My Job Requires Lifting
feedyoureye replied to vickie6866's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Perhaps for those 6 weeks you can trade off for something no one wants to do... bed pan duty! Promise you will pay them back after 6 weeks, and bring in treats for them or something special, magazines or something for the ones who help you out the most....You don't want to be the one in the bed that needs help! Hey, I noticed how you threw in the "bariatric surgery with a bad outcome"! Do tell!? -
woohoo! Im right behind you, jan 18th

That must be so scarey! 5 is not so bad, I bet you could get that off with some fresh determination. Good for you coming back to the forum. Everyone here needs to hear about all sides of this surgery/way of life, so you are helping US by coming back too. Did you have an exercise routine when you started? Perhaps just walk around the block before breakfast or get a new DVD of something fun and musical... I love bellydance! Just move a little back in that direction and perhaps the pouch test too... you will see results in no time. Good luck and check back in, won't you?

"You're losing too much too fast!"
feedyoureye replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 days out and your eating tuna, spinach souffles, and frozen mashed butternut squash ? Does your Dr. say this is ok? I have heard that the fibers in food can get stuck in your staples, and overfilling can actually pull them out early on... Usually at 4 days out we can only drink our food, Protein liquids and Clear Liquids..... -
I was recommended the Sleeve by one of the weight loss surgeons because my Cardiologist has prescribed I take an aspirin every day, and I have arthritis too. My Cardiologist said he would recommend weight loss surgery if I could restart taking aspirin after I get the sleeve. My weight loss surgeon is not that keen on me taking aspirin regularly, but has agreed to do it as long as I take care.

20 years old, never had a boyfriend.
feedyoureye replied to sbingram12's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm feeling for you girl. Its good to keep in mind that when a man jumps on your body, it doesn't necessarily mean that he loves the real you. Keep it cool, and take your time. Its not a crime to not have a boyfriend at 20. Enjoy your life, keep laughing and having a good time. Take the time to get to know those men in your life for who they truly are too...Some men just are not attracted to big girls, thats true, but many are as well. You deserve men in your life that have good character, and will take good care of you! You don't want to end up with someone just because you are hot! Take care, don't be in a big hurry. I like the idea of checking out self help books... Some of them are really helpful. I did a lot of work on myself before I started having healthy relationships with men. -

I really believe that having a positive and informative forum like this improves the odds of VSG weight loss. It is people like you that stick with the forums, and share their experiences that make the forum what it is. It is so easy to get off track without a friendly compass to steer by. Thanks and congratulations! I hope to contribute to this forum more fully after my surgery. -
Did anyone suffer from palpitations?
feedyoureye replied to rocio123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really hope I don't go into Atrial Fib... but I will be in good hands... I will be in the same hospital I was in when I went into AFib earlier this year for the first and only time.(so far) Each day in the hospital costs me $500... the surgery puts me in for one day... hopefully thats all Ill need! Damn AFib! I am taking beta blockers to keep my heartbeat slow. So you are fine now? -
Same date as me!

Did anyone suffer from palpitations?
feedyoureye replied to rocio123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have atrial fibrillation, and had to get a letter of approval from my cardiologist, and a stress test to just make sure everything else is ok. My cardiologist said that the surgery should improve the quality of my life. It won't get rid of my atrial fibrillation, but will improve my chances of not developing other heart problems. I still will need to take my meds, but might even be able to reduce them. -
..a good question for all of us who have spent so much time implementing restriction and control to try and lose...

Whats done is done, and I hope you enjoyed it! Im sure its the salt thats doing most of the damage. Just for info, I would calculate the calories and nutrition in fitday or other program... sorry to say 3 cups of mac'n'cheese, stuffing and sweet potatoe is prob more than 1000 calories. If you only do this 4-5 times a year at major food parties, you are going to be fine. Just get back on track, drink lots of Water, eat your Protein and veggies, and your body will do what it needs to do, lose weight! Stalls SUCK.

Relax, be kind to yourself. There will be drugs to help with the pain. Good luck and congratulations!
-
I'm sure you can do it! We need to post pics at one year. Lets make sure we have updates on this thread... it would be nice to see how others are doing from the same time frame.

Don't Lose Weight on the DR supervised diet??
feedyoureye replied to Crabadams72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to stay the same too. My BMI is 36.5 with co morbidities. My nut said eat healthy. I had lost about 12lbs before getting to the Nut, and now I have to stay here. I am eating about 1700 cals with an occasional high carb treat when I lose some weight. Very strange having to "stay the same". I lost a pound the day after Thanksgiving...I find it is easier to lose weight now with this mind set. I have to gain weight more on purpose to keep it the same! VERY strange indeed. I am having to do this for almost 3 months. I am going on vacation for three weeks soon, It will be interesting to see if I can keep this up on vacation. -
I have gotten some great shapers at Ross for around the $10 range.. some really pretty ones too! Mostly for the high waist and long line thigh type. I bought some other tops from on line...the kind you see advertised on TV some times, has a long body that pulls over your hips then a solid back and straps over the shoulders and your boobs are left to fend for themselves in your bra...out front...? That one is kind of expensive, but you can find a little better deal on Ebay...
