Two Year Anniversary Coming Up - Not @ goal and its All my own fault
feedyoureye replied to Pagie's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I have a walking class twice a week for adults with disabilities, we walk around 45 minutes each time, and I take a dance class twice a week in the evening... keeps it regular and others depend on me, so I am less likely to skip it. I then fit in a few other things most weeks, I took up bird watching, so go to the river or other park and walk and look, or work in the garden. -
Starting my first fast today on the 5.2 Diet Plan! Questions.
feedyoureye replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Sounds like you three are doing great! Its good to have others in it with you. I have really liked this WOE (way of eating) it is very flexible, and forgiving. And there is always tomorrow! No need to underdo on feast days, I allow going over a little(100 cals) on some days and usually eat from 1150-1450 on feast days depending on how much I exercise, and people who eat a little more fat have better results too. Glad you have gotten good results so far! I would stick to 500 or a little more on fast days, the idea is to be able to stick to the plan, and eating too little makes it that much harder to do. -
Love your quote!

How was your 5:2 day today?

one pound fat and one pound of muscle weigh.....the same... one pound each! However, a pound of muscle is smaller than a pound of fat... so when you gain from more muscle, you may well be smaller in size...thats why you want to measure now and then and not just weigh. I am bouncing too... from 175.2-176.7....back and forth... hope to settle down soon and I do mean DOWN. I have been using food as a drug the last week on most days it seems... spell that SUGAR. I don't have it around the house (thank the GODS) but there seems to be plenty available everywhere else! I am not going over on the cals, but the content is not the best. STRESS. Im upping my anti stress activities, went birdwatching, wearing a labradorite necklace (voodoo stress reliever), long hot baths with anti stress salts, happy TV, deep breaths..... I really need to get back to meditation... used to do it every day for 12 years.... -

I use that chemical laden Cool Whip Free or LIte product. It really makes my home made SF pudding taste like something a little bit extra special. (real cream would be even better... but off my list too!) -

Fast today, so far so good. I just planed out what I'm going to cook/eat tonight, and it made me feel even better.... secure in a way. Like I have something good to look forward to. This really adds quality to my fast day (sad that food is so important to me! but glad that I can really meet that need on fast days with so few calories) -

So glad for you Cathy! I'm fasting today. So happy I am, I gained almost two pounds this weekend, has to be stress, I did some crap eating as well, but never over calories, so hopefully I can get back on track this week. Went on a lovely 2 1/2 hour bird watching hike yesterday... working on the stress! -

Two Year Anniversary Coming Up - Not @ goal and its All my own fault
feedyoureye replied to Pagie's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Just a heads up... We will not be able to eat like a pig (even a cute pot bellied one!) when at goal. There will be a new normal then... and I think it will look pretty much like my habits are now... maybe just a little bit more flexibility... but not that much.... I have had to let go of the idea that when Im at goal, I will be able to do as I like in the eating department.... -

Protein and veg heavy. I do a low carb protein drink in an iced decaf, spread out over breakfast and lunch, eat some veg and protein dish for dinner. -

5:2 is not a quick fix for most, and you are so close to goal, it may take a while. Keep in mind that the long term health benefits of 5:2 are the main thing. -
What the HeII!? Doesn't sound like a compliment to me! Someone jealous or something? That just plane rude. They wish they were a size 4, and couldn't just give you a real compliment.

First, you look great girl. I also have a BMI goal (the very top, which is 169 for my height, '5"9") I am currently 175.6. Getting close. I would not eat in a way to lose that you can't sustain over the long run. Do MFP, maybe a fitbit to track exercise. The 5:2 helped me get almost 16 pounds off. Its a plan I can live with forever. I eat 12-1600 cals of normal food on feast days, 550 on fast days, I do track, and will always have to do that. Exercise 4+ days a week... to control my shape more than my weight. -

^^^^^^^ What she said! I did the same thing as you, lost to within 5 pounds of goal, then gained 22 pounds! I am now one pound from my lowest weight from WLS... and only 6 pounds from goal. You can do it too! I tried several things before I found a plan that worked... logging everything in MFP, even if its a crap choice, cook most meals my self... started using a fitbit and applied the 5:2 plan has worked for me very well. (with about 12-1400 cals on feast days) You just need to jump in and get something going, if it doesn't work, analyze your options and jump in again until you get it. This is a lifelong project, think in the long run, goal, then maintenance forever. -
