Wow Georgia, that is quite a tough wakeup call! Sorry for your loss, and glad it spurred you on to get the surgery! -

Watch sugar and carbs, protein first. Drink all your water. I am not a low carber, but a lower carber... some need to cut them mostly out. -

Legs normal, I'm happy. Butt gone, husband not happy. -
What Was Your Ah-Ha (Or Oh Crap) Moment?

All the dieting to look better had failed.... then the health started going down... and the weight going up above my "NEVER will get over this" mark.... I started seeing WLS as a health measure, not a beauty measure... this got me going in the right direction. -
Did Anyone Have To Gain Weight To Qualify?
feedyoureye replied to losingthefatt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was asked not to lose any. My pre diet was just writing down what I ate and not lose. -
What Is Skinny Anyways?
feedyoureye replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The least I ever weighed as an adult (in my 30s) was 145.... for a minute. After years of thinking anything above that was fat, I felt normal at 145. I now (Im 60) bounce between 168-172... at goal with the desire to get the bounce range all under 169. I wear the same size I did at 145... I feel "normal" except the skin thing going on.... I think 145 would leave me skinny. I really don't think I want to go there again. I would like to feel normal... which I do, thank goodness, lots of work on the head over the last 25 years and the sleeve! -
Post Opters- did your hungry go away forever or return?
feedyoureye replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That loss of hunger is part of the "honeymoon" of the journey for most people. Some never lose all of their hunger, and many have it come back after 6 months or so. You will have to wait and see for yourself how your body reacts, and do take advantage of it while you can, it may not last forever. It is an awesome help where it is there though! The first part of the journey is a great time to really work on making new habits that can help you if the hunger returns. I lost mine in the beginning, it came back after about 6 months, but it has not come back in the same force as before surgery. Best of luck! -

How was your 5:2 day today?

We used to have family christmas parties where there were 20 people over (first at my moms moms, then at my parents house) where the christmas presents actually covered half the tree in a giant pile. At the time I was more concerned with which ones had my name on them than anything else, but later on realized what excess it all was. The food was over flowing... and the women , mostly one or two of them, made that part all happen...as well as buying and wrapping all the gifts... the men mostly paid for it all I'm sure. We do an extremely scaled down version now... for the kids more than anyone, and its interesting to see who it is that is picking up the mantel... this year my nephew did most of the cooking with a few offerings from other family members. The kids had a blast, and did not feel like they had to have presents up to there heads. It was fun just making the day about family. We stuck around and talked with my nephew and that really was the best part of the day. Craig and I too the dog for a walk by the river afterwards, he just got a new camera, and we did a little nature walk photo shoot. ...here is as picture of him taking a pic of lil'Sukie are old yorky girl the night before.... Have a nice day all! -

Now I want Chinese! Maybe Ill do a stir fry. Had carbs layered in carbs covered with carbs sprinkled with sugar for brunch... it was good, but mostly pie shaped! I need to get in some veggies and protein right away! Was a nice visit with family, 4 little kids who were lovely. Lunch out tomorrow with the same family and a few stragglers as well. Have a nice evening and tomorrow all, enjoy and take care! -
Good for you Lynda! I have bounced around a li†tle this season, bu† today I am still in my bounce range. Only two more days of feasting, and I can ge† back down tø losing a few more for good measure. Staying within the bounce has been my goal this season... not losing, but staying where I am. Have a great day all.

You have some serious †radi†ôn globe! Sounds really nice. Our traditions are changing too, mom and dad, who usually have taken on the duties of bringing everyone together are getting older, and can no longer make it happen. My nephew is taking things on, bless his heart, and everyone pitches in with food and whatever is needed.(money). Its good, and a little sad, the passing of an erra. You take care now, and enjoy what you have... you and your gun loving co-workers... Merry Christmas and EEE-Haw! I can only imagine the crew that is there with you. Adventurers? -

Got up early †ø soak in a ba†h, Have the oven preheating. Im making an apple tar†, organic blueberry creamcheese †ar† and a pineapple upside down cake... trying †ø use all whole grain, low sugar and good quali†¥... still will have some serious calories bu† should be filling....we usually meet for late christmas eve dinner and presents, bu† someone in †he family is working, so we will meet for a brunch today and christmas out tomorrow. Don't know where all the funny font is coming from....? Now that I am a bird nut I was looking at the website of a local wildlife rescue place that I have taken injured birds to in the past... they posted they need paper towels and toilet paper... they use them to line the many many boxes they use to put the little birds in.... so I bought some and took them out there... got semi lost, took me an hour driving all around , but that place is so cool. Its located in an old airforce base... McClellan AFB, in the old raidar building... which is a funny rounded topped shape, so I could see it from afar, but a maize to get there... I got there wi†hin minu†es of closing †ime. Take care today ladies, enjoy †˙e bounty and remember those who aren't as fortunate. -

I don't see any reason to make fun of this person. People have to come to this in their own time. You have ALL been there... I know I have been, so, show some compassion. If she needs us for our experienced support, she is welcome here now or in the future. -

The best way to be a toffee buzzkill is don't forget to weigh it, set aside portions, then log it into your MFP along with everything else. I break it into little pieces, because part of the appeal of the candy for me is the way it feels when you crunch it, (pick up another piece and repeat until you are in a diabetic coma) I had a toffee day at school last week... three pieces... and wanted more.... still do! Its such a lovely drug! SarSar, thanks for reminding me it is fast day! I think I could have easily blown it off with my funny vacation schedule... I'm fasting today too, the next two days will be foodie galore days.... I am still around a pound over my high bounce range... not 10 pounds over, but still.... I will have to hack off around 4 1/2 after the eating events are over to get back to my low...then a couple more to get my bounce all under 169 where I want it. -

Best of luck to you and I would have to agree with Jane.^ Also, through the years I have seen threads on this site, "Would you do it again?" or something like that.. and time after time I have read "In a heartbeat" and "my only regret is I didn't do it sooner" I just knew that one more diet was going to get me the same results as all the other diets did in the past. A little weight loss, and a lot of weight regain. I never really thought about getting surgery until the last minute before I actually did the research and had it done. I had reached the place where I KNEW I was going to suffer and die younger if I didn't get the weight off now. You call going to Mexico "a last resort" Many of the people were at that point before making the surgery happen, and most of them say "I would do it again in a heartbeat" and "I wish I had done it earlier" Thats how I feel too. -

I agree, don't make any decisions on an early date where you drink and jet set.... I doubt you could characterize your future by this alone.... -

Hail sleeve! Sometimes the evil drink seems like such a good idea! Awww! I know I have cousins that might feel that way a bit.... I am there to support them in whatever they want to do... I hope she came away with the idea that you represent hope! Its not really "easy" but does make weight loss possible rather than impossible! Don't feel guilty. Love the pic. My sis in laws all live in another country... If I'm off my face, I can't blame them! -
