My doctor made it clear he would not do the surgery if I gained weight so I behaved myself. It was hard but worth it.

I am two weeks post op and just now I am getting a sharp pain in my right side under my breast and at the top of my rib cage. Any thoughts? Anyone have this?

Six small meals a day is what I was told.

I am only one week out and I would not say I have felt hunger but my stomach gurgles a lot. Easter was actually easy because I wasn't hungry at all. My NOSE was hungry but my stomach wasn't.

One week post op for the sleeve here and I would tell you emphatically to GO ON YOUR TRIP. The recovery time is a little longer than people led me to believe and I would hate for this trip of a lifetime to be ruined for you because of nausea and gas pain.

The pain from the actual surgery is not bad. The pain from the GAS that needs to get out of your system from the blowing up of your abdomen to the anesthesia gas is the WORST. I am one week post op and the gas pains still hurt. Do a lot of walking. Even though it hurts, the movement will work out the gas quicker.

I only had to do one day of clear liquids. The two weeks leading into my surgery I had to do low fat, NO CARBS. I never could have done two weeks of liquids prior to the surgery but now that I am post op, liquids aren't that bad.......hang in there. I think your MD may be overly cautious with the liquids so long before the surgery.

I have wasted several hundred dollars trying to find a protein powder that is palatable. The only one I found that is acceptable came from GNC. It is called Pro Performance AMP. I got it in chocolate and it is ok. I know I am not getting enough protein in daily and it worries me but I do have faith that as I adjust to the sleeve, it can and will get better. Hang in there.

I am anxious to try creamed soups for the full liguid stage. Did anyone have any issues with them?

When did foods stop tasting funny? I am only 2 days post op and I have this nasty taste in my mouth

How many days post op did it take everyone to feel like the anesthesia was worked out of their body? I got pain and nausea and I am two days post op.
