Do you lose the weight uniformly ?
feedyoureye replied to kemo46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hahaha! The fat just melts away, and all you have left is a skin suit that used to fit over the fat ass hanging there....sad butt. However I have hope for filling it up with some fine muscle. When I flex my gluts I have a nice butt, true... however I have yet to be able to hold them flexed forever... so they remain flat most of the time. :^( I expect the butt suit to shrink at least a bit in the future as well. -
I decided to torture myself and weight every day. Actually, I decided to weigh every day so I could train myself out of getting so upset or happy about the number. After about 11 weeks I decided to use the fitday graph to see what the pattern of my loss/gain looked like... and I see many up days and many plateaus, however, I continue to lose over the long run. Like others have mentioned, the loss looks like stair steps, or saw blade in the case of mine...the reasons for this rhythms of ups and downs I can not yet discern. Roller coaster indeed! Keep sharp all! Enjoy the ride!

Day 24: Dying to be thin?
feedyoureye replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Haha! I just ran into my Ex... he left me for another woman 25 years ago, and I hadn't seen him in all those years... I was so in love with him, and it took me a couple of years of self therapy and hard work to grow out of that mess... anyway, I was stunned to see him. My little mind was dog paddling between "its him!" and "it can't be him, its someone else that I used to know a long time ago...", then I finally realized that it was him. ...and he was checking me out...I was just coming out of my Tango lesson, and was actually dressed up kind of cute, and after I went home, all I could think of was "I am SO freaking glad that I have lost 50 pounds!" Its a girl thang. -

The pain in my thumbs and hands, mostly from arthritis, are much better now. I do give some credit to my Vit D3 and b12.... as well as the weight loss. -

You may or may not lose more by following the rules at any one time, it seems many stall being perfect, but I would follow the rules if I were you... they are there for a reason. The weight will come off in your bodies own sweet time if you follow the rules. If you are dehydrated, your body will actually hold on to water weight. I have some probs getting in all my water without a fight... I have started drinking 3 cups in the AM before anything else, while I take a bath... and this gets me off to a good start. I would wait to overly test the rules until after you have lost most of your weight... its a great time to re train your self into some habits that work better for you in the future. by the way... I have had MANY mini stalls and one long one. After looking back at my weight loss graph, I saw I had actually lost two pounds in 4 weeks, not really a stall... but a S---l----o----w patch for sure... that started at week 2.

... it could have been the milk as well as the sugar. To the point...Why is it again that you want to be able to eat all the crap that you did before surgery? This is a great opportunity to use the sick feeling to gain some avoidance of such behavior. I can eat sugar, and I even do every so often, about a teaspoon, and along with protein so I don't get a blood sugar spike right after. Indulging in those Mcdonalds type habits on a regular basis is part of how I got fatter and fatter in the first place.

I figured old age is not for sissies, and I needed to get down to fighting weight so I could make the best of my later years... I want to keep the adventures up! This in itself has been an adventure! -
What do you plan to eat Easter Sunday?
feedyoureye replied to sychadelic's topic in Food and Nutrition
Going out to dinner at a place with a salad bar, so will find something there. I will drink a protein drink in the am, to make sure I get in enough protein. I'm hoping there will be some cottage cheese or garbanzo beans. Being a vegetarian with a sleeve, eating out is not that great a place to get protein... I'm there for the company. -
I think the mustard (and maybe vinegar too) was irritating the staple line. I had this with chilies around the same time.... at 13 weeks, no problem with a little hot chili.

Hungry, or not...after surgery
feedyoureye replied to SpiceyMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first few days I didn't like the taste of anything. slowly that changed. I did have hunger, not just head hunger, but the gnawing stomach feeling ( I did and do take omeprozole). Just in the past week, I have noticed that my hunger is quite a bit less. I like to eat, and enjoy cooking something tasty, but the restriction is good, and when I'm done Im done. I can at times easily chose to not eat... or at times I don't get to it before I start getting a little lightheaded. I am now at 13 weeks. -

Suddenly SOOOO hungry!
feedyoureye replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You still have hunger hormones in your system, it take a while for them to "run out". Hunger can be a sign of thirst or acid also. I am at 13 weeks, and my hunger is just starting to go away. I think most folks it goes earlier, but not all....aunt Flo may be asking for a snack for sure.... -

You can see the "multi quote" button at the bottom right edge of the posting windows? You can go down the line and press the buttons of the posts you want to answer in one single post... then, in that window that opens with the quoted posts, type your answer AFTER the [/ quote ] at the end of the quote you want to answer. This way the quote(s) you want to reply to, and your reply (replies) will be contained in the same window. Hope that helps. -
Calling Sacramento/East Bay people?
feedyoureye replied to Bandme1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a heads up, what you like before may not what you like after! Buy samples and try them after is my advice.... I had a stack of diferent flavors, I would try one each day, and rate the packages... later I went out and bought whats I liked. -
I would think if you replace a meal once in a while, that would be fine, if you just trying to get your protein in, then it is prob a little high in calories and carbs.... bang for your buck....I have both, but find that I use the ones with lower carbs and calories, because I want to eat real food more...
