Today I was out having a bloody mary and suddenly I had a hankering for Raw Oysters, I'm curious if anyone has tried them after being banded. I LOVE raw oysters and of course know that there will be sacrifices I need to make, but if oysters are something I could have on occasion, I would like to keep them in the rotation! Anyone try em??

I had surgery 8/5 and today marks 4 weeks out. I have only lost 3 pounds in the past 2 weeks. I am averaging 600-800 calories a day but also seem to have plateaued. I'm hoping that when I go back to work tomorrow and get back on a regimen maybe this will help move things in the right direction.

Having a band to sleeve revision. After 9 months of waiting to meet I durance requirements for revision I'm finally just 4 short weeks from surgery. I'm enjoying my last 2 weeks of solids before getting back on the pre-op mostly liquid diet. It's going to be nice to have the month of August off to recover. Who is with me?

Had surgery on Monday. Today is Wednesday and I'm about ready to go home from the hospital. Still pretty sore but overall feel good. Can't wait to get home. One word of advice... Bring Chapstick! Lips will be really dry after the intubation and you can't drink for a bit. It will do you wonders. Do not forget the Chapstick! You'll thank me later.

I agree with some of the others. When you deny your partner intimacy they will eventually try and fulfill that need somehow. Not everyone feels like romping all the time, esp with a 15 month old! BUT, you have to find a way to heal that part of the relationship. Whether through counceling or just sucking it up and giving the guy some action when you don't necessarily feel like it. Something has got to give. Imagine the rejection he feels. You'll bust out the vibrator but not give him affection? I'd feel terrible about myself too if my partner did that. Relationships are a two way street.

For those who had band to sleeve in one surgery..
Jammy replied to Band07's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My NP emptied my band about a month ago. He put me on Phentermine to help control my appetite until my revision which will be next month on Aug 5th. It def has helped. I've even managed to lose almost 10 pound with it over the last month. -

July 29 sleeve who is with me
Jammy replied to Dee White's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be having my band removed at the same time as my sleeve. I work in the hospital where I'm getting my surgery, so I went to see if the insurance gal had an approval for me, but she took today off. Wish me luck! Hopefully I'll know monday. -

I might be! I'm waiting for the insurance company to give me the thumbs up or down. If up, I should be on July 29 too! I'm a revision from Band to Sleeve. -

I have Empire BC/BS and need revision from Band to Sleeve due to complications. I requested approval in September which was 15 months after my original surgery. My BMI was 39.6. I was denied on account of my BMI being below 40 and it not having been 2 years since my original surgery. Friday was my 2 year aniversary to my original surgery and my BMI is back up to 41. I am going in on Wednesday to see my surgeon and will again make a go at insurance approval. Wish me luck!

Hey gang. I'm new to VST (though I joined ages ago, I'm newly active). When is everyone's surgery date? Mine is Sept 17 at NY-Presbyterian/Columbia. Pre-op diet starts on Labor Day! What a treat... Is anyone else a revision surgery from the LapBand? Am I the only one?

I'll be having revision surgery from LapBand to the sleeve next month. My pre-op starts in about 3 weeks. I am curious if anyone else has gone through surgery around where I am. I was originally in the 290s, am currently about 225-230 depending on what I ate for dinner. I was banded 14 months ago and because of complications I'm am being revised to the sleeve. I'm curious to hear from anyone with a similar story. How did you fair after surgery? How much and how quickly did you lose? Was it worth the extra surgery in your opinion? Any words of advice going forward to the sleeve from the band?

super upset here. I'm a revision patient. got my approval denied. going through appeal now. BMI is 39.8 and they're denying it based on a BMI below 40 and that it hasn't been 2 years since surgery. (15 months isn't enough I guess). super upset!

I'm a lap band patient about to have revision. I lost about 70 myself and only when I started to get new clothes that fit did anyone say anything. Also the people who were around me everyday were the ones who found it less noticeable because it's hard to notice a change like that if you're around the person every day. Show someone a side by side pic. That's a good way to get a reaponse. Hell, post some here! You'll def get some feedback!

Not weird. I've heard some say the same. My doc says that it's to shrink the liver. Every doc has their own feelings on it though. I wouldn't be alarmed.
