One of my biggest problems is eating too much pasta! That's one of the main reasons I got surgery lol. I know that Pasta is my weak point, so I don't have that everyday anymore. I will eat it now only 1-2 times a week. I don't even pay attention to carbs in other foods, especially yogurt or anything like that. I consider those GOOD carbs. But the breads, pasta, potatoes and the thicker carbs are the ones that you need to cut down on. And when you do have your pastas, you can only eat as much as your band will let you! So that is still cutting back on them. Pick 1 meal a day that has the "bad" carbs, and the rest of the day eat meats, veggies, yogurt, etc. Cutting them out completely never worked for me, and it doesn't for most people either! You can still have your pasta and potatoes, just not in excess! -Colleen

I got my surgery back in April and as the doctor said, I have not had any carbonated drinks. I certainly miss an occasional glass of my favorite champagne! Has anyone tried carbonated drinks since surgery? I ask because my mother had gastric bypass and was told not to have carbonated drinks but she can drink them just fine. I know that surgery is completely different, but I was wondering if anyone has drank carbonated drinks in small amounts? Thanks!

Lol yes it is.

You're ports are under your rib, on the left side. Mine is. I have 3 tiny incisions and my port is the larger one

I bet if you mix it with pineapple juice it would be delicious!

Okay, I was talking about paying $10.00 for the nasty Carb Solution stuff that I previously bought. I explained all of that in one of my posts to try to get you to understand what I meant. Once again, in response to your first post to my thread. I meant: "Wow, Muscle Milk for $5.00 is a great deal. I paid $10.00 for Carb Solutions, which was unpleasant to the taste. Thank you for telling me about the good deal on Ebay." That is how I meant to say it. I'll be more descriptive next time.

I think we are having a HUGE misunderstanding here. My post, the start of this thread, had nothing to do with muscle milk. I was saying that I bought Carb Solutions and it was nasty and that I needed help finding a protein shake. You replied with advice about Muscle Milk, I replied back saying "can't beat that, thanks", and then you replied with the response of "don't be a smart ass". I was trying to explain myself but I guess it isn't getting us anywhere. I'm sure Muscle Milk is good, I'm most likely going to pick some up. Good job on your weight loss.

I was banded on April 14th and still feel a little sore. At first I couldn't even get up without someone pulling me up. I couldn't even lay down in the bed because I just could move anywhere, I was sleeping on the couch because I could roll off the bed lol. It does get a little better and less sore everyday. Now I am moving around in my normal ways, but it still hurts to laugh, cough, sneeze, etc. It is sore, not sure when it will stop but it is MUCH better than before!

YAY that is awesome!! I was soooo excited when I got approved! It was all a breeze from there! So far, it is the best thing I've ever done! Congrats!

Ooo I love samples! Thank you I will have to try that!

I am sorry you see it that way but you are being overly sensitive about that response. I said "haha" just as laughter that I paid $10.00 for something that I found that tasted disgusting. Not a smart ass response at all. And by the way, I said I can't beat that price of the Muscle Milk you suggested considering it is sold for more than $5.00. That is what I meant. I was thanking you for suggesting a cheap Protein mix.

"oh wow you sure can't! I paid $10.00 for that nasty stuff haha. Thanks!" Meaning, wow that is a great price, only $5.00 for Muscle Milk on eBay considering I paid $10.00 for the stuff I bought, which was disgusting. Which is why I started this entire post, because I wanted something that tasted good. And then I ended with a "Thanks!" for the advice. Now explain to me how that response that I originally posted was being a smart ass?
