  6. ISS wafers are the BEST!! They taste good, relatively low carbs and sugar. Vitacost has the best price I have been able to find. I teach and keep a box of them in my desk drawer at all times. Khy

  12. I started out as a 42DD. 60 lbs later I am a 38DD. My breast are not as full and alot of what fills the cup is loose skin. I think everyone is different... My problem is when I take my dance class... even the instructor remarked... Oh how cute.... your breasts shimmy too... ARRRGGG Khy

    Soda

    Just went to the Dr. and asked some questions I have been wondering about for awhile. I think you should follow your Dr.'s orders. When I asked about soda... he said they discoruaged it in the beginning because it causes pressure and in some people alot of discomfort. My addiction is seltzer water... weird I know (even the doc told me in a kidding way that was strange) but he also told me that if I could tolerate it, there is no reason I could not have a seltzer water once in a while. He said that in his experience it did not stretch out the gastric sleeve. Khy

  16. I had 2 weeks of full liquids. After that, any meat I could throw in a blender and make it a semi-solid was permitted. Some things worked better than others. Do not be afraid to add broth or some liquid to make it go down easier. I have been on solids for months and the only thing that that is hard to tolerate is turkey. I don't know why that is... About 2 small bites of it and I feel over full. I think what you can and cannot tolerate tends to be an individual thing. Try the 85 % lean hamburger rather than the 92% or 96%. YOu are not eating that much of it and the small amount of extra fat will make it easier. Khy
  17. Ok Sign me up!! Now I do have a question... I had 108 lbs. to lose. I have lost about 60 in 5 months. but most of that was the first 4 months. For the past couple of months my weight loss has really been slow. Less than a 1/2 lb. a week, some weeks none. What should I expect now that I have lost about half my weight? I find myself getting frustrated with the slow loss... to the point I have broken my diet. I do have to say the clementines were good... and very sweet but according to my doctor I should not be eating fruit yet. I have tried changing up the exercise... restricting carbs and increasing them but nothing seems to put this weight loss thing back in gear. Any ideas? Khy
  18. I am a little over half way to my goal. The problem is the weight loss has slowed down to barely a crawl. In the last 11/2 months and I have lost only 3 or 4 lbs. I have changed up what I eat and my exercise. Nothing seems to speed it up. Is this average for about half the weight gone or is my body just being stubborn? My weight does continue to drop but oh so slow... Just wonder what others have experienced at this stage. Khy

  20. As I have often said... you are lovely. You have been and will continue to be such an inspiration to me. Everyone should realize the final goal is really self acceptance. Like you this is something I never had... even at 110 lbs in highschool ... I thought I was too fat... but I am looking forward to 130 lbs. After what I have been through... I think like you I will finally find self acceptance. Khy
  21. Well this is something I intend to bring up with my Dr. the next time I see him. I kind of wonder if this no drinking while eating thing is a hold over from RNY. I still have a stomach and a pyloric valve. I have tried not to drink and eat at the same time and am still trying. I do admit to a few sips here and there. The 30 minute rule sometimes goes out the window as I am a school teacher and my plan period is not always a plan period. Meetings of all sorts pop up and ruin that 30 minute no drink before meals. I have to eat when I get a few minutes and it is not always at the same time each day. I imagine if you asked 10 different doctors you would probably get 10 various answers. Still interested in what mine might say. Khy

    Aetna pre-op weight loss required?

    I lost some weight while on the 3 month program with Aetna. I did not have co-morbidities so I was careful to keep my BMI right at 40. The insurance coordinator for my WLS said that they only send in my beginning weight and Aetna will use that. Aetna does want several years of documented weight. Anytime you go to the doctor and they weigh you... u can use that for for doucmented weight. Khy

    Newbie Hairloss Question

    I have had severe hair loss despite taking biotion, flax seed, a multivitamin and B comples for 3 months before my surgery. I didnt have much hair to begin with due to hypothryroid and a hysterectomy. It is really thin and still falling out. Sigh.. hair everywhere else seems to be healthy and growing... no free brazilians here. :leaving: I am hoping someone can assure me that at least some of it will come back in. I guess it is an individual thing. Some people experience this and some get away without it.
