After three fast days without any loss, I changed my aproach a bit, lower carbs on fast day (around 60- being a vegetarian makes it a little harder to keep it low), more raw and nothing before dinner... and lost a pound.... VERY happy to see this. lowering the carbs really helped the Water weight to come off. Still there, and fasting tomorrow... so hope this is a sign the stall is over and I'm heading south again! Good job ladies! Stick with it!

Slow weight loss - feeling very low
feedyoureye replied to slimgal2015's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Many of us have slow spots or stalls. The one at 2-3 weeks has a name! "the three week stall" look it up. You may have slow weeks or weeks where you lose nothing, and are doing everything right. I lost pretty slow... I didnt get to goal for 3 years! But the speed of loss is not the prize, the end results are. Just keep with it and try not to stress. You are only at the very beginning of the journey... it lasts a lifetime! -
I see from your counter you have done really great! Welcome to the Veterans board!

Frozen strawberries? anis seeds (later on...)? pumpkin/winter squash? spice tea? -
Any one got a Plateau around week 3,4?
feedyoureye replied to Luka Wood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started at 2 1/2 weeks and lasted for 3 weeks. It wasnt the last. You are not doing anything wrong... just keep up the good work. -
Gerogia, hopefully someone will be taking pics... I had to dig out three "before" images... I had my husband do it, as he is the picture taker on our trips and such. Boy or boy! I was one fat girl! I can hardly believe it was me, and I could hardely believe it was me then! It didn't ever really feel like the real me. I feel much more like the real me now. Here are the "before" pics I sent in for the show.

Hang in there girl, I gained 22 at one point... I did get it of, and a year later I have gained 10... I am getting that off too. Life happens, just dont let it go to long, or its very depressing, and harder to lose as well. saying it out loud is healing and we are here for you.

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
feedyoureye replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no way you are gaining any real weight the way your eating.. it has to be swelling and Water. I gained 10 pounds after surgery. It came off and more. Get ready for stalls and such... just do what you need to do, and it will move in the right direction. -
I find it helps if I plan ahead... write down what your are going to eat when... I just pre post in myfitnesspal.... then keep telling myself " I can eat that tomorrow if I still want to" about treats... Re-watch the fast diet documentary... it is really inspiring... and you all know that this plan is for longevity? not weight loss! Weight loss is just the side effect. The Fast diet page recommends Protein and tons of low carb veggies. TONS. https://www.fastday.com/ here are some ideas https://www.fastday.com/food/plan-your-eating/

Wow!!! this forum has taken off from the last time I was here! So much energy... this is how we get it done ladies! Have been very good about fasting, have started cooking at home more, and taking charge of my meals, writing everything down and working to get my exercise up to the same level it was before.... In the last two weeks I have lost 3 pounds, but not any over the last 3 fasts STALL!!!! I'm still in for the long run though. Feel better taking charge. Just hope for another drop soon.... I was up to 183.4.... now at 180.4.... looking for 171.4..... I am in a "Bariatric" fashion show at the end of Jan. Getting fitted for cloths in 3 days.... sorry I couldn't get into the "70's" for that... bought new spanks to help with the middle buldge. It is incentive to stay on track for sure! I have always been the "moderation" dieter here... a carb eater... just less than before... but I need to get back to a lower level. Being a vegatarian, the Protein first rule is a little harder to meet.... cottage cheese, yogurt, tofu dont quite stick to your ribs like a chunk of meat... but I have done it before, I can do it again! Happy to have such good company here! Hurray 5:2! two years ago I lost 22 pounds of regain and got to goal. much of it from following the 5:2. Its a good plan.

I have the opportunity to be on local TV, but plan to decline that...I am a bit well known in some circles here, and don't really need this kind of publicity added to my "product". Looking good with no explinations is good enough! Great job everyone! We can do this! ... here is a chart of my weight over the last 6 months... what a trend! I don't see why not! My dad was really helped by Gabapentin... the only thing that worked for him. He is watching his weight and doing ok on that font. Did not notice any more sleepyness.... Yum! Love your new pic! Cutest! -
There are lots of things you can shoot for. At year 4, I find I have to look at the scale every day, and write everythind down to see the same number day after day. Now the goal is to see the same number.... believe me, its just as much work as losing!

The first day is the hardest, then you will be just fine!

Fasted today, came in under 500. Made the pizza too... was a little soft in the middle, but I think I can modify and get it closer next time. The flavor was great! I swear thinking about making/eating that pizza got me through the day! -
Over 12 Months Post-Op - Progress Made but still looking for Support?
feedyoureye replied to nysleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are doing great! Do check in at the Vetrans forum for advice from those more than a year out. many of us slow down after a year, but you can lose more... just slowly. You need to figure out what you can maintain for the long haul. I stopped a little higher, because I didn't want to have to "diet hard"all the time to keep it off. I still have to watch it pretty close most days to stay around my goal. I am 5'9" and 179 right now (up from is 170-173.... getting back on top of my goal right now, gained a little after mom was sick and passed away, then the holidays ... 4 years out and things going pretty well all in all) -
Glad to join you ladies, its so much easier with support! I need to lose 7 to get to the top of my goal range, and 10 to get to my lowest. Why does it seem like a million??!! ...I know we can do it though... one day at a time. One hour at a time!

Oh girl! That sounds horrible! How embarising... Glad there is light at the end of the tunnel though... and do take your probiotics... your body will thank you in so many ways! I am fasting again tomorrow... really looking forward to it. I have been looking up some new recipes to get me in the mood.... She has some good ones.... just look up 5:2 as a search on her site.... heres one for pizza... http://www.lavenderandlovage.com/2013/07/low-calorie-cauliflower-crust-pizza-gluten-free-paleo-and-52-diet-pizza-recipe.html -

Skinny People's Poop May Hold the Disgusting Key to Weight Loss

I posted something about fecal transplants a year or so ago... and something else about the gut having nurology the size of a cat brain! Is the new term for using an EverSlimEnema "feeding the cat"? -
Some centers have NO after eating plan... just normal food chewed well. Each Dr. has a formula of some kind, strict or not.... follow what s/he lays out... and unless it looks very crazy, you should be fine. This forum is for researarch papers- how about finding a research paper that addresses your question, we would all be interested in seeing that im sure!

The flu is mostly gone... but may sneek into the lungs yet... a little cough now and then. Husbands looking sick now... hope its just sympathy! Good fast today, I feel confident I can finish it off under 550. -
OK troops! That long awaited "New Year" is upon us. Time to get back on the wagon and ride it to victory!!!! Again!!!!! (We know we can do it) I got up and wrote down all I plan to eat today, because I can't trust myself to "wing it" at this point (or hardly ever it seems). It is fast day. I balk, but know I need to start the new year right, or it could become just another of the same string of days out of control. I know I'm not alone. Good luck girls! You know what you have to do....
