What's up with all this burping!?!
Kerry replied to Smof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bump like a pig now everytime I eat...I'm guessing its because I swallow too much air for. My tiny stomach now...I've heard many people here say that its normal...lol I just worry about going to a resturant -
Is it possible for the sleeve to not work on someone? Is it possible to never lose weight even though they have 85 percent of their tummy taken away? Has anyone ever heard of someone failing their sleeve and it being a waste of time. mine isnt doing anything 5 weeks into sugery and feeling like i wish i could get my tummy back and try a different surgery. ugh

Kerry replied to CCinINdiana's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
hey there. that is cute...i understand exactly where you are coming from also. it was very scary for me as well. I went to Juarez Mexico and i would go again and again if i had to! it is very different and let me tell you people are far from receptive as far as the location i chose. But i dont care. it was my decision and i have decided to own it! i hope you find your comfort. It was a great decision for me and many others on here. Welcome to the site and im sure you will be able to settle alot of your fears here. -
okay so im a little over 3 weeks and i have stalled now for well over a week..ive actually gained 3 lbs. i dont understand what the heck is going on!!! is it normal to stall this long? and after the first stall does the weight start to come off as fast as the begining or is it normally slower? I know i could be not eating enough but man this is very discouraging!!! i am having a hard time with this..i just keep feeling like im going to be overweight all my life and still never eat normal...not that i want to pig out but just saying if im not loosing weight i might as well eat like an overweight person...I know that im being silly and emotional but i go to the gym everyday and im going to start back to Zumba tomorrow night...surely this is just the normal 3 week stall but im just afraid it should have been over already!!! any advice or maybe if anyone else has been through this could shed some light would be great..thanks yall!!!
-
thanks soo much. i know this is something everyone goes through it is just very frustrating. and im glad to know that stalling more than 2 weeks is not abnormal. again thanks everyone!

Thanks guys for your comments...it really does help so much. I just don't understand. My friend is dieting with out WLS and is loosing faster than me...I just wanna scream...hey chickadee..if u can could u post what ur doc says..thank you soo much

HECK YEAH!!!! here you are the night before the rest of your life! enjoy its so nice on this side...Even the hard stuff isnt that bad when you think of all the easier stuff to come!!!
-
well i dont have any insurance that would cover also. I chose the sleeve because it is doc maintance free!! If you get banded then you have to pay cash for each and every adjustment. ive heard that the first year people get an average of 6-7...all the places around here (2 hours away) that will fill a mexico band charge 150-200 per adjustment. on top of that if you poke around here a bit like i did it made my decision even easier. The amount of people that had serious damage to their stomach from the band.

well i am going to be honest with you!!! it is not a walk in the park..but on the bright side THeres is a really good reason for you to do it!!! what diet does your doctor require?
-
There is nothing that this surgery would say you couldnt. with exception of personal pain. if you feel like your tummy is still sore then either wait or tell your Dear Hubby to be gentle...My hubby did the same thing..hahaha..MEN!!! Too Funny!

(presurgery i really did enjoy it) but i just cant muster up the giddy up and go!! im doing decently okay on my protein. gettting roughly 50-60 grams a day! and water im trying to get the same...its difficult to be drinking all day! im getting both my vitamins in ...i just dont understand it!! i wanna go go go but i dont! im affraid that im going to stop losing weight...any advice or is anyone else feeling like this? im also sooo sick of soup...i cant wait to bite into something normal!!

1 week 3 days out and I ate some crackers......IDIOT!!!
Kerry replied to Hip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
and thats all that matters....im not saying im going to eat what i want when i want...BUT i will not make myself miserable to the point where i say F it and eat fried doughnuts and ice cream all day! even during the losing stage it is important to remember that keeping yourself sain is equally important. Food is a part of life....all of it!!!instead of treating it like a forbidden drug im going to allow in moderation every once in a blue moon...i may hit the gym up pretty hard afterwards or an extra zumba class after but i will enjoy the little things in life too. -
wow that is great!!!! have you had the energy to work out? what is your daily routine looking like...trying to figure out what is wrong with me..lol i want to get to the gym and sweat sweat sweat but just feel blah blah blah
-
i booked with priceline.com...names my own price...it was great...i saved a whole lotta money....but i flew delta and had a fine experience.. i packed wayyy to much..but i would definately pack a robe or something to through over you for walkin in the halls after surgery...comfy slip on shoes...and i enjoyed my laptop alot!!! it does get kinda boring..oh and ofcourse your own soaps and stuff...my hospital supplied the shampoos and stuff but i was soo happy i brought my own..just makes you feel better i guess...and i also brought a small firm pillow to hold over my tummy when i had to sit up or lie down..kinda helped to put pressure on my tummy when doing stuff like that.
-
wow that sounds awful...i wonder if everyone has that problem with sweets like that? how far out are you?
-
hey there and welcome to the site. I tell you if it werent for me joining i would have been lost as far as my fears and concerns. I cannot answer all of your questions only because i was a self pay and it was a little different...but what i can tell you is that i had more pain and more discomfort from having my tubes tied than this surgery. i had mine done on May 9th and came home on the 12th. It was great compared to what i convinced myself i was going to go through. The only thing that bothered me really was a bit of gas that collected under my ribs a little. but i just got up and walked and walked and walked. Even if you dont feel like getting up just make sure you walk. today i can honestly say it doesnt even feel like i had surgery at all and its only been 13 days. the post op diet is a pain...lol im ready to have some variety in my diet! As far as talking your clothes off the only time you would be uncovered is probably during your surgery..and at that point you will be asleep and not even be aware.... just remember that the fears you have we all did...you are not alone and any time you have fears, doubts, concerns, or questions you have a place to go!
