I read somewhere that weight loss surgery patients should NOT eat these....It was from a Japanese WLS Dr. on a mostly RNY site.... Here it is: Just one word here. DON'T!! They are Japanese food stuff so I'm quite familiar with them. They don't digest easily, and can cause gut blockage--no joke, I've seen and heard of patients here who had to have emergency surgery for gut blockage, and these turned out to be the culprit. Sure, it's low calorie, but since you have a very small pouch and need to get the amount of nutrition you neeed from your small intake, plus the fact that your gut has been rearranged and is not the one straight line the regular layout is, shirataki noodles just aren't worth it. http://www.renewedreflections.com/forums/gastric-bypass-diet/31157-shirataki-noodles.html

14 DAYS POST OP ....WHAT TO DO ON THURSDAY
feedyoureye replied to YOLANDA240's topic in Food and Nutrition
Oh my, thats a hard one! I think I might fake sick in that situation... it would be hard to stick with liquids, and skip the pie... and unless you have the kind of relationship with your aunt and cousins where you can be right up front with what you are doing, impossible to sit there and not say anything without arousing suspicion. Better just send your regrets and promise to attend next year when you can have a taste or two of the nice dishes. By then the cousins will know somethings up anyway! -
Just follow the link, they only sell from their shop in southern california. I got my order shipped. I have only tried one flavor and it was OK. Not too sweet or thick. I figure I will try all the flavors and some of them should hit the spot, then I can order whatever flavor I like best in bigger sizes. When you order bigger sizes you can customize... pick your flavor, protein, aminos if you want them and sweetener type.

I talked to a nurse in my family doctors office who had had RNY by the Dr I am getting my sleeve from, and she had never heard of the sleeve. Its not in any of their literature or web site or seminars... the fiirst time I heard of it was when his partner mentioned I would qualify for it and he would approve me. His surgical nurse tried to tell me I was getting RNY, and then when pushed came to shove, she called back and said I could get the sleeve but the Dr. I had talked to does not do the sleeve... and his partner would have to do it. HIs partner has tons of experience with RNY and few complications, is a teacher and lead surgeon at a major teaching and research hospital so I trust his skills... its just the staff....... I may write sleeve on myself too!

NO PROTEIN POST OP?!?!?!?
feedyoureye replied to lisaenidok's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan says clear liquids for 2-3 days after surgery. Isopure clear is ok. I think you should call your doctor, not as us as you Dr. is the one who knows what you need to do so soon after surgery. Congrats on getting the sleeve by the way! -

You guys are killing me! My husband doesn't shop for real food, although he certainly knows how to find a hotdog stand or a burger joint thats open. I don't eat those so that helps. He probably won't see a raw fruit or vegetable until I start shopping again! -

Sweet and inspirational, thanks and continued success to you. -
I was feeling a little "low", got my D tested and it was very low... started taking large doses (prescribed by my Dr) then regular over the counter D3. It made me feel much better. I use a lot of sun screen, this can cause low D.

My guess is something else is bugging him. He was totally immature and non self realized to act out that way behind your back to your daughter... but my guess is he's afraid of your weight loss, or your sickness perhaps....afraid your going to die or be a burden or he said it: "she went behind my back"...fear of your independence....just playing phycologist here....you know him better than I do.

Stress test question
feedyoureye replied to Bemabound's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't like it very much, but it was over super quick, and I felt just fine afterwards. I was given a drug that made me feel like I was climbing Everest. All of a sudden I had extreme shortness of breath and had to take a HUGE deep breath like I had not had oxygen for about 5 minutes. I felt like I was going to pass out... then no more than 5 minutes from start to finish, it was over and I was just fine. The technicians said some people do not get any effect at all. This could be you. I was sure that with my crazy response, I must have clogged arteries to the max... but my test came back better than normal so go figure. I was also given two shots of a radioactive isotope with a half life of about 2 seconds, I couldn't feel that at all. They were all very nice, and they just told me to close my eyes, and the machine didn't bother me. Some places use the old treadmill way to get up your heart rate, but because we are overweight, they don't want any bad side effects from lots of exercise. There ya go... my critique. -
The Chike bannana is delish! I bought a bunch of samples... I bought the Chike samples, some samples from a local health food store, samples from Vitamin center, and Necta sample pack... plus a giant sample pack from True Protein. There aught to be something in there I like! (and probably quite a few I don't as well) I also found slimfast low carb ready to drink cans at the 99cent store...

Woohoo! Good job girl! -
Congrats on going for the date! How exciting. I don't think anyone that has never had a problem with yoyoing will ever get it. Just like I will never get it about being naturally thin without surgery! I look at naturally thin women and I think "Alien"! I hope to pass for one soon.
