GROWLING HUNGAR PANGS
big2twig replied to Pebbles D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hang in there it gets better. I'm almost 7 months out and now have all of my taste buds plus some the growling has gotten less frequent also. When you get that drink some water and if that doesn't work just take one small bite it should hold you over for a while. It was very frustrating at first but things will start to even out soon. -
Today is my 6 month surgiversary it was easy to lose at first because I had no other choice. Couldn't eat and nothing tasted good at all. No hunger for about 3 months but now i get it a little (nothing like before)My taste buds are back and I can hold about a cup before I have to stop. I've been stalled for month as far as the # on the scale goes but I'm still losing inches. 6/21 I started a couch to 5k program and have stuck to it. The race is in 2 weeks and I'm really excited.I'm not fast but just finishing is going to feel so good. I've lost 70lbs and have about 30 to go.The real work is starting now. I've been hitting the carbs hard lately so I've gotta get back on track. My knees no longer throb at the end of the day and my energy level is way up so I'm trying to stay active to make up for the bad food choices. I thought I would die the first couple of months. I was hospitalized for dehydration and could barely get around. I hated it but now I'm so happy I did it. This site has helped a lot. Its nice to know you're not in it alone. When you see that others are going through the same thing it gives you a sense of normalcy. For me the mental battle is the hardest so all the support shown here is a huge motivator!

My new bladder...is this okay?
big2twig replied to decamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here...I'm 4 months out & still only go about 3 times a day & it's very little then. Im glad to see it's not just me I was starting to worry. I think we're ok. I know I drink a lot less because I used to gulp down tons of water.now its just small sips -
Finally hit 200~took me 8 weeks to lose 47 lbs. Seems like it should be more since I've been having so many problems but I'll take it. Seems to be getting a little better with fewer rough patches. Not luvin it yet but maybe I'll get there in another 50

Does everyone have a drain after surgery?
big2twig replied to fatBgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if they had one in during my surgery or not but when I woke up I did not have one. That was my biggest fear of all and I was surprised not to have one, but thankful -
How long did you wait before drinking from a straw?

How long did you wait before drinking from a straw?
big2twig posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just curious to know if you think it's still a bad idea at 4 weeks out to go for the straw. I think I could drink more if I use one but not sure how bad the extra air is for me. The Dr. said not to use one but thought I'd see if there were any rebels out there and if so, did it cause any problems? Thanks -
I'm 4 weeks out and need color/cut on my hair.is this a bad idea since my hair is thinning?

back to the hospital for dehydration
big2twig replied to big2twig's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks to all...I'm doing a lot better. No pulp orange juice has helped a lot I drink it as a meal & its loaded with potassium. I never liked it before but now I crave it -

back to the hospital for dehydration
big2twig posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, Monday 3/21/11 was 3 weeks for my sleeve and I had to be readmitted to the hospital for dehydration and testing. I hadn't eaten or drank much at all and it finally caught up to me. I tried but everything made me sick just the thought or smell of food made me gag. I had to do the leak test and thankfully it was negative. Tuesday morning I had to do an egd and they stretched it out a little to try and help. I'm finally back home and pray that I can keep up my fluids and vitamin levels. REALLY don't want to go back again! Anyone else been through this with helpful advice? I just don't get why some people have it so easy and then its so much harder for others... -
I returned to work yesterday and was just sleeved 2/28 so 2 weeks for me but I'm struggling a little and I don't have a lot of physical activity. The Dr tried to get me to take 1 or 2 more weeks but I had to get out of the house. I'm 35, 5'5' started out at 247 and weighed in at 219.8 this morning. You might need 3 or 4 weeks tops depending on how things go. These past 2 weeks have been really hard. They say it'll get better in a couple of weeks...I sure hope so! Good Luck with it

25 reasons for sleeve surgery
big2twig replied to lash44's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is the hardest sh* I've ever done. I expected it to be a lot easier. Im only 2weeks out so I'm still healing.I've lost weight other ways over the years but it always came back and brought more with it.the sleeve is a tool that will hopefully stop us from cheating ourselves. So no nothing's easy about this path
