Thanks Joni! I didn't think of it as an indulgement, but I suppose in my mind I tried to rationalize it because I was actually feeling hunger for the first time in 2 weeks. You're absolutely right. I can't fall into bad habits again, otherwise, what was the point of the surgery?

I can't wait for all of you who's dates are coming up to join me on the loser's bench!! I've been waking up lately full of something, I didn't know what it was. Then it hit me. I'm happy. For the first time in a long time my happiness is radiating from the inside out instead of me trying to force it from the outside in. This is such a great feeling! I hope each one of you feels the same way

Hey brandymarie81, it's like you're reading my mind. I had frequrent Y.I's before the sleeve and once my period hit the day after its been really bad. I don't know if its the hormone fluctuation thats doing it but I'm now on meds for it and I'm going into the doc Thursday for follow up. I know my symptoms and diagnosed myself but I want confirmation. Have you been to the doc yet? BTW this may be TMI but I'm STILL bleeding! WTH. I hope this period craziness doesn't last for a long time.

Great news! I have some NSV's to share 1. my replacement wedding band no longer fits, but I'm still holding out for the big one, so this will have to do for now 2. My BMI dropped from 42 to 39.5. I'm still Morbidly obese, but hey, at least its coming down! 3. My fasting blood sugar usually runs 100-110. It's been 89! 4. I kinda sorta in a way can see my waist now! Thats always exciting! 5. I have so much more energy!! It's 3 AM and I'm up and ready for the day. Insomnia you say? Maybe, but at least I'm energetic!! I've discovered a strength this week that I didn't know I had. I'm learning patience, perserverance, but most of all I'm learning to step outside of myself. I read Holly's blog (300 pounds gone, check it out, I love her writing) a couple of weeks ago, and she challenged her readers to help themselves by helping others. I may have paraphrased that all wrong, but that is the message I got out of it. Each of us is so caught up in the scale, the NSV's, our pain and suffering, that our focus is internal. I'm working on remembering to pull myself out of my own head and reach out to others. It's been fulfilling to give encouragement without expecting any in return This surgery is not only good for the physical aspect of ourselves, but also the mental and spiritual. Then again, it is what you make it. Have a great week everyone!!

I'm not as far out as you are, but I'm glad you had your a-ha moment. You're right, our bodies have changed, but the mental changes require a lifetime of work.

Thanks for all the replies!! Is this an app or site? Great ideas and I love that saying "getting to be on the outside who we are on the inside for the first time"! I will check out InStyle as soon as I get a chance. I've kept myself from really shopping or even looking at potential clothes because it used to depress me. I hated trying on things in the store and Would leave in a really bad mood, so I boycotted shopping for a while. Now that I've been sleeved and the weight is coming off, i'm actually looking forward to it!! I LOVED H&M when I was smaller. I'll check out modcloth as well. Thanks! LOL, I had a decade of my life stolen from me as well!! Good reasoning!!
