I just had to say how sorry I am that you have had to endure this!! It is a travesty that the medical field is allowed to get away with such actions. I am hoping that your issue will be resolved in a quick and easy manner and that you can put this behind you and that you can continue to focus on positive things....like how well you have done!! Do not let anyone or anything take away from the success that you have achieved!!:hurray: Wishing you all the best!

Thanks everyone. Virgina S, thank you for the info that the rny is a more complicated surgery, I believe this surgeon has performed over 2,500 of rny's. I also understand about the importance of "rightly" repairing a leak. ( And it is a center of excellence also). Foxbins I like the way you think....I have changed many diapers, so I know what you mean. Thanks for putting into simple terms, sometimes I need that. Treequeen, I know I just need to take the leap of faith and the Dr. we were discussing.....I was told by the director of program that he has done 100 vsg's? I did like your #'s better Either way, everyone goes into this knowing the risk, but also the benefits. Thanks a buch, I really appreciate ALL your kindness and your patience

Hi to everyone, I know this has probably been posted many times, but I am still trying to navigate the site..so please bear with me. When you consult with a surgeon, how many vsg's should be a safe number. I know there is no magic number, but would 100 sleeves be a safe number with 0-leaks? I have been searching for so, so long if I should or should not do it and have explored many avenues...going to someone in California who has done over 1000 sleeves and is truly an excellent vsg surgeon, but I live in ohio and would like a Dr. close to home, going to Mexico was not for my husband, and after so much research and stress I guess I am just ready to do it. Oh, and I am a self pay, and I found a Dr. in Cleveland Oh who has done 100 sleeves and I liked him, (although he seems to still thinks gastric bypass is still the best tool) and I will meet with him this week for a consult. I am still guessing if I have made the right decision??!! Any opinion would be great! I am so thankful for all of you!!

Ghrelin and sleep and heat regulation
1tracy replied to Eureka-C's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Another reason I can't wait to be sleeved!! It is not a femine feeling to sweat like you have done an hour of high impact aerobics and all you have done is walked one corridor of the mall!! -
A question I have wondered also. I am meeting my surgeon on Thur. and I am looking to be sleeved the end of June-early July! I have wondered if restriction right after post op is scary? Does some people feel as if they can't breath or swallow? Has anyone panicked? I am a little or a lot scared Not too scared to pass up on life though!!

7 Weeks Out & Stretched my pouch already!!
1tracy replied to New & Improved Mel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
N&I Mel, I just want to give you kudos for listening to words of the wise and learning from it!! Sometimes it is not easy to put yourself out there and admit our short comings, but this is certainly the place to do it. Tiffykins always has great advice and I agree with what her and others about making your paticular "situation" work. You may still be able to eat more than others, but you are willing to change and take control and I applaud you for that! And no matter what, your stomach is still a whole lot smaller with your sleeve, you may just have to put a little more effort, but you will succeed!! Keep up the good work! -
I will look for your updating posts and wish her well from all of us here. Thanks for posting and educating on the possiblities that complications happen and are real. I have not been posting long, and have not yet been sleeved, but have been reading for a long time, and this group of people are wonderful and they truly care and can give a wealth of information. I hope she continues to get well and with your love and supoport, she will be just fine! I pray that this summer will be one of new beginnings and of healing. Best wishes to you both!!

Home from the hospital and so happy to be SLEEVED!
1tracy replied to graygirls's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I have an appt. with the surgeon next thursday and am hoping for a date?! I am So thankful for this forum and the people who share their journey. Could you tell me if the restrictive feeling makes you feel like you can't breathe or swallow, I am scared and want to be prepared.[ quote name=kellyw74' timestamp='1305910385' post='153064] Congrats on your new tummy!! You will be able to drink in no time!! Hours after my surgery, they brought me ice chips and I could only do a few and felt such restriction. I am now 11 days out and drink with no problems. Liquids go down very smoothly for me and feel fine in my tummy! You will do great! Best of luck to you!! Kelly -

Anyone sleeved at the Cleveland Clinic
1tracy replied to 1tracy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Thank you 1-4-Many, I appreciate your suggestion and will keep that in mind. I am finding out that the price can range from $8,750-30,000 with the many surgeons I have contacted. I am blessed in the fact that cost does not have to be the determining factor, I just want to know I am going to a skilled surgeon with the peace of mind I am in good hands, whether that is here in the states or in Mexico. Thanks again and best wishes to you.
