I'm a Buddhist, which is the best of both worlds. I'm relegious AND I don't believe in a creator god....:^)

My husband is not totally for this
feedyoureye replied to weightnomore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
10 years ago I went into my Drs to look at a mole that was changing. She said that it was probably nothing. I asked her to biopsy it, and it turned out to be a melanoma cancer. Sometimes you just have to be proactive. I had it removed and everything is ok. My decision to get weightloss surgery is kind of the same thing. My Drs have never asked me to lose weight. When I started to get high blood pressure, sore joints and high cholesterol... I had to do the work my self and asked for a recommendation to a surgeon at my med center. Lucily, my Dr. agreed and I was off and running. -

My husband is not totally for this
feedyoureye replied to weightnomore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Would he get heart surgery if he needed it? Or would he worry that he was circumventing "God's natural chest pain plan"? Really, you don't need to feel guilty for this decision. Perhaps he needs a talk with your surgeon to get a less ignorant view. This is not an insult to your husband, many thin people just dont understand because its not their experience. -
If you got pregnant within a year of getting a sleeve, what gender did you have?
feedyoureye replied to Alish's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My doc said if I got preg during weightloss I would more likely have twins. This could be because of my age too... Im older. I am also IN menopause... she said I could pop out and get pregnant anyway! -
I was wondering about Seitan, I love it, and make it from scratch..but don't see it on "the lists" for protein...I think if you just add some aminos, its a quality protein...I plan on using it too as part of my veggie protein options.

January 2011 that's so far away

Looks like the January sleevers group is forming up! -
I too lost height... I always said I was 5'10" and with all the med testing and stuff my height was all over the place. One nurse finally said lets use the OFFICIAL measuring device at the office. She took me into a back room and there it was. I took off the shoes and got on. 5'8 3/4" Maybe being fat all these years have squashed me down? More surface for gravity to affect? LOL... a little...

January 2011 that's so far away
feedyoureye replied to NewMe2Bee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am scheduled for Jan 18th. I have to stay the same for that time. I can't lose more or gain... for the first time in my life I need to stay the same! Pretty funny. The time will fly by and we will be there getting the surgery and starting a new part of life. You can do it. Just write everything you eat down and think about the future. -
I am, but don't get sleeved untill January... Hoping it won't be a problem... some people become lactose intolerent or can't eat eggs after surgery.... this would make it VERY hard to get enough protein.

VSG in May 2009 -- not happy with myself
feedyoureye replied to ShannonPA-S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dear Shannon, First, congratulations for the major weight loss! That is quite an accomplishment. I hate to hear you are in pain from your food choices. I hear that stomach acid can make you feel very hungery. It sounds like a vicious cycle... eating and drinking things that give you acid- feeling hungery- eating and drinking things that give you acid- feeling hungery....(or not full) How horrible! Im so sorry you are stuck in this at this time. I had a boyfriend that had gluten intolerance.. it made him very angery when he ate it... It caused such emotional upset for him! Coffee pushes you around too, and can be so hard to kick. This is a big challenge for you...and still you have been partly successfull so far. You have not given up. Sometimes things get just the worst right before they get better... nothing ever stays the same forever... keep fighting, trying different aproaches... you are a smart and kind woman... you CAN find the answers to this challenge. Perhaps a little bit at a time. Perhaps not what you imagined.. perhaps even better than you can imagine...You jumped in before you had all the answers, but now that your IN don't forget to enjoy your life, your little love and the child still inside of you. You don't deserve to suffer... but some small but powerfull part of you believes its in your best interest to resist change. This is your lifes adventure right now. Good luck and know that many people here have similar challanges going on. -

Don't sign up with Gold's Gym...
feedyoureye replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Im so lucky, my gym has no hard long term contract... you just have to let them know and they cancel the next month no problem. I have canceled and gone back without a hitch. A couple of times a year they have no signup fee weeks. They all should be like this! Shout out for Touchstone gyms in Sacramento and the Bay area! They even let you take your dog to workouts and have loads of rock climbing walls and classes. http://www.touchstoneclimbing.com/sp.html -

Thats so cool! Hurray for Goodwill! You look so happy in your picture. I can't wait to be in your shoes. I really look forward to improved exercise experience... I told my dance teacher last night about the surgery... I will be missing her class for 6 weeks....she was supportive and wanted to know all the gory details. I love my dance class girls! -
Is it wrong to keep it a secret?
feedyoureye replied to Monday_thru_Friday's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Filosophia, I too have worked on size exceptance, and have been a public figure... modeling for art photographers and such. I don't want to be seen as turning my back on women of all sizes...and I wont! but my health is important to me. I don't want to die for the cause. I too have told many people after I got my surgery date. Perhaps being seen as the "girl with the sleeve" will help someone whos health is suffering from obesity. You are more than just your sleeve. Some people will talk, but some will see you for who you truely are... they are the ones who count don't you think? You are a pioneer! You still will be able to understand how it is to be fat... and I think this is a gift too...Lots of thin people cant understand what its like to be fat...you can be an example of a thin person who understands... Im kind of rambling here... been thinking about this topic too....I want to make the most of this gift... -
2 months until surgery, struggling with pre-op diet
feedyoureye replied to tiffnie's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
How much do you need to lose? two months will creep up pretty fast... perhaps set small goals, use a food journal... I use fitday.com. Those five pieces of pizza really hit you in the face when you have to write them down and look at the calories come up! I have to keep the same weight for 3 months, and even that is hard. I account for everything...try to keep it at 1600 cals and exercise 4 days a week. Maybe before you go out for something that is so tempting, eat at home first... like a protein shake...just to take the edge off. Perhaps you feel like its a last meal? I have that feeling sometimes too... but everyone keeps telling me that you will be able to eat anything later on... just smaller portions. You can do it! -
Hi ladies, I'm from Sac too, getting surgery at UCD med center January 18th. good luck to you both!
