Sacramento?

I was wondering if I would ever find anyone else who got the sleeve from Dr Ali! I got my sleeve from him on Jan 18th. Email any questions and I will answer for you. I love me sleeve so far, and have had great care from his office and UCD in general.

The Century Club

Impressive! Congrats!
3. It is a tube that they put down your throat into your stomach, to act as a guide for the stapler.

Water Intake

Im sure this would work! You can also make protein ice cream. eggface.com has recipes its gets better, I can gulp about three smallish gulps, or drink normally now (until my sleeve is full....pretty quickly!) then wait a while and repeat.
5. Take care.....thinking of you.

Weight gain after surgery?

Work at drinking your water, it will help the retained water to come off quicker.
7. Thats fantastic Root! Inspirational for sure.

I take (belly) dance classes twice a week... its so fun! I walk two days a week and I noticed my gym is adding a Tango class soon... I think I will try that too....I DON'T WANT TO STOP! When you find what you love, you will be on it too.

Disapointed and venting...

We had birthday cake two days in a row at work.. I indulged, about two tablespoons each day... this added around a hundred calories extra to my day.... I did gain a pound... but know I just need to get back on track. Really the worst part is how much those carbs call me name after I eat them! I love my sleeve because it is really helping with damage control when those unhealthy treats are out there. I thinking gaining so many pounds is all about the carbs and salt, it will come off as quick as it went on if you get on it right now, lots of water and eat really clean a few days. Thats what I'm up to too today.

Worried!

Avocado, olive oil, nuts, whole grains made with nuts and olive oil....mayo.....do you track what you eat on fitday.com or something like that? Do you know how much you are eating? I know this really helps me to lose weight, I would think this would help to gain weight or stay the same too...

Changed Goal

I have picked my goal out of the blue! I am ready to change it if it turns out to be unrealistic. I heard a saying on youtube last night that applies... This surgery is like getting on a train. You follow the rules and stay on the train until it stops, then you get off. You don't really know where the train will stop, but it will sometime. It is only THEN that you have arrived. As long as your health is good, and you do look fantastic by the way, then whats in a number?

Any Vegetarian Sleevers out there?

Im a lacto/ovo vegetarian, and get by fine. Lots of Beans, low fat cheese and dairy, meat substitutes... what do you eat now for protein? There are several other posts on this board that go into detail. I would google vegetarian protein sources, and see whats out there.

Water Intake

Protein drinks with water count, I would count anything made with water unless it has caffeine, and so watch the sodium and carbs. Of course steer clear of carbonation too. That being said, theres nothing like plane old clear tap water. I try to get in some of that in the mix. My nut recommends 48-64 oz a day... I get at least that amount- more when exercising.

is your pouch to big???

Just a tiny heads up, the term "pouch" usually refers to the shape of the stomach formed by RNY surgery, "Sleeve" is used for the shape of the stomach formed by VSG. Good luck with working with your sleeve! Im thinking a new aproach to eating might just work for you!

Am I Crazy???

I was around 36 and so glad I did it.

is your pouch to big???

My Doc told me that sleeve size is only a small part of losing weight. I got a loose 36f with oversewing and he said that IS on the small side. I would look into all the other suggestions that Tiff gave before trying for a tighter sleeve.
19. I think this is true too... as long as you are in some reasonable guidelines, your weight will go down eventually.
20. I work with adults with disabilities. I had to stay home for 6 weeks, and to tell you the truth, that made me a little stir crazy. It feels great to be back at work and have a schedule again... hope it feels better for you too. I think being alone all the time gives our brains too much time to think..., its good to be doing for others and eating on a regular schedule and such... hope you feel better soon!
21. Holy cow Thin! 4-6 oz alcohol per drink! Thats stiff girl I have had drinks that stiff before, but would be a little afraid to do it now....

should I go on a diet

Here is my loss so far... I am off my 4 week stall and losing over 1/2 lb a day for the last week. I brought up my calories to 800, and started at the gym.
23. Are you taking a PPI? It would slow down or stop that heartburn, and perhaps the tightness in the chest too... if you are, perhaps you need to change up.... Do get your water in, it makes a different in how fast you lose weight too!
24. Sounds like you don't really want to hear it....you take care, we want everyone here to succeed!
