Where has Laura-Ven, butterbean and gamergirl gone? ?
feedyoureye replied to gomekast's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I was at the grocery store as a kid, I used to push on the plastic wrap covering the liver. It just felt so weird. That and the cow's tongue. I don't see that in grocery stores anymore. They have GMO cows now that are bred to not have livers or tongues... or perhaps Mcdonalds bought them all up. You can look, but just don't touch or we will send out the veteran with the ruler to smack naughty boys and girls hands! -
I Really Hate It When The Media Calls Some Celebrities "fat"!

I couldn't agree more! She is not fat, she is stacked! -

Oh Diva! Its like old home week here today! I too had a regain (22pounds) before reaching goal, and part of this was bone spurs.... on the knee of course! I was off the gym and dance classes for 4 months... part of my regain was this Im sure... then went to sports medecin and rehab and Im much better now, dancing again twice a week and walking a bunch. You ever want to go for a walk in Sac, Im around! This is a big boat, and room for us all here, jump on in. Oh by the way, I got the 22 off and finally got to goal, at almost 3 years out, so there is light at the end of the tunnel! And those doggies, they are just as cute as can be, and Im sure they have been great therapy pals for you while you have been down. See you round, Kim (aka feedyoureye aka sukielovesveggies) -
Diva! Welcome back, nice to see you here again!

How was your 5:2 day today?
feedyoureye replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why yes I do! I plan on wearing some shrug thing... I don't wear my upper arms out anyway.... But the waist... will look fantastic! I think it might be time for some tough love for the ex... it will be hard for him, but perhaps the push he needs to get his life started over...which he needs to do. When my ex and I finally split, it was so painful... but him saying he never wanted to hear from me again was actually a good thing in the end. I would never have really split if that was not the case... I was really attached. It took a couple of years to get my shite together, but I went on to have many adventures and lovers that never might have happened other wise. -

At last Wanda! So happy things have kicked in. So you are using a bigger fasting window? I have thought of doing this too... I am happy to stay the same right now, but see a couple of things I could do to get the ball rolling again when Im ready, this is one of them. Cheers! I will be taking pics... too bad my camera is so big, I might have to make a wig for it and wear it as an accessory! I have a trunk of cloths, I will bring to the hotel and mix and match. I have my new corset, a couple of 24 meter skirts and some hats... I used to like to dress up a lot, and luckily I can fit into some of those old things again (yeah!) it is a fantasy event, not tied down to only Edwardian style, it has steam punk, and circus/burlesque elements too... so we will see! http://www.google.com/search?q=edwardian+ball&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=u1TVUvmOIYLaoASs84DIBA&ved=0CEsQsAQ&biw=1309&bih=807 -

That sounds good to me. The hosts forum is at the bottom of the General Weight Loss Forum BariatricPal Hosts I have gotten the word that Laura is taking a break, it has nothing to do with the forum or anything that has happened on it. There is no word if she will be back or not, and she wants us to respect her decision to keep her privacy about whatever it is thats going on in her life. -

It was discussed in the Hosts forum but now I can't find it... the original thread was in the atheists room...its gone now. Butter might know something, he was involved too. I may not always comment, but I always listen. -

Wow! losing a job is a stresser... you say you have two teaching gigs, hope the other is safe... best of luck there... it will be an oppertunity to make your art a carreer too if you want. I find its really hard to do a job, and do art as well... just don't have enough energy I guess. I just found out last minute that I have work installed in a giant great party in SF this weekend (the Edwardian Ball) So taking a little time off to deliver the work, then go down and party at the party... all costume, tons of music, art, plays and circus... been wanting to go for years, and just dropped the guy a line showing interest a few months ago.... you never know when the ship you set sail will come back loaded with gold! I am worried about Laura too... If you didn't know, there was a blowup on another thread with a crazy she-bitch that flamed Laura for something sassy she directed at a friend who didn't mind at all.... The creeper was kicked off the site.... Laura needs to come back and claim her territory! Girl! If your reading this! Don't let that creep harsh your mellow any longer! Before I got this surgery my doc told me it is common for WLS people to have increased depression after surgery/weight loss, and to keep an eye out for it. sounds like lots of salt.... I have been having more snacking urges... I think Im still getting over the holiday treat fests.... I keep doing my fasts (like today) and that has kept the scales in line... at the top end of the range today... but not lower end sense earlier December.... I know what I have to do... but finding the will to do it a little low..... No such thing as TMI here girl. Sorry you are going through this... Drugs and babies.... oh my. It is hard to let go, and let them live their lives.... especially when a defenseless little one in going to be in the mix. Just do the best you can. Sending best wishes. -
How difficult it must be! (((hugs)))... was that capacity test done with cottage cheese or other protein? Some things you can eat LOTS more of... I have soup for dinner many nights, and can eat 3-4 cups of it! The liquid opens the pyloris and it just passes through pretty quickly. Protein on the other hand snaps that thing shut and you feel fullness longer on less.... if it is truly 16 oz of protein, then I would def look into a resleeve... how is your docs record?

At goal weight 7 months post op
feedyoureye replied to weigh-in's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Jumping up and down 1-2 pounds is normal for the body. Just set a bounce range, maybe 3 pounds, and take action if you go over or under that... eat more healthy fats, like nuts, avocado, LF dairy.... some good carbs and such.... until you manage to stay within the bounce. Something that the vets say is don't make the bounce too big (not over 5 pounds) because if you go over that it is harder to lose again.... Congrats you guys, and for most, it gets much easier to gain later out... three years out is the time when we most likely will gain back some weight...get into your good habits now... then hold on to them religiously! -
Some people fail the band, others the band fails them... you are not a failure, you are a work in progress! Just like the rest of us.

Yes you can bake with it. It hardens up over 140... like Protein does, like an egg might. Just mix it with flour, etc. It just is yucky when it is in coffee or something thats too hot... curdles... does not "denature" the protein though...except the texture. Many recipes here: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2010/04/that-takes-cake.html

Upset by old - fat - pics
feedyoureye replied to Indigo1991's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Indigo, beautifully said. I see that girl too, in my own pictures... I feel for her, and it is she who brought me to where I am now. I knew I was fat, but the pics make that knowledge so real. Powerful. -
Could be AFib... could be nerves or even caffeine... I have AFib, and they still did the surgery, but its something you will want to have looked at. The sooner the better.

That is so interesting, I have been thinking about going to my local meeting... haven't been for years.... -
I am not in the "Normal range" Not sure I will get there. And it depends on what chart you look at... the normal range is a moving target! I eat around 560 on fast days, and around 12-1500 on feast days (I eat some of my exercise cals back so the cal goal changes depending...) This being said, some days I eat over... fast days can go up to 700 if I am "weak" or there is a party around or something... this is not too often, but over the holidays.... yes. My feast days have been over a bit lately for the same reason... I have MFP set for me to lose 1 pound a week... this starts my intake at 1200, and as I exercise, the goal goes up... I add (make that subtract) my two fast days to that week, and this is about where I maintain at. Even if I throw in an extra few calories to the days, I'm still eating less than MFP wants me to to lose 1 pound a week. Convoluted, but so far so good.

Nice to see you sleeve! I was off track, and got back on... also the 5:2... Im at goal, and eventually will probably do what you have, and lower my goal another 8-10. Maintaining right now is good though.
