Turkey Neck with early weight loss

I've got a turkey thing going on right now.... I really don't know how it will turn out.. Im 57 and still have 30+ lbs to go... I am just waiting it out, supposedly it takes a year after losing the weight to see how things settle skin wise... so thats what I'm waiting for... in the mean time AHOY turtlenecks and scarfs! :^)... and lots of creams and such to keep things flexible and moist.
  4. Its the famous Three Week Stall! Join the club, it happens to almost everyone. Look it up...Its frustrating, but its NORMAL. Chill.
  5. Thanks for posting your experience! Glad your home and feeling better!
  6. Best of luck to you! You will be past those liquids and mushies faster than you think. The sleeve has been a miracle for me.

Sounds great! My gym even has dance lessons, you might suggest something if you don't see it on the list of classes?

    Clients making passes....at me?

I have noticed way more guys "checking me out" the last couple of weeks. One guy held the door for me from when I was walking from my car to a coffee shop from way out in the parking lot, and guys are saying HI to me on the street. Cute guys. NOT NORMAL for me. I like it, but mostly its been nice and not pushy. I don't mind a little harmless flirting, but NO means NO. I think we will probably get used to it....just know your boundaries and have a plan for when it goes over your personal limit.

    Our new Forum!!

Here are two variations on the recipe. Gingerbread with greek yogurt frosting and chocolate / Peanut Butter cake with FF cream cheese filling and SF "hot fudge" topping I have also made a strawberry cake using nectar strawberry/kiwi Protein Powder. This recipe is a work in progress, but is getting pretty good! Actually, it is nutritious enough to eat as a meal. I eat the gingerbread one for Breakfast at work. They are REALY high in Fiber, and pretty much singlehandedly fix THAT problem if you have it.... :^)

    Our new Forum!!

It was fun meeting you all! Looking forward to the next meeting and getting a couple more ladies out with us. Here is that info I offered at the meeting: Bobs red mill baking mix (great for pancakes and the cake recipe Im working on...) http://www6.netritio...e_mix_page.html Here is that peanut flour also....high Protein and low carbs/fat/calories http://www6.netritio...anut_flour.html I have not tryed this one, but hope to soon, for pizza crust.... http://www6.netritio...d_mix_page.html chocolate cake recipe(rough working recipe) 1/2 cup Bobs baking mix 200cal 30fat 12 carbs 28 pro 3/4 t baking powder two scoops (one serving) soy protein isolate (or other flavored whey protein) 110 cal fat 15cal pro 23gms salt cocoa powder (about 1 heaping Tablespoon) mix well 1T oil 120cal 16 gms fat add oil and mix again one egg 77cal pro 6.3 fat 2 1/3 cup milk 33cal 1fAT 3PRO 1/4cup white chocolate torranies SF vanilla mix wet then add to dry and mix again until no dry lumps…no more. pour into 3 pammed bowls. cover with foil and steam for 25 minutes- steaming keeps the cake moist. Microwave leaves it like a dry sponge! I have not tried baking in the oven yet... frosting 1/4c peanut flour 110 cal 35 fat 4carb 16 pro salt 1/4 cup torranies white chocolate (or 1/8th cup torranies and 1/8 cup milk) 1/8 cup cocoa powder 1 teaspoon soft margarine or butter 35 cal mix well remove cakes form bowls when cool and cut into layers and frost with frosting and cool whip if you like. Makes three large "cakes" I often cut in half and that is PLENTY for a serving. 685 cals total- 228 cals each 98 fat cal 32.6 each 16 gms carbs 5.3carbs each 76 pro gms 25.3 each I will post pics in a few minutes....

    Stalled for almost a week

Stalls are normal. Do watch that salt and the water/protein intake... it will catch up with you, but I think that perhaps losing so fast is what is not normal... so enjoy and take care!
  14. This sounds to me like they are questioning the sleeve, not the surgery. Those are a list of problems that are best matched with the sleeve instead of bypass... My sleeve was approved partly because I need to take aspirin every day per my Cardiologist... They may think that bypass will give you better results than the sleeve and are trying to find out if there are specific reasons to approve the sleeve.

    I feel fat today

Feeling fat is not the sole domain of the fat! I remember hearing skinny mini's complaining about feeling fat and thinking "Oh Shut up girl!" But I was one of those people when I was thinner, I thought i was fat all the time. I hope to do it differently this time... at least some of the time!

    bikini/two piece

I just got one of those racing style speedos with the cross over back... It has been 40 years from the time I last wore a bikini... but you never know....I like sarongs too...funny thing is, I would rather go "suit optional" than wear a bikini...my funny brain!

Is 40g of protein a day enough?

Programs are all so different! My Doc/Nut say drink those protein drinks a long as you like. We are supposed to have one every day during the losing phase... getting protein from other high quality sources is good too... but if you can't Drink it!
