How do I know if I'm full?
feedyoureye replied to HelloKitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its a challenge to figure out the signals... some nerves were cut, and the stomach needs to heal pretty well before the signals become more easy to understand. Its a learning process for sure... -
How do I know if I'm full?
feedyoureye replied to HelloKitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A half a cup may be too much. Don't just eat because you think its not enough... you stomach is trying to tell you something... pain is when you have gone too far. Your stomach will relax and make more room for food soon enough... Use your honeymoon period while you have it. -
Discouraged and disappointed

I was going to mention this too... its really true! Before you know it you will be blowing through the sizes. I didn't measure until I had my first stall, and really wish I had done it sooner... but I have seen loss in inches. You should measure... take about 6 places, and just check that every two weeks or so. You will see where you are losing it in numbers, if not in the mirror. Congrats on your weight loss so far! -
2 year post VSG and pregnancy update
feedyoureye replied to Tiffykins's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Tiff, I know you miss your cute skinny cloths, but really, when you look back at you in your "baby" cloths, you are going to think.."I look damned cute pregnant!" ....and you do! Congrats on all the great work and success. -
You can also get OTC generic omeprazole which is a PPI.

Have a Date (again)

You take care of yourself now! Getting this surgery is a little bit like getting kicked by a horse! Just because you can shake it off, doesn't mean you should. Some people get weak, nauseous, and sore.... and heaven forbid, sometimes more. Give yourself a little TLC on the trip, and plan out where there are Drs on the way home... just in case you need one. You will probably be just fine, but do take care...You wont be able to take hard core painkillers, then drive. Just being devils advocate here... -
Have a Date (again)
feedyoureye replied to former_vbg's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just a heads up, I couldn't stand anything sweet the first few weeks... Half and half on the crystal light might work better... bring a jug of water anyway just in case. I would think getting out and stretching now and then would be a great idea...even without surgery! A good pillow to support your stomach when you move around too... and to sleep on! You are not driving are you? -
What did Apple Eat Today? Updated with NEW Menu
feedyoureye replied to apple-saucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks something like my numbers.. I think i eat more veggies than you, but I don't log my low glycemic veggies. I sometimes eat those "Gripz" cheez-its 120 cal pacs... I eat around half at a serving... they are tiny and go a looong way. They are also nice on soup or salad. I know they are junk, but not toooo bad. http://www.amazon.com/Cheez-Crackers-Mighty-9-Count-Packets/dp/B000AYGWSK -
So frustrated and confused!
feedyoureye replied to StacyS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look up the Three Week Stall. Mine lated for almost 4 weeks starting at 2 1/2 weeks. Its a frustrating Bit@h! But it is common. I am in a two week stall right now, but know I will come through the other end sooner or later. This is a long race, not a short one. I started measuring during my three week stall, and enjoyed those numbers getting smaller when the scale did its little up and down dance. -
starving.... all of the time!
feedyoureye replied to april0507's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Acid can really make you feel like you are hungry. Ask your Doc, I get a prescription, but you can also get omeprazole (PPI) over the counter....several brands. -

50 pounds is fantastic, but don't get hung up on how much others lose in a month, her BMI is quite a bit different than yours... Your body will do fine, and in it own time. Congrats on getting a new Dr. and date! -
Hair Loss
feedyoureye replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I am attached to my hair. I hate to see it thin as well. It did not stop me from getting surgery. I have relied on it as my "crowning glory" when I didn't believe anything else about me was attractive. I AM vein. Vanity is a curse in the end, because naturally all things change, and vanity relies on having a certain fixed view about what something should look like. Even my vanity could not support me in losing weight and keeping it off before surgery. I will not work to keep it off after surgery. My desire to have as much health as I can while alive is my true motivation now... so I am able to live life to its fullest. We all had fears going into this surgery... large or small. Its part of being human. I see people getting Freaked out with a capitol F at gaining one pound in the middle of losing 20 or 100. That is no more rational than worrying about losing your hair. Its a signal that the changing nature of life is unsettling. Hopefully we live and learn. Did you know that Buddhist monks and nuns shave their heads to remove distraction such as vanity? -

pizza (rough working recipe) 1/2 cup Bobs baking mix 200cal 30fat 12 carbs 28 pro 3/4 t baking powder three scoops (one serving) soy Protein isolate (or other unflavored whey protein) 165 cal fat 22cal pro 35gms salt, black pepper, chopped oregano mix well 1T oil 120cal 16 gms fat add oil and mix again one egg 77cal pro 6.3 fat 2 3/8 cup milk 33cal 1fAT 3PRO mix wet then add to dry and mix again until no dry lumps…no more. oil pizza pan, and hands, press dough until flat and thin, may not cover the whole pan - Toppings: or make up your own... Tomato sauce of your choice. I use Pasta sauce in a bottle I like Kalamata olives cut in half- around 10 cut in half fresh torn basel leaves 1/4 cup low fat grated cheese(70 cal) 1/2 cup regular grated cheese (220 cal) 2T romano and/or parmesan cheese black pepper and red pepper flakes on top Spread around up to the edges of the pizza. bake in preheated 400F oven for 20 minutes (Edges will be browned and cheese melted) totals are approximate- this is for three LARGE servings, you may want to make smaller servings. Each serving makes around 6 small slices. I did not add in the calories for sauce or olives or romano. I am lazy that way! You get the idea, its pretty high protein and low carb. If you come up with more precise numbers, let me know. 936 cals total- 312 each 77 fat cal 25.6 each 13gms carbs 4.3each 86 pro gms 28.6each

I have read that the yam noodles might not be that great of an idea, they can get stuck. I do like the dreamfields, made pasta salad the other day with it. I have only tryed the elbow shape, but I also bought the anglelhair. Safeway, Raleys and BelAir carry it as well as Netrition.com

6 weeks. I just didn't want to risk the abs! i was so happy to get back to class. We do drills, a little yoga, and mostly Egyptian with a little tribal thrown in some days. I have to tell you, that all that dancing for 2 years before surgery really payed off. I couldn't see how until I lost some fat and wow! muscles underneath!

What was your turning point?
feedyoureye replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My best friend got brain cancer, and the stress triggered Atrial Fibrulation in me. I started getting more co-morbidities...after starting drugs to treat them, my 20 year high, 257, was no longer the high. My arthritis was getting in the way of my exercise practices going forward.... Enough was enough, I was falling apart. I started looking into WLS. So glad I did! -
