I find sitting up straight helps food and drink go down, and gas go up... then I tap on my chest a few times, this gets the bubbles up better... usually what feels like a bunch of gas is just a tiny bubble. Avoiding putting gas in in the first place seems the best idea, not putting more in.....

Is it possible post-op to have a Vegan Diet
feedyoureye replied to former_vbg's topic in Food and Nutrition
Im a vegetarian, and do eat some eggs and dairy, however I have become lactose intolerant, so the milk product are minimal right now. I like tofu, but its pretty bland out of the box, find good recipes with yummy sauces. I make seitan and this kind of product is high Protein and does fill up the sleeve nicely. It can be done! I don't want to contribute to the meat industry either. There are good ground "beef" products in the refer section in Supermarkets, Soyrizo, dry TVP (texturized vegetable protein) which soaks up great flavor when cooked, You can also get "chicken" powdered broth that can jazz up soup and such with a chicken flavor. just found this link with some ideas... I have used most of these and they are really good. They are not meat, but close enough for me. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/460945/top_10_vegetarian_meat_substitutes.html?cat=5 -

I agree, time to get out the products and have a hair experimentation day. Maybe a girlfriend (with nice hair style) can chime in with some ideas. Sometimes you can cut a different style into the bad cut... time to invest in some hair style mags if you cant style your way out of it. Girl, the good thing is, it will grow back. I am a chicken and cheap, and get cuts that grow out nicely so I can wait a long time between cuts. Oh yes, and kick that stylist tot he curb!....and as a last case scenario, there are some fantastic hats out there right now! Don't let it get you down.

OK, this may sound a little crazy, maybe not... but at the end of a 4 week stall, I had a little talk with myself. I realized I had some issues with saying "No" and gave myself a little talk about how I am an adult, and can now say no very well. I think eating was a way to say "No" in several different situations. After I did this, I started losing weight. Other factors- I upped my calories by about 100 a day, and started dance class again(for about three days at the time I started to lose), and ate a little bit of junk. Even with the added exercise and calories, I still think the talk just let my body relax a little.

PCP not supportive of surgery
feedyoureye replied to kpbrighton's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes surgeons want to know you will be compliant. I was actually told that on my psych test that I was a slightly un-compliant type... and should make sure I followed the rules. He may just need to document your diet to be able to write a letter for you... -

Eating protein before or with yummy sliders helps keep your blood sugar level and helps us keep full too and slow down the sliders' slide!.... -

Welcome and congratulations! -
Do you log your food in a journal? Like fitday.com or something? That can help me to see where Im packing in more calories.... I hear the stomach can stretch a little, but at 12 months I would guess it is stretched as much as it will... but I would not recommend overeating... perhaps measure before eating to just make sure you don't overstuff the tummy....

What is the best tasting PROTEIN shake???
feedyoureye replied to Weightbgone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got one today that I think is very good. Its tropical mango flavored. 4EVER® Fit Fruit Blast™ the Isolate - Tropical Mango It is very fruity, you mix it with Water, and it is NOT creamy. I have been trying several with an eye towards the summer and something that tastes more fresh. I like this for Breakfast too. I had tried a sample first, and went out and bought it today. They also make strawberry kiwi. Whey Protein Isolate Great Tasting Mixes Instantly 25g of Protein per Serving Refreshing Fruit Flavor Aspartame Free Non GMO Zero Fat and Only 1 carb 33 servings per container -

...giant salad bars.... no more to fill my gullet..... huge bowls of steaming veggie soup with croutons...., mounds of eggplant parmesan, and those seven layer slices of diablo cake I used to treat like my lover in front of the TV..... I will settle for a bite here and there, a taste , a nibble.... I will even learn to love you....I will make my stomach a temple, and fill it still... but not with those long gone giants of promise.... Good by ghosts, goodbye and good riddance. -

keeping ur stomach?
feedyoureye replied to Justalfe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my doc if I could get a DVD of the operation, and he said no... because of liability... I asked If i could have my stomach, and he acted like he didn't hear me...hahaha! I have a friend in NZ that just got sleeved, and she asked for her stomach, and they gave it to her in a bottle with formaldehyde. She is giving it to an artist who uses natural forms in her ceramics to look at. I wanted to make a coin purse out of mine... -
Help, 7 weeks out need low carb meal ideas
feedyoureye replied to Ibejjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wheres the veggies? Im a vegetarian, so I have to shake it up to get my protein... I eat all kinds of beans, baked dishes like ricotta, pasta sauce and parmesan.... veggie meat balls, veggie meat loaf sandwiches (with half of a low cal ww bagel), bean or split pea soup, refried beans with cheese, three bean salad, tofu with a little teriyaki, homemade ricotta raviolis -I use super thin won ton rappers and make two or three raviolis with ricotta and basel. I decided I would become even more of a foodie, and that means having to cook for myself a bunch... -
Fantastic!
