  1. Just had surgery yesterday and I am still stuck on my recliner. Feeling SO much better than yesterday but getting up to walk every hour or so. I am using heating pads to help with the pain over incision sites. I am hoping to be able to get to church tomorrow. Can't imagine driving before Mon.
  2. I have to do 90 g of protein a day but got a lot of great products from my doctors office. Bariatric Advantage is the brand of a lot of them and their products are great. Lots of supplements and protein shots to choose from.
  3. Any suggestions to feel more comfortable at bedtime?
  4. I have to be at the hospital at 6:00 am and am supposed to have surgery at 7:30. So excited!!! Thanks to everyone who has been a help through my, honestly very short, journey to surgery. I'll check in when I can
  5. My doc said I should be driving by day 2-3 and good to go back to work by day 5-7.

    Self imposed Pre-op diet???

I did it just to mentally prepare myself. I still have Herbalife shakes from the beginning of the year so I started using that. I have a shake for breakfast and dinner and usually soup for lunch. I will have a yogurt in between lunch and dinner. The first day I did have to eat tuna around 2:00 because I was starving, but I have been good ever since. I have lost 9 lbs since Sat just by doing this but I wanted to drop before surgery so that my liver wasn't inflamed. Good luck!
  8. Congrats! I have surgery on Friday and this makes me feel much better. I'm with you, not much experience personally in hospitals :-)
  9. I bought one of each of those to try out. The Dark chocolate is actually pretty good.
  10. I have seen a lot on here about Muscle Milk Light but I want to just check with others to see if there are any additional suggestions. I want to get my order in today to have it before surgery next week.
  11. Most of my friends who have had the procedure do not see the surgeon again unless having problems. The PA's do a great job.

    tricare denied?????

I am covered for 3 months of fills/appts post-op, but then I will pay $175 for a year of follow up appts.
  13. I did my "Last Supper" on Sunday. I wouldn't chance anything. Tell your friend that you need her support rather than a big meal right now
  14. Good luck!! Can't wait for your recap. I am doing pre-op tomorrow so I will be thinking about you
  15. I haven't met with him once. I have pre-op tomorrow and surgery on Friday. I met his partner at the seminar. I am also insurance, but his office doesn't do office visits/consults until you have all of your pre-requisites done.
  16. I am not required to do the liquid diet but chose to start today on my own (surgery is Friday) and oh. my. gosh. I am really struggling now. I know it will be better with restriction but wow. I feel your pain!!
  17. I have not told a bunch of people that I am having surgery just because I don't care about how they feel about it. It is my decision and my family is supportive of me. I have a couple of friends who had gastric bypass and sleeve and of course they know. I decided to tell my best friend (BFF's for almost 30 yrs) and she told me she has mixed feelings about it. It seems like she is trying to talk me out of it because "she knows someone who had this" and had this problem and that problem. I guess I'm just scared that it could affect our friendship...and who knows how many others. Anyone else had this happen?

    Tired and uninspired :(

Try different classes and activities as well! The more fun, the more it doesn't feel like exercise
  19. Oh no, I am so sorry! I will be praying for you for sure.
  20. A beautiful, black formal dress....which is 10 sizes smaller than what I wear now. I can't wait to be able to wear it!! Anyone else buy a goal outfit?

    My surgery is tomorrow and...

The people I know who have been were. I expect to as well.
  22. They will usually give you soap at your pre-op to use the night before/morning of surgery. Good luck!!
  23. Now I got it....have to click on the blog tab
  24. I think I am missing something. I don't see anything on their site about a free sample.

    hair falling out

I have a client who is a stylist and when I told her I was having surgery she advised me to buy a boar's hair brush and start using it (I can't remember the particulars of it...cost about $60). Told me to flip my head upside-down and let the blood rush to it, then brush at the roots for about 10 min or so. She has several clients who have had WLS and the one who actually used it had the least amount of hair loss following. It is worth a shot!
