I do know where Henderson is, although not sure if we've been there we go to Tyler and Longview all the time. Hope your house sells soon. I too learned my lessons about praying for patience. I will pray God get you a buyer soon and a good price. get home as soon as you can. -
I have officially lost my first 101 pounds and I am setting my first mini goal. I weighted 245 pounds after I had my son, 22 years ago, so I want to start over at 240 and go backwards from there. It's a small goal, but a huge one at the same time. First 20 then 42 to onederland. OMG I can see it!

Grehlin Hormone...Really?
jovigrl62 replied to Can'tweight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 mo out and I still have days were I have to remind myself to eat, other days watch out. I just learned the difference between actual hunger and indigestion. All those years thinking I'm hungry, but no a little purple pill would have have stopped it. Head hunger is another concept I'm working on and that ones tougher. I guess what I'm babbling about is I am having to learn what hunger is for me. I hope that helps some. I'm still confused about it all, but it's fun learning it. -

Sugar free hot chocolate or Apple cider are my fav bedtime snacks. It's less sit up time for me to digest when I'm getting sleepy and the warmth help me sleep. Low cal versions. -

Can I Just Quit Now????

Knorr makes a cilantro bullion hi in sodium, but a pinch or 2 in not going to hurt. I made tortilla soup with out chips and added spices to veg and beef broths to. I made strained potato soup too. I don't mind the sugar free stuff, but I watered down my SF koolade a bit and decafe tea and coffee. in week 2 I was making decafe coffee drinks too. Ck with your dr, but I was told if I could puree it down and it would go through a straw(important DON'T USE THE STRAW) lol I could drink it. I believe I was doing that week 2. If you can see through it is the rule and I can make anything see through. I also used licorish to just hold in my mouth, but I like that too. Keep venting till u feel better. -

I finally feel I have a grip on my diet. I can now move around with out a walker, still need the cane for long outings and I'm right at 100 pounds lost. Today, feeling very proud of my self, I post on Facebook a picture of my small lunch meat, cheese and crackers about 210 cal and 18 g of protein. My total intake for the day will be 987 cal, 59g protein and 50 oz of fluid. I was so proud that after 6 months I'm getting it. Hell, after my whole life I'm getting it. When one of my most loyal supporters chimed in "You need to look into EET fitness. me and so n so are doing it. You are Starving yourself to death" Why do they do that? 2 women, that yes they care about me, but neither have ever been more then 20 pounds over weight their whole lives. Both are also 5' 10" knock outs. I just needed to vent to some one that can understand. I have lots of supporters, but only one person I personally know has been through this. Feel defeated. blaah This is what I had for lunch.

Hey Looou, I have had no negativity till now, but will heed the advise. I see you use my fitnesspal. Love it, but have to be careful there too. Obesity help too. So far this has been the most positive board, but then we are all hopefully here for the same thing. Hey congrats to you only 64 lbs to go. I can't "weight" to get there too. -

Lilly you are so right. I was very nice in declining her advice, but I have not heard back from her, but if I do I will use that very same tack. She kicked the hell out of me meaning to or not. MeMeMEE I love your name. I sing and that's bring back memories. Congrats on the journey your starting I would not trade mine even thought I get kicked once and awhile. Let me know when you get your surgery date. I'm happy to meet you both. -
Need advice after 6 months
jovigrl62 replied to janinemaire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6months out and I have stopped losing for the last 3 weeks. No gain, but at that dreaded plateau and it is keeping me from my 1st mile stone of 100 pounds. I have not really exercised either and I was at 362 before surgery. My fluid in take has been off, but I'm now really watching it and my protein. I start my exercise next monday, althought I have been in herab since may of last year it has just been strengthening, now I will walk with out a walker and do some lite aerobics. All in all I think you doing wonderful I agree that exercise is the key. Good luck. -

Backing Out of Surgvery
jovigrl62 replied to cutie0615's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back and forth till I had the date and that was it for me. I could have had a bypass in the early 90's, but I was scared. In the late90's and the mid 200's, but I knew I could do this, until my knees failed me at 47 and I weighted 318 pounds. It took me down and I gain more weight up to 362. I finally went to the seminar and went through the motions. I was not going to do it. I had support and friends and a job to go back to and until I made up my mind nothing helped. When I got approved and it was a for sure thing I was in and I have lost almost 100pounds in 5 months and I have learned what head hunger and fear hunger and bored hunger is and what indigestion is. I thought it was hunger. I don't need a wheel chair any more and I'm not using my walker much mostly cane and I hope in 6month to be free of that to. I'm glad I waited cause it's so much safer then back in the day, but if I had only known what my life could have been like thinner 20 years ago I'd have done it then. Some of us have to be hit in the head to wake up and smell the coffee. Good luck and let me know how your doing.
