    Not feeling right

Did They give you nausea meds? I couldn't think of drinking for the first 2 days so I took the nausea meds and drank! Try making a smoothie, really thin, with the things you like and add in peanut butter or your protein shake. It helped me, I was not getting enough protein. The gas pain is the worse thing! Try laying at an angle where your shoulder is lower than your stomach, I know it sounds crazy, but it helps move the bubbles to your stomach out of your shoulder. massage the stomach around the incision also helps do it softly. I have had the gas in my shoulder for 4 days, but these help. Good luck!
  3. I was banded 4 days ago and am going crazy!! I was told I need to be on a liquid diet for the first week and then start adding in thicker liquids and then soft food. Any advice on this?? I have been living on soup and jello. I went to Jamba Juice today and that was like Heaven. What else can I do? Do I really need to be worried that I will throw up if I drink too fast?? That is my biggest fear!!
  4. I made an amazing liquid taco soup!!! Tomato soup, pinch of taco seasoning a pinch of fat free cheese and a teaspoon of fat free sour cream! All melted and AMAZING!!!!!

    Sleeping on your stomach?

I was banded 5 days ago and have been sleeping on my stomach/side from day 1. You just need to get every pillow in the neighborhood and lay on them. Leave a little "hole" where your sorest spot is so that you are supported and comfortable! I found sleeping on my back hurt 10x's worse! Also with all your pillows, elevate your lower half to help ease that darn gas pain!
  6. I'm not eating any soft foods, just liquid. Anything I can suck through a straw is what they said, well damn I can suck a chocolate cake through a straw if I try hard enough! :0) I went to lapband.com and went through the liquid recipes and am going to try some today. No I dont wait 5 mins between sips. This is the hardest part for me. Not drinking a lot and fast. My first word was "ink" for drink! :0) Thanks for the advice!

    Gas pains post op

I had my band done 4 days ago, and still have one gas bubble left. It has been stuck in my freakin left shoulder. I asked my sister, a nurse, how I can get rid of it, she also said walk walk walk, also lay upside down in a chair, yes it does hurt to get there, but it is worth it. It helps move the bubbles to your belly where you can rub them out too. I walked with a pillow on my belly pushing gently to help move the gas. I did end up buying Gas X today, and I can say that my pain is less. I wasnt going to try this as losts of people say it wouldnt work. I asked my sister and she said it may or may not work but once the gas is absorbed in the stomach then it will help. It did help with those, not the shoulder. Good luck Stu71!! And good job for making this choice.
