Weird symptoms of being to tight?

Okay tell me if this makes sense? This is a great thread btw. I've had the mid back pain and burning, which radiates to my right shoulder off and on for at least 7-8 mths. Part of me thinks i have had it since I was banded but just ignored it thinking...well of course i'll feel something i have a foreign object wrapped around my stomach! Nov pain increased but so had my portions. Had complete unfill 1st week of Dec. as of this Jan still had pain. I have had an UGI, Esophagram, Endoscopy and notta...has turned up according to my surgeon. Been on a couple courses of Prilosec with no real improvement. Did a week of muscle relaxers and felt better. Was off a week and pain returned. This week on Tues. I went to a Chiropractor (after reading this board) and stangely enough i have felt very little pain over the last couple days. SO..here I am. I decided to fast today becuase my eating has been really OOC and this eveing I felt so weak I decided to have a piece of turkey for some Protein....violia PAIN? What is going on? Hiatel Hernia? Reflux? Band affecting gastric nerve? Truly I do not know? and my surgeon seems pretty unsure himself! DO i have to have surgery again to figure this out? Just looking for feedback....have read a lot on here...and realize probably no one answer? Frustrated, Overeating... Renee

Pain that just won't go away?

Thanks Teresa, I am not sure what to do. I did see a Chiropractor yesterday had some adjustments...felt pretty good today and it seemed the pain in my back had shifted. However this eveing it has returned however the pain seems increasingly diffuse along the right side of my spine between my shoulder. I don't get much in the way of chest discomfort, vary rarely, the pain tends to stay in my back. Sometimes the pain seems worse when i eat other times....not so much. Some morning i wake with the pain other mornings it comes on after a few hours of being up. Some mornings i eat, some I don't. I have stopped drinking coffee as I thought it might be the cause. I really don't know. So if you folks feel strongly it is my gallbladder...and my band surgeon wants to do exploratory surgery....do I have him take out my gallbladder? I am going to get a second opinion from another band surgeon..I absolutely trust my surgeon but often 2 heads are better than one. Growing tired of pain..my food volumes are increasing like crazy...I want my band filled. Thanks for all your help Renee

Pain that just won't go away?

Thanks guys and gals....yeah I've been wanting to get a massage..see a chiropractor...it's hard when you do the 8-5 grind. But I think your right so I am going to have to find a way to get in to see someone. I have had my gallbladder checked..labs, ultrasound yada, yada...nothing showed up. Thanks Renee
  6. I have been having pain in my back, between my shoulder blades which radiates into my right shoulder and arm off and on since Oct. 06. In Dec. 06 I got a complete unfill. And have since had an UGI and an Endoscopy both of which have come back normal. My surgeon has treated me with a course of muscle relaxer's and pain meds which made the pain go away. After about a week I weaned off those and within a week the pain has returned. Now I am taking 80mg of Prilosec a day...but it seems the pain only leaves temporarily...I have it now and haven't eaten anything for about 2 hours. I have no problem eating (unfortunately). My surgeon says if it doesn't get better they want to do exploratory surgery...I was banded in MX..this would obviously be an expense. Just looking for suggestions...anyone else go through this. Thanks Renee

They say I have no pouch?

Thanks Leatha for your reply Have you heard of this before...whats your thought as to why it would migrate up? I didn't pb but maybe...once a mth for eating to quickly. Didn't feel too tight could eat anything was wanting another fill. My best guess is a was over eating.....I just haven't heard of it migrating up. Praying for the best...not sure what to do if is was to lose my band or if I keep my band and the pain does not go away? Anyway will keep you all posted. Trusting God for clear direction
  8. My surgeon thinks that I no longer have a pouch? When everyone talks about slips it seems that they talk about the stomach coming up through the band......how do you end up with no pouch...the band moving up-or stomach moving down? A little history---I was banded 11/9/05 and have always struggled with a general sense of discomfort....I would say that i could feel my band. The pain is located between my shoulder blades and radiates into my right shoulder. It is long story but I think i have had reflux for a long time and didn't know what it was. I had an barium swallow about 6mths after surgery, an abdominal ultrasound to rule out gallstones and extensive blood work. Everything was Okay...doc didn't think it was reflux. I was left to just deal with the pain. In November the pain seemed to get worse and became more persitent. I had a complete unfill Dec. 5th because of the pain. I had the unfill under flouro and at that time I had a pouch...now I do not. As of Jan 6 pain did not get better even after the unfill. I had an endoscopy last week that is when the said it appears i have no pouch. I will have a barium swallow Monday. thanks for any advice Renee:think
