I just bought a mini muffin tin to make little baked things in. -
Any suggestions for Pureed foods?? YUCK!!

Last night I mashed up some tofu, and seasoned with onion powder, a few drops of vinegar, mayo and bacon salt (a low sodium vegetarian salt I got from Cost Plus) It was tooo good. I had my first feelings of restriction eating it... hurray! -

Protien questions regarding lactose issues
feedyoureye replied to NoEscape21's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Lactaid and soy are both fine. Whey might even be fine, as most folks with milk problems are intolerant to lactose...You have time, so get a few sample of soy and whey, and give them a try! I have become intolerant to milk at this time... just a little... I hope this changes as I am a vegetarian and that really limits my choices....good luck! -

Please HELP... What does fullness feel like????
feedyoureye replied to Txchickadee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two weeks out, and starting purees today. I had 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for breakfast (I chose that amount from what others here have said...thanks) and I ate it really slowly. Right after I finished the little bowl, I hiccuped 5 times... just like some of you have described, and I figured I must be full! I could kind of feel the cottage cheese squishing around in there, maybe in my deep throat a bit, but not unpleasant or anything. I know some of you describe cottage cheese as a slider, but I think that was my first real experience with restriction. Im sure denser things will be even more evident. I am so glad to experience this, I have next to none drinking soups and such. -
To Pre-op Diet .. or Not to Pre-Op Diet
feedyoureye replied to brazcan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even though I only did the clear liquids for two days before, I lost 5 lbs, and that was nice to jump off from! Think its good to take your vitimins and eat really healthy as much as possible, so you are tip top for the stresses of surgery. Check with your surgeon about when to stop taking some vitamins... like Vit E which is a blood thinner.... -
Please help I hate my protein
feedyoureye replied to Wildorchids's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I liked Chike before and after surgery. I have banana and the chocolate flavors, I mix with soy milk to up the protein gms. It is not toooo sweet, but is very creamy if you like that. The banana (which I am drinking right now) Kind of tastes like banana and graham crackers to me... I was thinking a tspoon of peanut butter would just set it off nicely. Chike is a meal replacement product. -
My doc would only give my work a 6 week off order...no less. I may be able to talk them out of a week or two later... I think its great to have a little extra time off, to get to know your sleeve and your limits too. I am at the beginning of my 3rd week right now, and I could probably go back to work now... but I think 4 weeks would be even better.

You can get a no sugar added (not sugar free) pomegranate "molasses" at middle eastern stores that is sooo delicious on greek yogurt. It is just a concentrated pomegranate juice. You only need a few drops, and the flavor is POW! Right in the taste buds. Great in dressings too. Not too sweet at all, thick and full bodied with a little sour and a little bitter, like pomegranate.

To Pre-op Diet .. or Not to Pre-Op Diet
feedyoureye replied to brazcan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had to do a clear liquid diet for two days before surgery. This cleaned everything out and reduced my liver. Everything went well. I also lost a few pounds, and that was a nice kick start for the eight loss. -
Looks like all us Januaries are done without a (any big giant hitches anyway..) hitch! Congrats all, and good luck in the coming year!

I just went out and bought a bottle of white chocolate and a bottle of peach Torrani at Cost Plus....I found a bottle of SF terramisu and a bottle of pomegranate at Ross too...some off brand.... I have no Idea how they will taste, I will break them out later and see!

I just had to have something raw today (two weeks out) So I pealed half a cucumber, threw it in the blender with a cup of water, blended the heck out of it, strained it into a glass and drank it. It was so yummy and such a pretty light green. It didn't bother me a bit (this is being written about one hour after) and I got my cucumber fix. It probably would have been nice with some yogurt in it too...

Have you noticed that most Yoplait products contain high fructose corn syrup? Why do they do that!?

What's going on with my stomach??
feedyoureye replied to faithstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a PPI? Proton pump inhibitor for acid? it sounds like you might have excess acid. -
I like the Nectar pretty well too, the caribbean cooler did need ice, or I thought it might be good in some crystal lite. I can't drink the vial stuff, I'm a vegetarian and usually they contain non dairy animal products. Also, the "Protein Drunks" title gave me a chuckle...
