    Almost Two Weeks post-surgery

Congrats on the weight loss. That is amazing. My surgeon recommended a protein shake mix that I purchase from him. If your's did not maybe go to a GNC and tell them what you need it for. I am sure others on this site have idea's of over the counter one's you can try. I have an Atkins that i use if I am caught with out my mix. It is not that one though. This one is in a yellow container and I get the chocolate royale and i swear I feel like I am cheating. Most protein drinks make me gag, like you say, but this one is pretty good as long as i drink it really cold. I hope you find something that works for you.

    RIGHT TRACK

Be sure you are getting enough calories. This is vey common. We are trying to be so careful and that is awesome, but if you are not getting your recommened calories you will stop losing. This is very frustrating. Breakfast should consist of protein and a carb. Mashed potatoes have been an easy food for me, just be careful with it. Carbs make you crave more carbs. Make sure that protein is your main dish for each meal. Be careful with yogurts. There are some out there that are very high in sugar count. I found Carb Master at Kroger. Lots of good protein, taste great and low calories. If yogurt is all you are having for breakfast add granola or nuts to it. Cheese is easy as it can melt on in your mouth some and is a great soft food and protein. Can you do eggs? I do scrambled eggs and it is a "go to " for me as well. If you are not calculating your calories, start now. At least for a few weeks to see that you getting enough calories. I can almost bet you are not. Also you are woeking out every day. That will add weight. So you must put enough calories in if you are working out. I hope you took your measurements. When you are not losing pounds, you could be losing inches. I HIGHLY recommend taking measurements once a month. I only lost 2 pounds one month and I was so discouraged, when I took my measurements I had lost over 11 inches off of my body. Suddenly I was not discouraged anymore. To tone cost pounds so make sure you are getting enought food in. Make sure it is healthy foods and it will take you far. I wish you the best of luck and loojk forward to hearing of your success.

    NOW WHAT...The 1st 6wks....

Hi and welcome. I am new to the site but not to the lap band. It is true the first fill will begin to give you some restriction. For now your body is healing and adjusting to this foreign object it is sensing. Hang on and do what you are told. Don't push the limits even though you can. Chew the mess out of food, do not drink and eat at the same time and really start using the practices now so that when the time comes, and it will, you are prepared and have less issues with the first fill. Typically the 1st two fills are small and just a little restriction, where you could eat a cow before, next will be a small calf, then a whole chicken. By fill three, a chicken wing. So all this to say, it is coming and trust me don't push it. Let it come in the right timing. Prepare yourself mentally as you heal for the changes still to come. Have you been told to drink something hot before you eat? I still practice that faithfully and it has been almost 2 years for me. IT WORKS, you may have questions and concerns but bottom line it works. I did exactly what my surgeon said to do and I could not be more pleased. Keep posting, keep asking and soon you will be ready to give support on here. Best of luck and I can't wait to hear more about your journey.
