So glad you are feeling better. The smell thing gets better with time.I found it took me a good 5-6 weeks to really start figuring out the sleeve and eating habits... just stick with what the doc said, and things will get easier.

Something INteresting at Support Group Meeting
feedyoureye replied to lkcraig316's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its so great that you have a meeting like that just for sleeves! My meeting is RNY only, and very nice people, but I would love it if we had a sleeve meeting. Oh and by the way, I love my sleeve..... -
I had my post op appointment yesterday and down 23 pounds!

I have been using a Protein drink called "4 ever fit" tropical mango , its not milky, has a pretty good mango flavor and is semi clear. I drink it first thing to get some protein in early. 23 gms. Its the best one I have found. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&cp=0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&q=%224+ever+fit%22+tropical&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=2643263773626736005&sa=X&ei=Eh6GTZ7ADo-isAPIw6zpAQ&sqi=2&ved=0CC4Q8wIwAg#ps-sellers -
5 weeks out stomach pains

Perhaps developing some lactose intolerance? I guess we can get tummy bugs just like before surgery... glad your feeling better. -
ATTN drinkers, here's my story
feedyoureye replied to Derp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I understand "testing the waters", but with all the warnings and rules about drinking, I would be very careful so early out. I too challenge compliance in most areas of my life, but want to lose my 100 in a timely manner without regret or accidental alcoholism or any other transfer addictions either... Even Grey goose has calories, and three of them have about 189, 2/3rds of you daily at two weeks.... -
I have been experimenting with recipes for my mini muffin tin.... I make a chocolate chip cookie muffin that is good. They are still around 91 calories each, but reduced glycemic index, high Fiber and some Protein. This is a working recipe, so kind of a work in progress....one really hits the spot with morning coffee and an egg when your out a way from surgery. chocolate chips 1/4 cup (you could replace with SF chocolate chunked up) 1/4 cup walnuts coconut flour 2 Tablespoons ww flour 1/3 cup besan flour 1/2 cup (chickpea flour, could use soy flour or navy bean flour) soy isolate 2 scoops (=1 serving...you could easily add more for more protein) i egg 1/4 cup toranni white chocolate SF + enough Water to make a batter 1/8th cup oil ( I use half flax seed oil and half canola- you could leave it out and replace with applesauce for less calories) vanilla mix dry, mix wet, add together and mix till a thick batter (add more water a tablespoon at a time if too thick) spray mini muffin or donut tin, scoop by the tablespoon into 12 portions until dough is used up. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until golden brown on top and sides. refrigerate or freeze. You could also add fiber if you need more fiber, but these do have quite a bit of fiber already. total batch of 12 1,095 calories (91 each) 70 fat (5.8 each if you add the oil) 79 carbs (before taking out fiber grams which I haven't figured out exactly yet... 6.5 each) 50 protein (4.1 each- unless you double the soy isolate)

I have flat feet too, I know I used to carry a lot of Water weight in my feet and hands... I think this could be it. I notice some heavy people have very slim feet and hands, I never did at my higher weights.....

WLS and no exercise? Plateau?
feedyoureye replied to c_gargano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 4 week stall before I was allowed to go back to the Gym... the week I went back I broke the stall. -
I looked up "how to get out of bed after surgery" on youtube, walking, sipping, hot water bottle.....
-
I almost immediately went from a 12w to an 11. I have had problems with swollen feet and "cankles" for years, that seems to be mostly gone now.

800 Pound Gorilla in the Room
feedyoureye replied to Gregorio Punderschmidt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Loves me some hotsauce.... 8 weeks out the stuff burns my stomach (I think the scar line) . I am hoping that with time this will get better, my mouth really misses it. I do eat some pretty mild stuff now, and test the hotter stuff now and then to see how its going. -
Fantastic V! I am at 8 weeks and around the same place as you, just went in today for my 8 week dr. and nut visit, they were both happy. I had a bunch of blood tests done, and they look fantastic too. I just fit into some US sized 16 pants (from a 20) Getting the hang of the sleeve, and loving it. Congrats on your successful first 7 weeks!

I know stalls are normal....but....
feedyoureye replied to feedyoureye's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It doesnt look like you are getting enough Protein, perhaps you had too many carbs/sugar, and the bacon is usually pretty salty. That two pounds should come right off if you adjust those things I would think... also if the tea has caffein, that might be causing you to get dehydrated.... -
VSG revision and MGB reversal- Really need to talk
feedyoureye replied to laurenmarvel's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Thanks. My Doc used a loose 36. I think the common sizes are 32-60 french. My doc said that they are all pretty small and not that much difference in the sizes. -

11 Weeks out...
feedyoureye replied to BlueOctoberGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be proactive, if people don't ask you out to lunch, then ask them! Maybe they don't know if it would be nice or just tempting to ask you out... -
Thats great! Stalls suck, but getting over them feels fantastic!

I am starting to see smaller numbers, and looser clothing too... after my weight dipping and spiking in the same territory. I think it is from eating a little more. SO GLAD. I do love this sleeve and I am feeling great! -
I pat myself on the breast bone... it works.

Welcome back! I was just in richmond this weekend attending a belly dancing festival. Enjoy your return home!

7 months, 67 pounds down....what's next?
feedyoureye replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
SHE is lucky not to go out with HIM.. sorry, but he sounds like a shallow twit! Its one thing to have your preferences, another to call someone a cow and worry so much about what your friends will think! When he goes bald and gets a paunch, hopefully people will be kinder to him than he was to her! -
Good going! Best of luck on that second cut.

Fantastic job, you look great! So glad you took the bull by the horns at a young age, so you don't have to go through all the crap of overweight into your later years.
