1 month quick weight update
feedyoureye replied to crosswind's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
35 is fantastic! Good on ya! Have you measured? When the stalls come, you can see the measurements going down when the scales don't....if one number is not complying to your wishes, the other just might. -
4 Months Out and Having Major Snacking Issues!
feedyoureye replied to Kris's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love sour pickles too, and Mt. Olive makes sugar free sweet pickles. Just watch the salt, it can make you retain Water.... :^( -
Sometimes I just like using a large size bowl or plate, but sometimes I just like that tiny little bowl of food. I have silver pickle forks and demitasse spoons I use sometimes as well.... I find the little baking dishes are useful... I steam or bake eggs and spinach or lasagnas, foil them and put in the refer for later in the week.

LONG STALL??? or worst fear true??
feedyoureye replied to Hip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are not doing so, join a site like Fitday.com. Write down what you put in your mouth. 1200 at week three is pretty high. You might watch salt intake too... drink all of your water... you could be retaining water. Like others have said, the big 3 week stall is common (Mine was at 2 weeks and lasted 4 weeks) I was eating 350-600 cals a day when that happened! Stalls happen. The sleeve works if you follow the sleeve rules... protein first, drink your water, exercise (but please don not overdue for the first 6 weeks) walk until you can do more. Exercise patients too! I don't think that many insurance companies would pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars on sleeve surgery if your worst fear was true! CHILL Hip! -
I've been sleeved!!!

Greek Yogurt and Cottage Cheese???
feedyoureye replied to ashleyc's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
This is the only way to see...for yourself. Don't get turned off by your first spoonful. Try adding different flavors, heating and such. I love them both mixed with savory or sweet additions, the cottage cheese with spaghetti sauce and parmesan, heated is nice....or with fruit salad... the yogurt mixed with french onion Soup mix as a veggie dip or to top cooked veggies or meat.... a spoonful in an omelet, I like cottage cheese blended until smooth, wtih a little granola or fruit, you can add chopped cucumbers (seeded) into the yogurt with some mint for an indian salad... Both are such good sources of Protein and Calcium, give them a good try before giving up! -
So I found peanut flour posted somewhere... perhaps eggface, and looked around for it on the net. I found a product that looked good, with nothing in it but ground partially defatted roasted peanuts, and bought some to experiment with. 1/4 cup 110 calories 4gms fat 4gms Fiber 8gms carbs 16 gms protein!!! I opened the bag, stuck my finger in, and tasted the powder. Peanutty yumness!,. Next I mixed it about 50/50 with Water and a little salt and stevia ( I started with a little less than 50% water and worked my way up to a nice creamy thick consistency) I smeared it on a cracker and.... YUMMY again I think in an asian dressing, with stevia, garlic, soy sauce and vinegar would be nice... in a smoothy with yogurt and banana as an asian dipping sauce.... I will post my experiments as I try them.... you do too if any of you try it! As a Vegetarian, I am always looking for alternate forms of Protein. I bought it on netritiion.com protein plus flour http://www6.netrition.com/protein_plus_peanut_flour.html
-
Different companies remove different amounts of oil, and roast differently too... I used the peanut flour from netrition.com http://www4.netritio...anut_flour.html I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I was jonesing for some veggies, and just made myself some home made Soup, throwing in about 5 kinds of veggies in a chik'n veg stock... no Protein... so I added 1/8th cup of peanut flour to the finished hot bowl.... so yum! and 8gms of pro.

Walking in under your own steam is so much cooler than having to go by ambulance for something horrible caused by weight related illness! Get it done and get on with your great life! I actually had a great hospital experience... everyone was so nice and professional. -
No weight loss!!!!
feedyoureye replied to trinhle905's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Consider yourself normal. The infamous stall has struck again. Just do what your doc said, and the sleeve works.... just on its own time schedule. -
My doc said split pea or bean soup was fine for liquids, just puree and thin out as much as you need to. If you have a crock pot, its as easy to make as can be.

4 Months Out and Having Major Snacking Issues!
feedyoureye replied to Kris's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I eat loads of snacks, I just keep track and try to keep them mostly low carb. My doc recommended three meals and two snacks. Eating more often works pretty well for me. -
Great advice! And Congratulations!

Turning on people with peanut alergies is not good! I do not have a problem... and love peanuts, lucky they love me too. Some grow out of peanut allergies at some time in life also...

Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookie dough recipe I constructed an EASY recipe that is soooo yum. Mix 1/8th cup of Peanut Flour, and a little less than 1/8th cup of torrani sf caramel syrup.... (start with a tablespoon less than a 1/8th cup of teh syrup and add in if needed) and a shake of salt. Mix till thick paste forms. optional: add 1t-spoon mini chocolate chips, mix well, form into little balls. They taste like peanut butter cookie dough! 8 gms protein....55 cals and 2 gms carbs +whatever the choco chips add if you use them.

Coops, your such a lovely lady, i hate to hear you are down right now! Stalls suck! I have been watching your ticker for months now... actually from about Sept of 2010... and I have seen that number go down... slow but in the right direction. What I hope is that you really ENJOYED that chocolate and that toast... those are just a wonderful part of life, and you deserve to enjoy your life. I suggest you just write down what your eating, in fitday or something like that... even if you feel your in an 'off' time for following the plan. This will help you remain conscience of whats passing your lips. I too have had some chocolate eggs (yes I said the plural) and a half a cookie the other day. I am on a mini stall, but I believe that will end sooner or later. I am keeping my calories in the zone, even if the carbs are a little elevated. Perhaps its time for a little spa day? Facials and toenails? Don't forget to be good to yourself girl. Perhaps some inspired reading or movie watching? Time will pass wether you are working on your goals or not, might as well dig in and do something non weight related every day to move those goals along. Your wonderful! Don't forget it girl.
-
I hate to even mention it, and I don't think it has anything to do with your stall, but My Doc said keep the calories under 400 until around 6 weeks, then go up to 6-800 a day for many months following. You might want to check the carbs and perhaps salt if your are eating salty stuff... this can help retain water....

Thinking of Cancelling
feedyoureye replied to b190c550's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love my sleeve, and I still enjoy food. You do have to do some things differently, but you still eat, and you look and feel a heck of a lot better doing it! -
Not going to be a habbit but when can I have some Pizza?
feedyoureye replied to Biiggmike23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't suposed to have tomato sauce until week 6 or later... now I make my own pizzas, using a split whole wheat pita bread, sauce, and a couple kinds of cheese... usually low fat is one of them. I may add some olives or veggie sausage....I had to skip the chili flakes, but now can have a little of them too. (14 weeks) Early on I ate recotta cheese topped with a tiny dab of tomato sauce and cheese as a Pizza flavored treat....heated in the microwave. -
55 lbs down.. halfway or so to goal PICS!

Day 29: Seriously, though.
feedyoureye replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well whoever thought up the "Seven Deadly Sins" needs a spanking. Gluttony has really given centuries of people a "good and moral" reason to act like assholes to others who are fat. I personally think that being fat has made me more compassionate and caring...I don't judge others by how they look quite as much.... except perhaps myself at times... Who is that girl in the photograph? For the first time in a long time, I look in the mirror, and recognize myself. The weight that has lifted off my shoulders gives me the physical and mental strength to face my sadness and fear again, with more maturity and compassion for myself and others. I think there is a huge story here, on this forum. A story that is stronger and ultimately more elegant and true than the stereotype of the fat lady at Wallmart who can't keep her pants on because she is stupid, ugly and FAT. The stories on this forum are honest, funny, intelligent , personal and refreshing. They are the stories of the heroic... who have lived to return home with treasure. Your company allows me to tell the truth, without feeling guilty or afraid of ridicule. Thanks CW and thank you all. -
constipation post surgery
feedyoureye replied to bugirl928's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said dont let it go to long, the pushing is not good for the new tummy... take your benifiber every day...and whatever else you need to do the keep things going. Also calcium and vid D will slow things down... make sure you are taking magnesium to help with that part. I have problems too, trying to keep on top of it. I also use phylium seed fiber... some do not like the bulk, but I find it works better than the benifiber type. -
44C or D>>>>>>>>>>>50 pounds off>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>40C. I have to lean over and give the gals a good lift to fill it up. Im sure I will be back to a B like the good old days in no time. Oh, and the butt is GONE too. No bra is going to help that! byby!

OFFICIAL TWO WEEKS STALL!!!!!!! WTH!!!!!!!!
feedyoureye replied to Hip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto.... I stalled and gained and lost and stalled for 4 weeks starting at week 2. It just doesn't seem possible to do that eating so little, but that was just the truth and too bad. It started coming off again at week 6. If I average my weight loss, it is about 2 pounds a week.... even with the stall.
