    The Thrill Is Gone!!!

You will find the bad thoughts will go away the more you lose - I am almost 120 pounds down in less than a year and believe me being thin (or majorly thinner) far outweighs missing the beer and yummy foods. BEST OF LUCK TO US ALL ON OUR JOURNEYS!!!!

  6. you will find a lot of us here experienced the same things with our surgeons (trying to talk us out of the band). My mind was made up before my first surgeon appt. the ONLY surgery i was getting was the band - period. I have lost almost 120 pounds in 10 months. I am seeing the same results as if i had gotten gastric and my surgery was so much safer than gastric. I think i have quite a bit of discipline on eating though - my problem before was portion control and the band has cured that problem. Best of luck with whatever you decide!!!

  9. Excellent thread very informative!!! I have been very successful but must admit I could make this much easier on myself if I concentrated on the basics such ss slowing way down and chewing better. Great reminders in this thread!

    No Beer??

No carbonation ever and the reasoning i was told is the fizz or bubbles stretch your pouch even if not true no way i am risking that
  14. Havent been able to eat breakfast for months now. I have a protein shake n black coffee every single morning., I am used to it. I like the shakes and of course the nearly 120 pound weight loss in 9 months., 5 days a week at work I have a 60 calorie yogurt around 11 then 2 light string cheeses around 2:00 for total 100 calories.. Thrn aroun 4:00 another 60 calotie yogurt. Dinner varies. I try to eat all kinds of things but usually have to stop after 4 or 5 bites. I then eat a snack like one cheese slice an hour before bed.

    Success - Sometimes Bitter Sweet?

I find myself angry with all the men now that are stopping to chat with me, trying to buy me a drink, or otherwise flirting with me or asking if i'm married. I'm polite but inside all I can think is you NEVER would have talked to me 100+ pounds ago. The only place i have noticed no difference in treatment since the weight loss is my work - everyone is a professional and everyone has been fabulous to me both "before" and "after" the 117 pounds. I will never have that angry feeling toward anyone at work. It's just the strangers out and about who are coming out of the woodwork to talk/flirt with me. It's actually interesting and I should write an article about it - since it's PROOF that your weight can dictate, in many cases, how (especially) strangers treat you.

What To Do After You Reach Goal?!

i'm glad you asked this because i'm wondering the same thing - i am about 20-25 pounds from goal and i'm wondering how my mindset will need to change - right now it's lose, lose, lose - i imagine instead of getting on the scale every morning praying for a lower number i'll be equally begging for it to be the "same" number - which will be a very, very odd thought/feeling for me since i do not recall a time when i ever stepped on a scale not hoping for a loss since the last time i was on the scale.
  22. LOL i would wineguyd but i'm the most illiterate computer person on the planet and am surprised i was able to even post a profile pic - just learned that in the last 6 weeks or so. I am at the point now where if i run into someone i have not seen since surgery they either do a double take or do not recognize me at all (it's so funny when that happens - especially in professional settings where I initiate a hello or handshake or eye contact and the other person is being polite but it's as if they are meeting a stranger) - then when it comes to them who i am it's a 10 minute conversation about how fabulous I look I do love the attention i must admit!!!)
