  1. Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to have a drain put in? I noticed that some of us didn't have one. Do we have a choice?
  2. Thanks for the input! I am thinking that maybe he wants a drain in because I am having a revision from lapband to sleeve. I have had the lapband for 6 years, and I hope there isn't a problem. I know that 6 years is a long time, and there could be lots of scar tissue. I could use your prayers that everything goes ok. Thanks, guys. Tuesday is my day!

I am going for the revision on Tuesday. I've had my band for 6 years! Pray for me that I will be able to be sleeved. I'm really nervous about this.
  4. Your story could have been mine. The band did nothing for me and the pain involved when things got stuck was awful. I will get my band removed, and be sleeved on Tuesday. I feel like a have another chance at this.
  5. Hi, I'm having my procedure done on the 19th of April. So excited, but also nervous. I hope that my age doesn't get in the way of success. I've read so many different manuals from various doctors that my head is about to explode. At this point, I just want it over with, so that I can start my new journey. I'm not looking to wear a bikini. (heaven forbid) I just want to be healthy and see my 3 grandchildren, ages 3, 20 mos., and 10 wks. grow up. Wish me luck, and I'll keep you informed.
  6. Hi Jeri, So glad to hear about you. I'm also having a revision from lapband to sleeve. People like you keep me going. Thanks, Linda
  7. Hi, Well, I will be sleeved next Tuesday, the 19th. I will be getting the band removed and the sleeve done at the same time. I had the band put in about 6 years ago. It never really worked for me. I was adjusted at least 6 or 7 times, and I finally gave up. Either it was so tight that I vomited at every meal, or so loose it did nothing. What I found, is that the band stopped the good food from going down, but allowed all the junk food in without a problem. I have actually gained 40lbs. since having the band put in. Obviously, it was not for me. I feel like I have a second chance now. I will be having the sleeve done by Dr. Domkowski, in Sebastian, Florida. I have heard great things about him. I have run the gamut of every emotion, and now I think that the wonderful people on this site have helped me be more brave. I almost didn't have it done because of my age, (63) but again, I have gotten great support from everyone, and I'm ready. Thanks again, and I'll stay in touch.
  8. I started my preop liquid diet today. I was told to drink 3 protein drinks a day. Each drink must contain at least 20gms of protein for a total of 60gms. Good luck to you. I sure know how you feel. The anticipation is always the worst.
  9. Oh boy, the time has come I will have my procedure done on the 19th of April. Of course its all I can think about, and I have a few questions. First, what should I bring to the hospital? Can you get out of bed right away? I will be sent home with a drain. What is that like? I'm sure I will think of many more questions as the days go by. I just started my liquid preop diet. So far so good. Any input would be much, much appreciated.
  10. I really needed to hear that. Thanks.
  11. Didn't notice it. Thanks so much. And thanks for all the positive comments.
