done all of my pre-testing and should get surgery clearance on Wed next week. Meet with my surgeon (Dr. Atkinson) after that and pray for a speedy approval from Tricare. I have found a lot of really helpful info on here and hope to be joining the bandsters soon! :-)

ANY HOPE OF RESTRICTION AFTER FIRST Lap Band FILL????
LVGirl replied to Allison0927's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first fill on Wed and got 2 cc in a 10 cc band. I have restriction and it is great! Had to stay on liquids for 24 hrs and then good to go after that. -
How long did it take from Seminar to Lap Banding?
LVGirl replied to abqann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I did the seminar in March and had surgery in May, but my surgeon doesn't meet with you until you have all of your pre-op stuff done, so from pre-op appts/clearance to surgery it was 3 weeks. -
I have my blog and started it for two reasons, #1 to get people to understand why and what I was doing and give them my perspective if they were considering it themselves, and #2 to get all of my feeling out there so they were not "internalized," which is what causes me to eat. I'll check out all of yours! http://memyband.blogspot.com/

Inches gone but no weight loss, how can this be?
LVGirl replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was going to say this same thing. LOL. I am losing a ton of inches and have lost 35 lbs since my surgery. As my doc put it, the fat and muscle weigh the same, but the muscle and the fat LOOK very different. Google "one pound of fat vs one pound of muscle." You can see that muscle is much more dense than fat so as you lose the fat and workout, you will be smaller...so keep losing those inches!! -
kettlebell - anyone try it?
LVGirl replied to Time2BHealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can barely walk because I did my first workout yesterday morning. OUCH!!! I bought the Reebok kettle weight (comes with DVD) because it was half the price as Bob's bell and it is also at Target. -
Best advice I can give you is get up and walk around. I know it is the LAST thing you want to do right now but it helps to get rid of that gas pain. It never went above my abdomen and I am grateful for that. Use Gas-X strips and keep ahead on your pain meds. I took my liquid lortab every 3-4 hrs and it really helped. Also, I slept in the recliner for the first 5 days/nights after surgery. It will get better, I promise, but I remember being in your shoes. I hope your recovery goes speedy!
