I'M NOT A RABBIT
learningintuition replied to Carmy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think of it as they do with dogs. A good diet and the body gets to use ALL of the nutrients and little is left. the poop is smaller and more compact. So it's a good thing. When I was at my goal weight before, that's how I was. But maybe more fiber to get them out easier! -
*7* Truths Post-Op
learningintuition replied to BZButterfly79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love this post! 1. I love putting on clothes that were busting and now they're loose. I wonder how sausage-like I was. 2. I'm a bit more moody....not sure why. 3. I don't miss waking up and my feet feeling swollen and sore and having trouble going up or down the stairs. 4. my skin is glowing again 5. I don't have any food aversions except for fake sweeteners 6. I crave liquid. My urine isn't concentrated but when I eat i want liquid. I've found that it works for me to do both. otherwise I have pain eating. 7. hunger feels like a burning in my stomach. I wish I could get enough in to do just 3 times but the amount I eat is so little it takes little meals. 8. My husband is all kisses and hugs...he was before but it's increased. -

learningintuition replied to tabw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes what she said. One of my group members was below her cals and stalled. Her body went into starvation mode. She kicked them up to 800 and she was losing -
2 days post-op
learningintuition replied to ozzy22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 days and i was just starting water and juice. I barely got anything but if you don't you'll be exhausted like I was. i slept so much but my urine was dark so I kept working on it. if your urine is dark, you need more fluids. -
Im practicing...

How fast were you able to go back to work?
learningintuition replied to OilSooner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought i'd only take two days. Nope. it wasn't the pain, it was the exhaustion from such little nutrition. I'd say at least a week. I ended up havign to take it without pay. But it can be done. -
Good!!!! that's awesome!

Fish went down different...???
learningintuition replied to learningintuition's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh okay so different things are different for others. I have had mashed potatoes before (mushies) but i had fish for the first time yesterday and my body loved it. the mashed potatoes were just heavy comparatively. wow... -
Fish went down different...???
learningintuition posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So i was able to try flaky fish today and it went down easier than the mashed potatoes...how does that work? -
Can I start mushies a day early?
learningintuition replied to DougNichols's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yeah, I did mine early but take it slow. Look up on google for a list and recipes. It gets boring fast! -
How many does your doc/nut say?
learningintuition replied to myrori's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut said her patients are usually around 800 and if we get more than that they're usually not listening to our body. It seems super low but we'll see. -
Anyone on vitamins?
learningintuition replied to learningintuition's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, you guys convinced me. It makes sense that it didn't really help as a adult eating way more than I needed but now my body may need those nutrients. Okay, talk to doc tomorrow. -
5 days post op - AND HUNGRY!!!!!!!!
learningintuition replied to newmefeb8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You made me think of something. when I was a veggie, i used to crave cheeseburgers and honestly they're not my fav meat (gimme some bacon). Talked with a nurse friend of mine and she said I may be craving Iron. Started an iron supp and it went away perm! So your body may be craving a mineral. -

learningintuition replied to pneal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

5 days post op - AND HUNGRY!!!!!!!!
learningintuition replied to newmefeb8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, too..it depends on the doc. I had mine in Mexico but my doc is here so we can move faster because he's here. If you had yours farther away, they won't be able to see you so frquently so they make it slower movements. I was hungry until cream of wheat time (day 7 but I did it on day 5) with lots of Water. It was a miracle. good luck. -
5 days post op - AND HUNGRY!!!!!!!!
learningintuition replied to newmefeb8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 5 days out i was on fclear liquids still. google it, there's lots of options. I am 7 days out now and I'm on full liquids and about to add in some veggies per my doc. i notice that most people do a lot differently per their docs. And funny my hunger feels like the pain I have when I'm too full...so make sure you got that under control. Also get some protein Water from gatorade...it helps. -
Work after surgery
learningintuition replied to miz z's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought i was going to bounce back. I was going to return 3 days later. WRONG. the fatigue was so much so that after about an hour, I had to lay down. I had to take a week and only on friday was I able to actually stay up all day. So plan on at least a week. I underestimated and screwed up my leave time. -
Can I eat too much?
learningintuition replied to faithstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't gotten there yet but I was told the same thing by the doc and his groups. We have to attend them after and they're weekly. One of his ideas is "fill your pouch with the most nutritious items you can most of the time" So good luck!!! You can do this!
