    Would you sleeve again?

I just responded to this exact post but it wasn't this post. Are there 2 of them? Anyway I would do it again in a hearbeat!

    Would you sleeve again?

I would do it again in a hearbeat! I'm down 74 lbs in 3 months and only have 56 lbs to go until goal. I could NEVER have done this without the surgery. I can finally eat like a normal thin person. I've had no problems at all. Good luck to you!

    sundae???

Re-read your initial post below. You asked our opinion and I don't think any of us have said "it's not okay" in a mean or cruel way. We just said it like it is. I know I for one certainly didn't mean to offend you, just to tell you what I thought someone shouldn't do that just had surgery based on my limited knowledge. I meant it more to help you than hurt you. You don't have to follow what we say but if you ask the question then expect all sorts of opinions. We're a diverse group here. So don't be so dang sensitive please! Take what you want to use and disregard what you don't. It's your decision at the end of the day. I just hate to see anyone fail at something that is so extreme as surgery because no one said anything to them about it because they were concerned they were being offensive. We were much more assertive than offensive. There is a difference.
  4. Hang in there! It gets SO much easier after surgery! You can do this!

    sundae???

I think more than the fact that it might not make you feel well is the point that we're supposed to be changing our eating habits after surgery and if you go right back to your old eating ways then the future doesn't look too bright, sorry to say. There are many healthy things you can eat during the liquid/mushy phase that are much better for you than an ice cream sundae. Just my opinion.

    What do I tell people?

Wow, Eyemallrt kind of went off the deep end there on Driverdeb. I get what Deb is saying and she wasn't trying to be cruel. If you don't want to tell, then don't! I think getting upset when people say "why not tell?" has more to do with how they feel about not telling than about anything else. Like Deb said, calm down! It's nothing to get upset about. If you don't want to tell, then don't! It was just her opinion.

    What do I tell people?

I tell people that ask and so it's spread around work. I don't care what people think about it so it's no big deal to me. Maybe because I'm a man? I don't know but I told people because losing so many lbs in such a short time is bound to cause speculation about surgery anyway and I don't want to continually have to lie about it when getting questioned. Now I won't get any questions. All I get is "you're looking good" and questions about the surgery because people are curious about it. Some are even thinking about getting it now after seeing my progress. To each their own. If you don't want to tell then don't but plan on getting questioned about your weight loss and having to lie a lot. Or being evasive about it anyway and saying it's something else. Just my two cents.

    sooo many vitamins!!!!

All I take is one adult Vitamin in the morning along with 2 calcium tablets and then in the evening I take 2 calcium tablets. The B12 I only have to do once a week. Again it's funny how so many doctors differ in their requirements.
  9. I had never had surgery before and I had a catheter AND a drain for 10 days. It's not bad so don't worry about it. Pain in minimal if any at all. You'll be fine!
  10. Sorry to be so personal, but the new sex positions we've been trying are awesome! Oh and lets just say I can see what's going on a lot better these days. By the way, I'm 68 lbs lighter since my June 6th surgery.
  11. If you're anything like me, you won't have to sip them by the time that rolls around. I drink a little slower than I did before but I can still put 'em down.
  12. Yep, 50 and holding! Thank you!

    I Just Wanna POOP!

There are a lot of threads on this topic if you do a search on constipation. I didn't worry about not going for a week. When I was ready, it happened. If I have to take something I'd take a fiber additive before an actual laxative. Those should be a last resort.
  14. DIdn't the surgeon give you a list of do's and don'ts for food? You can't have anything but full liquids 4 days out! Wow, call your surgeon's office and ask them for a list of appropriate foods for the phases you'll be going through. Didn't you have a nutritional class before your surgery?

    scared....

Relax. They aren't going to find it's dangerous down the road. There have been studies done on people with stomach cancer that had to have most of their stomach removed just like us and they lived long and healthy lives. Everything is fine and will continue to be fine. The only thing you have different than before is a smaller stomach. That's it. And trust me, you'll never want to have it reversed even if it was possible! Enjoy your weight loss!
  16. I started out trying some of that Bud Select 55 but it tasted like piss Water and I just started drinking regular Bud Light. I know it won't lead me down a bad road because I never drank much before. It's nice to have a normal life with my friends on the weekend if I want to have a few beers, though.
  17. Carbonation doesn't bother me one bit. I'm not a soda drinker, but I drink a few beers every weekend with no problem. And still losing steadily.
  18. GreginMI

    Considering instead of placation

Your insurance paid for your surgery with only 50-80 lbs to lose???

    getting off of the PPIs

I just ordered some calcium citrate. Pretty sad that I have to learn about this on an internet forum instead of from my doctor but I'm glad I did!

    getting off of the PPIs

If this is true, why don't all surgeons inform their patients of this? I was never told about Prilosec canceling the benefits of taking calcium carbonate. Why would they tell you to take the two together if that was the case? Doesn't make sense.
  21. It gets a LOT better when you get to solid foods. Until then, it pretty much sucks and you have to deal with it. Sorry!

    GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!

    You said "do do". lol
  23. GreginMI

    Not Feeling Full yet

The liquid stage and even the mushie stage to me just plain sucked. The worst part of the whole process in my opinion. Once I got to solids I was good to go. Hang in there! It gets a LOT better!

    the wife...jealous

    Great reply. Well put.

    Not Feeling Full yet

You shouldn't be eating anything solid at 1 week post op and that is why you aren't feeling full. You don't get the restriction until you eat solid food. Liquids just start sliding into the intestines as soon as you drink them which is why you don't feel full. Trust me, the first time you eat some dense protein like a piece of chicken or beef you'll know what restriction means!
