You look amazing! Of course we can tell the difference! Good job!!! -
Good luck!!! Sorry about the job, the only positive thing is that you won't have to stress about going back to work straight after surgery and can take your time to recover. I had no problems with surgery nor with my trip to a foreign country, no troubles at all, so I wish you can say the same in couple of days! Keep us updated!

Way to go! Congratulations!

IS THIS NORMAL???? ONLY 22 pounds lost in 4 months
bilka replied to mbridgeman27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with meggiep. I completely avoid carbs twice a week and have them once a day the other days (very small amounts, not a full meal). I also try to avoid completely snacking or if I do, I normally have something healthy like a milkshake of strawberries and milk. Don't get me wrong, I do have social life, so sometimes I'll have a glass of wine with my friends or dinner, but just sometimes. I see that you started your journey at a relatively low weight, it normally comes off quicker when you are heavier. Now that I am about 155 lbs I am struggling much more than I did at the beginning (and I am only 3.5 months out). It's coming off, this is the important thing. Keep on working on it. If it's not this Summer it will be next and then all the ones after that! -
From what I read most of us got strange "visits" after surgery. I had the aunt over right after it and then 2 weeks later. Our bodies have to deal with a lot of stress don't worry too much about it, she'll go away.

Congratulations! You look like a completely different person! 65 lbs in 7 months and you seriously call yourself a slow loser???

I was thinking the exact same as Beadingnurse! Congratulations on the weight loss, what a success!

My hair is thinner but so far no hair loss, I don't want to jinx it, but it hasn't happened! Since I got home I am taking cod liver oil capsules, one per day every single morning. I don't know why but I am convinced this is helping me a lot.

6 months and 150 pounds later - Half way there
bilka replied to samnyc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Brilliant! 150 pounds is an amazing weight loss already! I love success stories like yours! You will get to your goal, no matter how long it takes! -
It totally agree with Tiffykins and Nancy R., I too always had troubles keeping the weight off. And the struggle of a diet, I always suffered so much hunger while dieting... I was unhappy all the time. Now I can deal with a deal, I don't feel like I am depriving myself of something anymore. People were like "you ONLY have to lose 81 lbs, why can't you just go on a diet?". Because I can't. Because I was too hungry to resist temptations. Now everything is fine. Of course you have to adjust to your new life and your new stomach, but once you do, you understand what precious gift you were given. I mean, are you sure you are ready to deal with diet and hunger all your life? If so, why haven't you done it before? These questions made me make the right decision. I haven't had a single regret.and I would do it all over again.

I am so sick of people and their freakin comments!
bilka replied to Shanny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is annoying, but at least you are not alone, I think we all get these comments... It is annoying, and, as you said, no-one said anything before. Now everyone is like "Oh, you really needed to lose weight" or "Good, but now you have to stop, what's your goal?" (I am so not telling anyone here how much I weigh, EVER!). Just p**s off and leave me alone. I'm just glad I didn't tell anyone about the surgery (apart from my family). Yesterday it was funny though. Hubby had a friend coming over who just lost 7 kgs (15 lbs) over the last 2 months. He was complimenting himself and telling me everything about his diet. Then he asked: "You did lose some weight too, didn't you?". Me: "Well, about 25 kgs", he: "Then you win". I WIN? Seriously? What do I win? -
Welcome! Great to hear you decided to improve your life, it's a great thing! I see you are on the 6-month-diet, so I wish you the best for it. Keep us updated, your surgery date will be here soon, time will fly.

Taking Pills--Question
bilka replied to lkcraig316's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The surgeon made me swallow HUGE (seriously, huge) pills after surgery and had to keep on taking them for a whole month! I really trusted him, so if he said it was ok, then I guess it really was. Unless you always had problems swallowing big pills, you shouldn't have problem after surgery either... -
I was 95 kg per 166 cm, I didn't have to go on a diet, but that's my experience, you have to follow the advice of your surgeon. What did he say?
-
You can really see the difference! The new hair cut really suits you, I like it!!!

I wish your fiancee to feel better as soon as possible, I am so sorry she had such a bad experience.

Hi I am now having every single morning a home made smoothie: 200 gr of strawberries and 100 ml of skimmed milk (and a couple of ice cubes to make it cooler): fibers, proteins, liquids and a great tasting breakfast! Less than 100 kcal because strawberries have only 30 per 100 gr. Sice I'ver started having it every morning things down there are getting better, at least in a natural way without using medicines. If it can help...

I love, love, LOVE NSV! Isn't it amazing what "little" things can be so amazing? Congratulations on your great job!
