Goal- adds more discipline?
feedyoureye replied to gottalose100's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Most of the people I know on here that are at goal say, that maintenance is pretty much like getting to goal. Not that different. Some need to eat a little more to maintain, others need to adjust one thing or another, but my experience is, goal feels great, but the way I act is pretty much the same way I got here. If you say to yourself "Now I am just a normal person at last" and go out and eat like a normal person, you may well gain weight. Diligence is in order forever... as far as I can tell! -
Rockin it, then hit a wall! thoughts please
feedyoureye replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Officially, a stall is 2 weeks with no movement... not even an oz! This is normal.... I know I used to think I was stalling when really, things had just slowed down. I have had a couple of real stalls, and even a big long gain, but keep on track, and the body will lose sooner or later. -
It (made up of many theys) has helped me so much!

relationships: I'm getting sleeved, but he/she's NOT!
feedyoureye replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband has gained a little lately, eating what I leave behind quite a bit, and stress eating. I see him doing it, but I try to bite my tongue... I want him healthy, and do talk about that, but getting there has got to be his idea. He knows he should make some changes, but is just not there yet. The carb monster is just to powerful! I know how that can be! -

How was your 5:2 day today?
feedyoureye replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
H Kelly! Missed you. If interested, I get my "fun" glasses at eyebuydirect.com... they are so inexpensive I can get different colors and shapes for fun. If anyone decides to buy anything from them, I have a member number, if I recommend anyone I get a perk% or something if they put in my secret "code". Anyway, I have bought 6 pairs from them in the last year! Sunglasses too. The most I ever paid was around 65$ for frames with bifocals. Well ,my hubby took off this morning on his motorcycle for a two week trip to Mexico. Lucky dog! I just don't have the flexibility he does to travel like that. Someday again I hope! -
I actually started regaining before I hit my goal. My surgeon did not give me a goal. I finally found what worked to finally get to goal, (to be under 170- I am 5'9" and 60 yrs old) I wear an 11 pant, L top, big bones. I like a lean look too, and do look pretty lean. Although I am happy with how I look and feel now, I could probably lose another 10 to seal the deal (the vanity 10) and am slowly moving towards that but no pressure. I never had a problem with losing too much weight or trying to stop losing... not yet anyway!

I want to lose 5 more pounds too, but I am at goal now. That 5 I will play with and not stress about. I'm good. I just want you to realize how good you are too!

Something Beautiful for Mums...
feedyoureye replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That was beautifully said. When I was a kid I was barely fat. The doc gave my mom dexedrine tabs to give me to help me lose weight. I am so happy she figured out I didn't do so well on dexedrine! It was about that time I figured out that something was wrong with me. And looks could make the difference between being OK and not OK. It has taken me years to get off of that idea.... and even now... sometimes.....that was around 1960. -
December 30,2013 Sleevers
feedyoureye replied to cbwalker79's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
HI Candace, welcome! May I suggest you repost this here: http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/679-december-2013-sleevers/ it is a December 2013 sleevers forum already in place. I will remove this on as soon as you do, Thanks! Kim -
Sound like a good time to go to a Doc and have it looked at. Best of luck with that! I don't know that much about the lap-band,(thats what your label says) so won't be that much help...

Cathy! your a babe! You need a new profile picture, you are much cuter than the one that up now! -
For heavens sake Susie! 4/6? When you were shooting for a 10?! I'm sorry, but you can't have them both... 150 AND 4/6. I say so! Can't you just find some peace and live with the 4/6 and don't worry about the 150? You have done sooo well... gotten to at 4/6..... that is awesome! How about focusing on a different goal instead.. like Gman says... perhaps how many steps you can do in a day, or some other health goal, and not just a "vanity" goal. I think you have the looks nailed already!

We need to get some more compliance from people under a year in not posting here. I know its tempting to just join in, but really it is getting out of hand. Everyone is welcome to read, and join in after they reach a year out. There is a reason this is a Vets forum and not an open forum. Please, if you want to ask a question, you can alway message someone, or post in a different forum to get a broad range of answers from Vets and others. Thanks guys, K

Glad to see Globe and Laura back in the "fold" Happier New Year guys. -
Of course you can call me Kim! Short answer. The almond milk is fine, just count the calories. Long answer, some people seem to not lose weight on the 5:2, and I would suggest to them to try eating no calories for that 18 hour window. Now that being said, I have half a protein drink in that window and no problem losing, and one of the two people who wrote the book had breakfast every morning, so I think the answer is Do it and count it!
