    Coconut

Look for the post... I think it was in the complications thread.... I love coconut too, I use extract, coconut powder , milk or di Vincies to get the flavor. Some love coconut water too....I think it tastes like foot....

Holy Crap It's Six Weeks Later

Time is a'flyin! It seems like you started posting here about a week ago! (It appears that along with my stomach, I also lost my temporal sense) 40 lbs is great and I'm sure you will be in those pants in no time. It seems like all my karma is catching up with me too without my drugs of choice to slow their impact down...I am happy about it, even if it sucks sometimes, I figure I am making the big upgrade here. Less stomach, more smarts. Getting some Zen on here. In a floppy sort of uncoordinated way. Hopefully the goal pants and grace will follow shortly.

I fit my goal pants already...

Bootielicious! Wear those to our May support meeting... I gotta see!
  5. I think my numbers are a lot lower than that... When I used to count calories... at about 16-1800 a day, I would lose.....V-E-R-Y- slowly, that was exercising 4 days a week!

    Diet

Im sorry to hear about your stall, sometimes a fresh start is in order. Dont feel resentful about it... getting the rest of that weight off will feel like pure gold! Take stock, use fitday or something like that to keep track... I swore I would never count calories again a long time ago, but now I see I really have to keep track so I remain conscious of what Im doing. I want this to be the last time I have to "diet".

    Diet

There are good reasons why the Docs want you to eat protein and drink your Water. You will be losing weight on higher carbs and lower protein...at least at first, but your body will be eating /burning your muscle instead of your fat. This is NOT good. You can get sick and have bone loss if you dont take your vitamins/calcium as well. Now is the time to set up some new rules for yourself and your health. The sleeve will only assist you... not take care of the whole thing... you need to do that.
  8. The benifiber did not work well for me, the good old thick psylium seek husk type works best for me.

    Ghrelin and memory / learning?

Have you checked out this post? The Brain in the gut I think cutting out our stomachs might be like getting a small lobotomy!
  10. I have a secret yen to be a 13 again...Congrats! That is so cool! Me and my sleeve are right behind ya!

    I broke through my plateau

Jovi! that is fantastic! 101 is amazing. Good luck on your next goal. I am 4 pounds from onderland, and hope I get there quick! Its been 19 years......
  12. 6-800cals, at 16 weeks out.... I eat 65+ protein, and try to eat less carbs than protein. I don't count most low carb veggies, chewable vitamins, fiber powder into the mix. I can eat almost anything at this point. I exercise 5 days a week, and am pretty tall (5' 81/2") I lose on an average 2.5 lbs a week... so far, I'm sure that will change. I eat about 5 times a day...sometimes 4 sometimes 6...My nut said eat 6-800 throughout the whole middle of the losing phase, if I exercise a ton, I can go to 900....most of the time I don't, only once or twice when I was extra hungry. Im sure the extra carbs at times slow down my loss...some weeks I gain, but mostly its heading in the right direction and I enjoy what Im eating and how much. I just ate a large piece of toasted sourdough with almond butter... now that was a treat. Earlier today I had next to no carbs, so it all balances out.
  13. Girlfriend! You look fantastic! Look at that arm....lovely! You have developed some great tone too.

    Trying to decide

Congratulations! I know it will ask for a big change in some habits, the the sleeve really does help to support those changes. Im loving my giant iced decaf tea as well! (with stevia)

    Where are the 50s ???

42 lbs in 16 weeks... over half off!
  16. Welcome! This is the best thing you have ever done for yourself... and this forum is awesome.. Your not alone.
  17. I get more and more guys "checking me out". Now I think this is cool, I enjoy the attention after years of no attention, but in the back of my mind there is a little voice that says "I am the same person inside as when I weighed more....how superficial of you!" Then I go ahead and enjoy the attention!

    So exposed?

Not yet, but then again even when I was thinner, I always had a good amount of fat padding in the "girl department".

    Soy, peanut butter ... 4 days post-op?

Check for sugar and fat in the soy milk... or perhaps the fat in the BP was a little rich this early out... I use peanut flour mostly now... much lower in fat and higher in protein... yum.
  20. I was taking psyllium seed husk style fiber when my Doc said take benefiber, its easier on your stomach. Well after about 2 weeks of slow going, I figured out that the benefiber does not work as well as the psyllium husk style for me... I started back on the old stuff and things are moving along again a little better.
  21. Best of luck on your upcoming surgery! How exciting!
  22. Theres always Mexico..... start saving if you can't go to another Dr. You probably would not have to start over, just transfer the testing to the new Doc.
