Your start date and start weight for the 5:2 method
feedyoureye replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Globe, keep in mind 5:2 was designed as a longevity plan, and weight loss came second. Its still working even when you don't lose weight. If you like it, do it! AT least the 5:2 part..... -
How was your 5:2 day today?
feedyoureye replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
supposed to fast today but didn't. Up with dad in the ER last night, got 2 hours sleep and missed dinner so only 900 cals anyway... close enough. I need my stress eating today! Keeping it regular, but 1400 cals are filling the bill instead of 500... Oh the joys of old age, I really feel for my parents. Going to spend saturday and maybe sunday with them. (gearing up....) Love'em, and yet... dad is such an over thinker and control guy... he is full on 100% the whole time. RELAX dad! -
Brilliant!

My Bariatric center has a group every month, I might go this next week... I haven't gone for years, and then only once... I was the only sleeve there... perhaps there will be more this time. -
No Restriction
feedyoureye replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a point where your stomach relaxes. You can eat more at this point. Doesn't seem like it would be overnight though. When you put a cup of lettuce in a blender, it turns into what.... a forth of a cup? Also, if I eat very slowly, I can eat more.... I can eat almost twice as much eating over 45 miniutes or so. soup, liquids, crackers, lots of things I can eat more of. Do try the protein first thing, you can check your restriction pretty quick on this one. -
I really think you cant get in enough nutrition on 600 every day. So sorry your body does this thing! The TDEE is how much you burn with your BMR plus any other calories burned. The BMR is just the calories you need to survive... in bed or resting. Im not sure if these formulas reflect the same accuracy on everyone.... But thats the idea anyway.

OK, we have skimmed this topic a couple of times... so I'm going to lay it out here. I have my MFP set up to figure my calories to lose 1 1/2 pounds a week. I did not lose that or even 1/2 pound a week on that much. (1200cals) I also let my fit bit walking and other exercise calorie burn to be added to my total cal allotment a day (1200-1600 cals a day including exercise cals). That is what I eat on feast days. Now I eat around 700-1100 cals a day LESS on fast days. This is not what the 5:2 people recommend... they recommend eating "normal" or TDEE on feast days ,and then if you don't lose, you can count your calories on feast days too. Most of us eat quite a bit less than that. My TDEE is supposed to be around around 2150 - All energy expended a day. What do you think about this?

The kind of dancing I do (Belly Dance) really shows how my skin has a mind of its own. It goes one way while my muscles and bones go the other! My teacher (who is awesome!) keeps saying pull that gut in, don't let it hang! I think she must be talking to me, but really probably to everyone... but my gut does hang, cause it has a mind of its own! I also have about a 2 or part of a 4 pack, but the other two are hidden under skin. I work to not downgrade this part of myself... I think I am very lucky with my skin, it has bounced back pretty well for a 60 year old. I try to keep positive, and am happy I look good in cloths. My husband keeps telling me, "I'm glad you haven't lost all the smooshy parts!" He loves them. I'm glad about that.

At times I found I just needed to treat fool like medicine. I needed it to live, to thrive, so I ate what I needed to... cooked and measured and counted. Ate my veggies and fruit and protein. My hunger came back stronger later. Occasionally my hunger is really down, but it only lasts for a meal or two. Usually, I love food, and eagerly plan what I will cook/eat in a day.

My nephew was stationed in Iraq twice. I can never know how it really was for him... Rough. Friends died, good and bad...I have to say he has grown up a lot. You take care, don't need to add any more stress than you already have on your shoulders girl. New low. 175.2. Started 5:2 13 weeks ago at 190.9. And fasting again tomorrow, so hope it sticks around for a while (or less of course) Now about one pound from my WLS low. I am so happy this is working for me. I go in for a checkup in 5 weeks, and it sure would be cool to be at goal! -

Lynda has given you some great advice. Best of luck! -
You guys know what is the most attractive thing about a man? Love of life. LIfe in the big sense. I have known men with a pasty paunch, no hair, deformities, disease and brain damage who have IT, and they are positively magnetic. It adds a glimmer to any body possessing it. Those with vivation need not worry about what is conventionally less than perfect. (whatever that is). I thought I had made up the word "Vivation" so I looked it up to make sure it was not something creepy(hehehe....) and I saw that it is a real word and means exactly what I was meaning it to! Vivation is a form of meditation whose primary aim is the permanent and pleasurable resolution of suppressed negative emotions. The word "Vivation" comes from the Latin word vivé(to fully embrace life). Vivation integrates the core principles found in yoga, tantra, breathwork, and meditation so there and don't you forget it! This applies to the women folk as well!

Your insight will help you so much! Part of the Vet experience includes the changes your body goes through... I guess a vet is someone who has exited the honeymoon phase! Its hard to see you are really there until you have been there a while....Some don't really see it for years! Congrats on winning your insurance challenge and your 88 pounds.

I didn't see it.... what the heck, I know I miss a post now and then, What a shock that must have been! Really I cant even imagine what that must have been like, take care of yourself Globe! While traveling I drove by a meadow where a bunch of people were standing at the edge and watching something, I looked over and saw a bunch of people.... I later (down the road) was told that was a boarder skirmish going on and people had been killed... It looked like "practice" to me... My mind could not wrap around the reality. (Thai boarder) -
.. I just averaged my weekly intake and its 1185 a day.
-
I eat 12-1450 on feast days depending on exercise level. Yesterday, 1150. and around 500-575 on fast days.

That does suck! Maintaining? That is something at least.... -
Stalls suck. Congrats on the 53 though, thats great! My guess its not your exercise, sounds like you are doing great with that... do you still keep track of everything you eat, drink your water and such? You are a year out? Some of us over a year out are trying the 5:2 plan, and finding some success getting rid of the last few pounds. Look it up and see what you think... there is a show on PBS called "Eat, Fast, Live" (I think...) look it up, it is the basic beginning of the plan.

Ladies, I'm on for tomorrow as well. I stayed on track except a mini size ben and Jerrys, got to say for 280 cals it was NOT worth it! Made me feel like crap too. I hope I can learn something from that! -
How long post-op did you need shakes?
feedyoureye replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try 4-ever-fit fruit flavors, I think they are delicious, mixed with water, taste natural to me. Mango is my fav. I also mix and match the other flavors. http://4everfit.com/component/option,com_rokecwid/Itemid,112/view,ecwid/#!/~/category/id=3779697&offset=0&sort=normal
