    Just totally taken aback!!

Some people noticed earlier on... I didn't go back to work for 6 weeks, so they saw a drop all at once... but yeah, around 45 pounds, I am getting more comments...
  4. Congrats on finishing your 6 months! And good luck on getting your date soon. This site will supple lots of support to you when you get your sleeve.

    Any Suggestions Would Be Appreciated

As long as there is no swelling, redness or rash, itching means healing. I itched too, but it went away pretty quickly and all was better.

    Stall all ready

Hang in there, it is not uncommon to stall early out. Look up three week stall. I stalled at two weeks for three weeks. Use the logical part of your brain... you can not stay the same forever at 500 calories a day. You are still under the influence of the IV, the drugs, getting your stomach cut out and your body is pissed and/or confused about what you have just done to it! In a while, whenever she is ready, she will let some weight go. Drink your water, follow rules and chill out. Its going to be a successful ride, if you follow the rules, but weather you enjoy it or not, depends on you! Its not going to be just how you want or imagine it to be!

    glorious overweight!

Slow but steady wins the race my dear! Your right behind me.... I started out with a semi low BMI (around 37.something), but it has been many years since I have been here. I love being on the overweight bench! hahaha, Im sure I will love getting off of it too...The last time I was "normal" there was no BMI formula that I had ever heard about (20years ago??)... and I thought I was fat. My weight was on the way up, not down...I hope I appreciate it more this time.

    My struggles/My questions

So sorry you are going through all this... what a bummer!(hippy talk) Im sure you will get though all of this and feel much better on the other side.

You have got to be kidding me!!!

I blame it on the "humidity". New fangled machines!
  10. It really is amazing isn't it!? Living and Eating feels more "normal" now, but not like any normal I have ever known before! Yesterday I had blueberry pancakes, protein drink, pasta salad, snacks with a movie (popcorn, chocolate covered raisins, cheese cracker things) and fake chicken Florentine. I ate 200 cals more than usual (985 cals...because I wanted to) and lost a pound. So lets recap here....regular food, extra snacks, 5 small meals....weightloss? 985 cals is 200 cals over what I usually eat?!! Normal?! I think they DID operate on my brain. Or I am starting to believe in miracles sister..... Welcome to the club... the waters fine.

    Pale

You just had your stomach removed! That could make anyone pale! Take care of yourself. Get enough rest and keep up the recommendations of your Doc and Nut. You will be fine. Also, just a heads up, if you are in Menopause, you can get pregnant after this surgery! The body releases a bunch of hormones that have been stored in the fat. No Kidding! I was all over, no more hot flashes or anything... and I am flashing all over again. :^( . Double up on your birth control gals.... Some of our meds will need to be changed over time, so talking to your Doc about the BP meds is a good idea.

Has someone commented on your weight loss?

A student calls me skinny mini (but she used to call me that before I ever lost the weight!) I do get "your melting before my eyes" and "WOW! you look fantastic...." An old friend I ran into a couple of days ago noticed I have lost weight and said I look really "healthy" I'm meeting with her to discuss WLS this weekend, she is in for getting it for herself already!

    Feeling Lost

Keep reading posts here... you will find post after post stating liquids do not give you restriction like solids. This makes sense yes? the liquids go on through... after your sleeve swelling goes down, it goes down even quicker. When you get to solids, the restriction will hit you in the face...hard. Also, do not compare yourself and your results to any one else... especially someone who is losing a TON of weight quickly or someone who is at the extreme of anything. Your body will do its own thing, just follow Drs orders, drink your water, walk/exercise and get in your protein. Do not worry how long it takes, just do it. Your body will change as time goes and you will have different problems later than you have now. Live in the truth, not in your expectations! There is also a 3 week stall that many people get, do not FREAK about this if it shows up... just search for it here... you will find a ton of company there too....relax.

    Hair Loss

<<<<<<< Three months. I have very long thick hair. Some days it comes out in handfuls. I will get a different cut if I have to. It will grow back. I use Henna, and that makes it extra thick feeling. Im sure it will look dorky and not sleek when I starts to grow back in, but I will be a normal weight, and you can do amazing things with a good haircut and color. Don't freak, this is a pic of my hair loss two days ago.... It was a hair wash day and I decided to collect the hair from the pre brush, wash and blow dry/brush. I do not lose this much every day... this was the most I ever lost from this surgery in one day.... I only wash every 4-5 days and it really comes out then the most. Keep in mind I have hair past my boobs so this bunch is made up of long hairs.....at least its shiny!

    I threw away my scale

My surgeon warned me not to let the scale determine my success or failure. that being said, they weigh me and calculate my percentile every time I go in.... I do weight every morning... but do not let the number get me down. I log my weekly loss on my calendar, and that helps me to see a bigger picture. I also use other measures... measuring with a tape every two weeks or so... how my cloths feel, how my health feels, how my labs turn out....how much more exercise I can do without getting tired, and how many guys check me out per week!(just kidding) I did this mainly for my health, but the "looks" part has been really nice and confidence building.

    Just a little sugar...

I have had stevia that is good and stevia that is bitter.. I think they are doing a better job with the refining thing these days, Trader Joes has packets that are pretty good. I got an ice cream maker to try Eggfaces protein ice cream recipe... will try the soon and report back. Chikes banana might make some great ice cream!
